Over four million individuals have already tried the Suica system, introduced by the East Japan Railway Company on November 18,2001,and these customers have responded favorably. During the 14 years that this system was in development, researchers focused on high-speed processing as the critical development theme, especially at automatic fare collection gates. That is because customers must have it pass through the automatic fare collection gates smoothly. In this report, I will focus not only on the technical development but also on field tests performed to evaluate the system under conditions similar to actual operations, development of the IC card and its rewriting capabilities for faster processing, and the use of the Touch & Go format, in which the IC and spends more time in the physical range of communication with reader.

In this study, the prospect that people will forget life events they have experienced is referred to as “worry of forgetting,” which is considered to be associated with some intention and emotion. In Study 1, we developed the Worry of Forgetting Questionnaire and examined its reliability and validity.An exploratory factor analysis revealed that worry of forgetting consisted of a single factor. The validity of the scale was examined by correlations with the Thinking About Life Experiences Scale, the Autobiographical Reasoning Scale, and the Identity Scale. In Study 2, we investigated the relationship between worry of forgetting and characteristics of remembered events. Participants answered a questionnaire relating to characteristics of remembered autobiographical memories and worry of forgetting, in the context of events experienced during their time in high school. Furthermore, the analysis revealed that the more positive and important a participant’s recalled events, the stronger their demonstrated worry of forgetting. These and other results are discussed mainly in terms of autobiographical reasoning and, in particular, reflective thinking that connected past experiences to the self.

マイクロ波ロケットの実現化には高効率のビーム伝送技術が不可欠である.本研究ではその方法としてフェーズドアレイ送電アンテナによるミリ波集光を検討した.飛行高度に併せて焦点を変化させ,機体側の受電アンテナを小さくしつつ高効率な送電を行おうとするものである.結果,広い高度領域にわたり高い伝送効率が得られ,フェーズドアレイを採用しない場合に比べ,地上システムに必要なミリ波発振器の数は1/6程度となった.

第 67 回デジタルドキュメント研究会にて、ページ記述言語 PostScript における標準的な字形指定番号である Adobe CID から、TrueType フォントのグリフへのマッピング方法について発表した。アドホックなマッピング情報を持たないよう、PostScript 資源として提供されている情報のみでマッピングを決定しようとすれば、テーブル構築の際に 0.5~3 秒程度の遅延が発生することを示した。この負荷はラスタ処理が数十秒から数分におよび高解像度の印刷の場合には無視できるが、モニタ表示の観点では問題となる。この負荷は PostScript 資源をフォントごとに読み込んでマッピングを構築するためと考えられるので、PostScript 資源ではなく、近年普及が進みつつある TrueType フォントの UVS サポートを用いて、このマッピング処理を高速化する方法について検討する。In SIGDD67, the method to minimize the missing glyph in the translation of CJK TrueType font to CIDFontType2 object for Adobe CID glyph space was presented. The method improves the missing glyph issue of Ghostscript-8, the latency caused by using 3 tables (horizontal CMap, vertical CMap, and ToUnicode or ToCode mapping table) is not negligible for document browsing on the computer displays. In this report, a method to improve the latency by using OpenType cmap table format 14 (UVS table) which is introduced for Variation Selector in TrueType font. The parser of UVS table was implemented by PostScript for Ghostscript, and VM usage and time to parse UVS table were measured. From the experimental results, the parsing latency for UVS table is shorter than that for Unicode cmap table, and the VM usage is about 50% of previous method.

