市販のGPS 付携帯電話を端末とした位置依存の共有仮想空間(擬人化エージェント機能や利用者間コミュニケーション機能を含む)を応用して観光支援システムを開発し,これについて公開実験を行った.ここで公開実験とは,観光者に現地で依頼して被験者となってもらい,かつ観光者自身の所有する携帯電話を使用して,我々の提供するサービスを評価してもらう実験であり,観光の観点から客観性の高い現実的な評価を得ることが目的である.実験は香川県の代表的観光地である金刀比羅宮と栗林公園でそれぞれ1 週間ずつ実施した.その結果,年齢,性,観光地への訪問経験などにより反応が異なる場合があることが確認でき,ターゲットユーザの絞り込みが重要であることが分かった.また仮想空間で提供する情報は,ガイドブックや立て看板などの現実のメディアとの役割分担が重要であることも明確になった.またGPS の誤差については問題が残るが,位置誤差の評価と観光支援サービスの評価は独立であることも確認した.本論文ではこの公開実験の方法と結果について詳細に述べる.We have developed a sightseeing support system, using our shared virtual world service including human-like agents and inter-user communication for popular GPS-phones on the market. We have conducted open experiments for the service. By open experiments, we mean those with real tourists as subjects and letting them use their own phones. By open experiment, we have aimed to acquire realistic and objective evaluation from the viewpoint of sightseeing itself. The experiments were conducted at two major sightseeing destinations in Kagawa prefecture, each taking one week. As results, we have found that visitors responded differently by their age, gender, experiences, etc. We have also found that virtual media should give different information from real media. These findings will help the future design of such services. GPS inaccuracies were found but subjects evaluated them independently from other evaluation. In this paper, the method and results of the experiments are described.

これまで関ヶ原の戦いに至る政治状況と関ヶ原の戦い当日の実戦の状況については、日本国内の史料(日本側の史料)により検討されてきたが、イエズス会宣教師が当該期の日本国内の政治状況などを報じた『十六・七世紀イエズス会日本報告集』には、関ヶ原の戦いに至る政治状況と関ヶ原の戦い当日の実戦の状況などが詳しく記されているので、本稿では『十六・七世紀イエズス会日本報告集』の記載内容の検討をもとに、関ヶ原の戦いに至る政治状況と関ヶ原の戦い当日の実戦の状況について考察する。

Ambient ionization allows mass spectrometry analysis directly on the sample surface under atmospheric pressure with almost zero sample pretreatment. Since the development of desorption electrospray ionization (DESI) in 2004, many other ambient ionization techniques were developed. Due to their simplicity and low operation cost, rapid and on-site clinical mass spectrometry analysis becomes real. In this review, we will highlight some of the most widely used ambient ionization mass spectrometry approaches and their applications in clinical study.

Oocyte maturation in medaka is induced by the maturation-inducing hormone (MIH) via its membrane receptor. The most likely candidates for the membrane receptor are membrane progestin receptors (mPRs). In order to characterize the mPRα subtype of medaka, a human cell line expressing the mPRα gene of medaka was established and its steroid binding property was assessed. The α subtype exhibited high binding affinity for 17,20β-DHP, the MIH in medaka. Treatment with a morpholino antisense oligonucleotide to mPRα blocked oocyte maturation in vivo. These results suggest that the medaka mPRα protein acts as an intermediary during MIH-induced oocyte maturation in medaka in a manner similar to that described previously for fish species.

The mechanical thermometer using a bimetallic strip coil was developed for the Tanpopo mission. The Tanpopo mission is a multi-year passive exposure experiment for astrobiology exposure and micrometeoroid capture onboard the Exposed Experiment Handrail Attachment Mechanism (ExHAM) at the Japanese Experiment Module 'Kibo' (JEM) Exposed Facility (EF) on the International Space Station (ISS). The Tanpopo mission apparatuses were launched by the SpaceX-6 Dragon CRS-6 on April 14 2015, from the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in the U.S.A. Since its microbial exposure experiment requires recording the maximum temperature that the Tanpopo exposure panel experiences, we have developed a mechanical thermometer with no electric power supplied from the ExHAM. At a given time and orbital position of the ISS, the thermometer indicator was video-imaged by the extravehicular video camera attached to the Kibo-EF and controlled from the ground. With these images analyzed, we were able to derive the maximum temperature of the Tanpopo exposure panels on the space pointing face of the ExHAM as 23.9±5 °C. Now this passive and mechanical thermometer is available to other space missions with no electric supplies required and thus highly expands the possibility of new extravehicular experiments and explorations for both human and robotic missions.

Canine prostate cancer (cPCa) is an untreatable malignant neoplasm resulting in local tissue invasion and distant metastasis. MicroRNAs (miRs) are small non-coding RNAs that function as oncogenes or tumor suppressors. The purpose of this study was to characterize the expression of miRs that are altered in cPCa tissue. The expression levels of 277 mature miRs in prostatic tissue (n=5, respectively) were compared between the non-tumor and tumor groups using real-time PCR. Five miRs (miR-18a, 95, 221, 222 and 330) were up-regulated, but 14 miRs (miR-127, 148a, 205, 299, 329b, 335, 376a, 376c, 379, 380, 381, 411, 487b and 495) were down-regulated specifically in cPCa (P<0.05). These miRs have potential use as early diagnosis markers for cPCa and in miR-based therapy.
