The fish fauna of the Ano River in Mie Prefecture, central Japan, was surveyed between May 2013 and August 2013. A total of 1242 individuals of 38 species belonging to 15 families were collected from 13 stations and 3 species belonging to 3 families were visually confirmed. Six species, Dasyatis akajei, Opsariichthys uncirostris uncirostris, Microphis(Oostethus)brachyurus brachyurus, Plectorhinchus cinctus, Kuhlia marginata, Rhinogobius sp. BF, Rhinogobiussp. OM were newly added to the fish fauna of the Ano River. Six alien species were collected and seven species of threatened fishes in red list of Ministry of Environment Japan or in red databook of Mie Prefecture, such as Cottus reinii were collected. Two of these alien species, Micropterus salmoides and Lepomis macrochirus macrochirus were designated “Invasive Alien Species” by Invasive Alien Species Act (Law of Japan). Other four species, Acheilognathus rhombeus, Opsariichthys uncirostris uncirostris, Rhinogobius sp. OM, and Tachysurus nudiceps were domestic alien speceies and the former three species were evidently introduced from Lake Biwa basin. It seemed that a dam(1.8m in hight) which constructed in the middle leach of the river disturb diadromous migration. Control of alien species and improvement of the fish way on the dam are necessary to conserve fish biodiversity in the Ano River.

A special geminate like ff in maffa "pillow", which does not exist in the Standard Japanese (SJ), is found in the Antoh dialect in Fukui Prefecture. This paper deals with the synchronic and diachronic phenomena concerning the ff geminate in addition to bb and ss. This paper has the following purposes: (1) to illustrate the correspondence of geminates between the Antoh dialect and SJ, (2) to investigate the historical development of the geminates in the Antoh dialect, (3) to point out that the manifestation of the geminates in the Antoh dialect is similar to that of the Miyakojima dialect in the Ryukyuan language, and (4) to propose that the explanation for the process of the geminate in this dialect gives a suggestive source to the discussion on the processes of sound changes in the Ryukyuan language.

Apparently at the same time as Japan ruled Taiwan, Shinto was simultaneously being introduced. Taiwanese however did not follow Shintoism. To them a shrine had a political reason rather than a religious one. Due to that fact the concept of a shrine being a locum for the Gods was not progressing well. The concept lacked strength anyway, because Taiwanese followed their own traditional religion anyway. The historical experience is different and there are also considerable differences as to the opinion of the architectural style during the Japanese regime. The perspective of the controversy of Tsutomu Shrine as presented in this essay suggests that colonial cultural assets are still under the development. The promotion of a cultural property protection only suggested from the legal aspect isn't sufficient. In the future a new approach incorporating the education and research is likely to be necessary.

It is common knowledge among philosophical researchers that modern philosophy began with Descartes's "cogito". And there might be no objection to calling modern philisophy "philosophy of self-consciousness". H.Bergson found his philosophical starting-point in immediate self-knowledge, "durée pure". As such we can say that his philosophy belongs to the ancestry of self consciousness philosophy. If so, a problem will arise. :What is his own contribution to philosophy? I found an answer by interpreting and extending the concept of "schéme moteur" which is found in his second main book, "Matter and Memory". The answer is a tri-structure which is composed of three moments, "actual", "virtual", and "medium". I propose to regard this structure as the archetype of signification, moreover, to extend it to the ontological principle. And I call this the "semiotic process". My intention is to give some logical form to Bergson's idea which some people often criticize as just being a metaphor. In this sense I think it can be said that "semiotic process" is another name for "élan vital". The making Bergson's "hidden logic" clearer by finding out the "semitic process" is the main theme of this paper.
