The exact pathogenesis of diarrhea-dominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is not known, but the abnormal microbiota of the gastrointestinal tract is considered to be one of the important contributing factors as in other gastrointestinal diseases such as inflammatory bowel disease, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and colorectal cancer as well as systemic diseases. Though diverse trials of probiotics had been continued in the treatment of diarrhea-IBS, only a few proved by randomized clinical trial. To prove the efficacy of Lactobacillus gasseri BNR17 isolated from breast milk in patients with diarrhea-IBS, prospective, randomized, placebo controlled clinical trial was done including health related-quality of life analysis, colon transit time, and the changes of fecal microbiota. BNR17 significantly improved the symptoms of diarrhea compared to control group. Health related-QOL analysis showed significant improvement of abdominal pain, distension, disturbed daily life, and mean defecation frequency with BNR17. On comparative CTT before and after BNR17, 6 out of 24 subjects showed significant correction of rapid colon transit pattern, while only 2 out of 24 in placebo (p<0.01). Upon fecal microbiota analysis, BNR17 significantly increased B. fecalis, E. rectale, C. aerofaciens, F. prausnitzil and B. steroris. Conclusively, Lactobacillus gasseri BNR17 can be a potential probiotics to ameliorate diarrhea-IBS.

訪問歯科診療で, 義歯の試適中に意識消失を起こした症例を経験した。<BR>患者は78歳の女性で, 主訴は歯牙欠損による咬合不全であった。既往歴は, 糖尿病, 高血圧, 高脂血症と, 脳出血・脳梗塞後遺症による右片麻痺, 痴呆, 抑うつ症であった。<BR>初診では, 口腔内診査により上下顎部分床義歯作製が予定され, その後訪問診療2~5回目まで, 特に問題なく経過した。<BR>6回目, 蝋義歯による仮床試適を行ったところ, 患者は突然椅子から倒れ, 意識を消失した。意識消失時間は10数秒程度であった。その後呼名に対しわずかな反応が出現し, 数分後, 顔色が戻りやがて会話が可能となった。約40分間, 経過を観察し, 一般状態に特に異常がないことを確認してから患家を退出した。<BR>この意識消失に陥った原因は, 既往歴から反復性のTIA (一過性脳虚血発作) や症候性てんかん等も疑われた。一方, 患者は痴呆による認知能力の低下があり, 診療内容に十分な理解を得る事が難しかったことやその経過から, 義歯試適がストレスとなった神経原性ショックの可能性も考えられた。<BR>訪問歯科診療の対象となるような予備力の少ない要介護高齢者に対しては, 義歯の試適のようなストレスが低いと考えられる処置に際しても注意が必要である。

In this paper I started with a question that the piano teaching methods at the department of education have too much focus on the specialist curriculum, which is often seen at music colleges or conservatories. Contrary to those methods for a specialist curriculum, I devised a new method to train students' ability in music which would be applicable for different situations in school, for example string or blass ensemble, chorus, etc. This method was put in practice in group lesson form. I used many pieces for four hands as well as solo music in various styles and characters as materials. This paper reports a practical study under the concept of how to grasp various music theories and knowledge and how to develop them into the live musical expression, using piano as the medium.

若手研究者は国や組織の競争力を高める重要な資源であるため,今後の科学技術政策やイノベーション戦略を立案する上で,彼らの意欲を高めるような方策を検討することには大きな意味がある。そこで本研究では,直接若手研究者に対しインタビューを行い,研究を行う動機や,やる気を低下させる要因,その対処法などについて調査した。その結果,若手研究者には,彼らの持つモチベーション特性の違いから,課題解決型と課題発見型の2つのタイプが存在することが分かった。課題解決型の若手研究者は,自己の能力や技能を用いて課題解決に挑むことに研究の面白さを感じる一方で,対応不可能と思われる課題や暖昧な課題を与えられた時に意欲の低下が見られた。このような時彼らは,暖昧な作業の中から挑戦すべきテーマを見つけ出すなどして自らのモチベーションを保つよう対処していた。課題発見型の若手研究者は,自身が関与する研究分野を既知の領域と未知の領域に別けて考え,自らが先頭に立って未知の領域を開拓することを研究意欲の源泉としていた。また彼らは,外部からの強いコントロールを感じた時に意欲の低下を示した。このような時彼らは,何らかの外的な報酬に行動の原因を帰属させることでモチベーションを取り戻そうとしていた。

Pyrolyses of copper organic acid salts, i. e., caprylate, laurate, stearate and naphthenate, were studied in the temperature range of 25∼850°C in Ar or air flow by thermogravimetry (TG)-differential thermal analysis (DTA), infrared and X-ray analyses, Decomposition reaction of the salts followed by evaporation of the organic products were found to take place in the range of 200∼350°C in Ar, where the solid product was metal copper.In the case of an air atmosphere, decomposition reaction with combustion of the organic products and simultaneous oxidation of metal copper were found to take place.On the final stage in air, retardation of the pyrolysis with a large tailing of weight decrease curve was found, which was considered to be caused by a formation of dense layer of copper oxide on the surface of the specimen. During the pyrolysis process solid products were metal copper, cuprous and cupric oxides. Final product heated up to 850°C was found to be cupric oxide.

20世紀は科学の時代ではなく「科学神話」の時代である。本研究ではこうした科学情報の神話構造を暴きだすことを目指した。身体と科学の関係については身体表象三部作(各単著『美女と機械』『気分はサイボーグ』『身体補完計画』)によって、情報処理機械と人間精神の関係については単著『サラリーマン誕生物語』によって、家電品とモダンライフの関係については単著『白物家電の神話』によって、科学技術と大衆の総覧的関係については単著『20世紀テクノロジーと大衆文化2』によって、それぞれ科学神話の構造を分析した。
