本稿では,高度な手術シミュレーションへの適用を目的とした軟組織切開フレームワークを提案する.最初に,質点系における各ノード間に生じる張力によって,軟組織の緊張状態をモデル化する.また,質点系のリモデリングと適応型の四面体分割手法によって,複数の四面体によって構成される3次元仮想オブジェクトに対する切開をシミュレートする.本手法は,組織切開後のトポロジーの変化とリアルタイムな変形に関する一貫した記述を与え,組織の物理的特性を反映した切開創を導出する.さらに,オブジェクト構成要素の階層構造を用いた力学計算の局所化によって,大規模なオブジェクトに対する広範囲でかつ対話的な操作を実現する.ノード階層を用いたリフレッシュレート管理機構は計算精度と計算コストの制御を可能とし,安定なシミュレーションを提供する.上記手法を1台の力覚デバイスをともなった実験システムに実装し,成人男性から取得した胸部MRIデータを適用した.導出される切開創の形状と計算時間に関する定量的な検証の結果,提案フレームワークが高精度かつ対話的な組織切開シミュレーションを提供することを確認した.This paper proposes a framework to simulate soft tissue cutting for advanced surgery simulation.A strained status of soft tissues is modeled as tension between neighboring vertices in a particle-based model.Both remodeling particle systems and adaptive tetrahedral subdivision achieve cutting simulation of tetrahedral objects.These methods deal with topological change and real-time deformation after soft tissue cutting consistently,and present volumetric cuts based on physical characteristics.Local calculation using dynamic elements hierarchy enables interactive and global cutting into large objects.Management structure of refresh rate performs stable simulation by controlling real time performance and simulation quality.3D MRI dataset acquired from an adult man was applied to simulation system with a force feedback device.Quantitative evaluation of calculation time and quality of cuts confirmed that our framework contributes to accurate and interactive tissue cutting.

This paper is based on my personal experiences of fighting against cancer, because referring to such experiences is necessary to consider the relationships between the tendency of normalization and the concept of the buddha-nature. I had two operations for cancer, i.e. the stomach and the pancreas which had grown independently. As a result, I lost the stomach, duodenum, gallbladder, spleen, and a half of the pancreas. About two years ago, the pancreas cancer spread to the liver, then began the treatment using anticancer drugs. Through those serious experiences, I noticed, in my mind, the reception of the world view of the Buddhism, i.e. at the core of the world there exists the good power or mechanism which had been called as Dainichi Nyorai, Amitabha, and Kannon, etc. I also noticed in my mind the existence of the tendency of normalization which contributed to the calm of the mind, and such a tendency is common to animals as well as human beings. The tendency of normalization can be a candidate of the buddha-nature, because, according to Buddhism, the buddha-nature helps us to overcome the difficulties and is common to all sentient beings including human beings. To interpret in this way will make the concept of the buddha-nature within the reach of the general public. However, the tendency of normalization is only one aspect of the multilayer concept of the buddha-nature. At the base of that concept, according to Zen Buddhist Dogen, there exists the impermanence or mutual dependency, i.e. Mujo. At the last chapter, the participation into and the good deed based on the Buddhist world view of the good power and Mujo will be considered.

National Health Insurance (NHI) was introduced in 1995 as the first universal medical insurance system in Taiwan. Before that, there existed sixteen medical insurance programs, which covered only a small part of the population. The reason for the lack of the universal system can be attributed to the existence of conflict with Mainland China and the decision by the Kuomingtang, Taiwan's long-term dominant party, to give top priority to economical development, rather than social development. However, the establishment of universal system became one of the political agendas through the democratization process since mid-1980's. In 1997, Taiwan government planned to cut costs by privatizing and pluralizing of NHI. KMT and the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), the opposition party, have agreed on the privatization of state-owned enterprises so far, but it may take years to reform the NHI because both the national and international politics concerning Taiwan have been very unsteady. In this article, I conclude that the attempt of Taiwan's pluralism will be increasingly demanded by changing civil society and political party systems of Taiwan and the relationship with Mainland China.

The main purpose of this research is to study and develop a robust sonar system for mobile robots. In this way, some researchers have made sonar systems which calculate the cross-correlation between the transmitted signal and the received one. However, as the number of patterns of transmitted signals are practically limited, there would be possible erroneous measurements by sonar sensors, especially when the number of the sensors is increased.In this paper, we theoretically estimate the probability of erroneous measurement by the sonar sensors, which depends on the number of the sensors and the form of the transmitted signal. Then, we designed the shape of the emitted signals so that the probability of having an erroneous measurement is in a defined range.