子どもに予防接種を受けさせるにあたって保護者の自律的意思決定が可能な状況にあるかを明らかにするため、生命倫理における自律尊重の観点から独自に調査を行った。18歳以下の子をもつ保護者を対象としたアンケートでは、予防接種を受けないまたは迷う理由として副反応の心配やワクチンの安全性への疑問が最も多くあげられたが、接種時のインフォームド・コンセントの機会が十分でない場合が多いことが示された。また、受けない選択をするとなれば保育所や幼稚園・学校から指導が入るなど周囲の目を気にせざるを得ないこともあり、副反応のリスクは自己責任であるのに自己決定できない状況があるといえる。一方で、働く親からは接種の効率化を望む声もあったが、同時接種後の死亡事故への懸念とともに、子どもの健康や病にじっくりと向き合う余裕をもてない子育て環境が背景にあることをうかがわせる。多角的な情報に基づいた自律的選択のために、保護者には行政や医療機関以外にも信頼できるネットワークが必要である。

This study investigated the relationships between the kinetic factor of the swing leg and step frequency (SF) and step length (SL) during the top speed phase of a sprint. Sixteen male sprinters (age 19.3±0.6 years, height 1.74±0.06 m, weight 66.1±5.2 kg) performed maximum effort 60-m sprints. Video data from the 43.5- to 50-m section of the sprint were collected using a high-speed camera (300 Hz). SF index and SL index were calculated to exclude the influence of body height on the outcomes of interest. Torque and torque power of the hip and knee joints of the right leg were calculated during the swing phase of the right leg. The time of the swing phase of the right leg was normalized so that the take-off of the right foot, touchdown of the left foot, take-off of the left foot, and touchdown of the right foot were 0%, 100%, 200%, and 300%, respectively. For every 5% of normalized time, partial correlation analysis was conducted between the right leg kinetics and SF index (controlling SL index) and SL index (controlling SF index). The SF index was associated with a large hip flexion torque and a large hip extension torque during 10–60% and 250–280% of the swing phase, respectively. Moreover, large peaks of the hip flexion torque and positive power were associated with a high SF index (r = -.718, p <0.01; r = .531, p <0.05, respectively). The SL index was associated with a hip flexion torque during 20–30% of the swing phase, although there was no significant partial correlation between the SL index and peak hip flexion torque (r = -.381, p = .161). In addition, a high SL index was associated with early appearance of the peak hip flexion torque power (r = -.759, p <0.01). In conclusion, throughout the top speed phase of a sprint, a high SF index requires a large torque and hip joint power for the leg swing over a short duration, and a high SL index requires an early increase of hip flexion torque power.

<p> 日本において保守的な人ほど学問に対して否定的な態度をとりやすいのかどうかを検討した.保守的な態度の指標として安倍内閣支持,保革自己イメージ,権威主義,排外意識の4つを用い,学問に対する態度の指標として学問効用認知と環境学,医学,経済学,歴史学,憲法学に対する相対的な信頼度を用いた.分析の結果,ある程度は保守的であるほど学問に対して否定的になりやすい傾向が見られたが,一貫したものではなかった.権威主義の直接効果は存在せず,保革自己イメージは,中間が最も学問に否定的で,保守と革新の両方で肯定的になることもあった.排外意識が有意な効果を持ったのは,歴史学と憲法学に対する相対的な信頼度だけであった.安倍内閣支持は医学に対する相対的な信頼度以外では有意な効果を持ったが,学問効用認知をむしろ高めていた.以上から,政治的な態度と学問に対する支持のあいだに関係があることは明らかであるが,それは分野によって異なっているだけでなく,むしろ保守的な人のほうが肯定的な場合もあることがわかった.</p>

新潟大学では,平成 24 年 3 月に新しい教育用コンピュータシステムの運用を開始した.本システムは,授業等で利用する教育用パソコン,電子メールやウェブ等のネットワークサービス,認証システム等で構成され,大学の運営に欠かせないコンピュータシステムである.東日本大震災以後,コンピュータシステムに対して節電対策を強く求められるようになり,本システムも例外なく省エネルギー運用を強く意識したシステム構成となっている.本システムは,仮想化技術の導入によって,旧システムと比較して多数の物理サーバを削減し,仮想化技術を活用した省エネルギー運用により,単位時間あたり平均 1.6 kWhの電力消費量の削減を実現した.本報告は,新潟大学で成功したコンピュータシステムの省エネルギー運用について述べる.