Starting from 1-β-D-ribofuranosyl-2-oxo-4-imidazoline-4-carboxylic acid (1), obtained from uridine, various 2, 5'-O-cycloimidazole nucleosides have been prepared. The 2-oxo function of 1 was also converted to the 2-chloro and 2-thione functions. Whereas the circular dichroism (CD) spectra of 1 and related 2-oxo derivatives exhibited negative bands, their 5-bromo derivatives showed positive bands. All 2, 5'-O-cycloimidazole nucleosides showed strong negative CD bands which were in contrast to the results in the 8, 5'-O-cyclopurine nucleosides. The relationship between the sign of the CD bands and the orientation of the base moieties in imidazole nucleosides was discussed.

角度分解光電子分光(ARPES)の分解能はここ数年で大幅に向上し,強相関電子物理等の分野で多くの成果を上げている.しかし,フェルミ準位近傍(結合エネルギーE_B<数十meV)のARPESスペクトルを,理論的な一電子スペクトルとの比較から定量的に議論した例はまだ少ない.本稿では,高温超伝導体の高分解能ARPES実験から,BCS理論の予測するボゴリューボフ準粒子の直接観測に成功したので紹介する.

近年, ロボット手術支援など医療分野で力覚提示技術が注目されている.しかし, そのヒューマンインターフェースに関する性質は必ずしも十分には検討されていない.この研究では, 力覚フィーフォバックディスプレイ装置でペン型ジンバルのインターフェースを利用する場合を対象に, 人間の力覚特性, すなわち, 振動刺激閾値周波数特性とその弁別閾の特性を心理物理的実験によって明らかにした.これらの結果は, 力覚デバイスを用いてVRシステムを設計する際の基礎的データとして利用できる.

鹿児島県内を管轄する4ヵ所の畜犬管理センターに集められた犬について, レプトスピラ (8種類の血清型<I>autumnalis, hebdomadis, australis, icterohaemorrhagiae, canicola, pyrogenes, hardjo, pomona</I>) に対する抗体調査を1984年5月から1987年3月に行った. 性別による陽性率は雄26.2%, 雌18.8%で雄の方が高く, また推定年齢別の比較では, 加齢とともに陽性率は増加する傾向を示した. 県全体では, 806頭中190頭 (23.5%) が1種類以上の血清型に対して陽性であった. 地域別では, 加世田が204頭中57頭 (27.9%) で最も陽性率が高く, ついで宮之城が197頭中53頭 (26.9%), 国分は198頭中44頭 (22.2%), 鹿児島市が最も低く207頭中36頭 (17.4%) であった. 各地域の月別の陽性率は, 季節に関連する変動は認められなかった. 県内4ヵ所での各血清型抗体の検出数および検出率で, 各地域とも最も多いのは<I>icterohaemorrhagiae</I>であった. 次に多く検出されたのは鹿児島市と国分では<I>canicola</I>で, 加世田と宮之城では<I>hebdomadis</I>であった. 今回の調査において, 1972年から1979年の南九州における調査では検出されなかった<I>australis, pyrogenes, pomona</I>および<I>hardjo</I>に対する陽性反応が認められた. 検査した犬はすべて臨床的には健常であり, 同時に行った血液検査でも, BUNの値が正常範囲内ではあるが抗体陽性の犬は陰性の犬よりも有意に高い値 (P<0.05) を示したにすぎなかった.

タウリンで強化したワムシをふ化から20日齢までマダイに給餌することにより, タウリンの有効性を検討した。マダイ仔魚中のタウリン含量は対照区, タウリン強化区でそれぞれ37,252mg/100gとなり, 6.8倍の差となった。マダイの成長をみると, 20日齢では対照区, タウリン強化区でそれぞれ全長6.26, 6.99mmとなり, 有意差が認められた。飢餓耐性試験においても差が認められ, タウリン強化区が優れていた。本研究結果からマダイ仔魚に対してタウリンが有効であることが明らかとなった。

システムがんの円滑な計画研究の遂行と、計画・公募研究間の有機的な連携を推進した。毎年、班会議、総括班会議、及び外部有識者による諮問委員会委員を開催し、研究方針の策定、研究進捗状況の把握と内部評価を行った。情報・データ解析系と実験系との研究マッチングをサイトビジット形式で行い、研究支援を行った。アウトリーチ活動としては、ニュースレターを計12発行し、ホームページ、及び多くの論文のプレスリリースを活用して研究成果を社会へ発信した。一般、中学生、高校生を対処とした公開講演会を7回開催した。また、毎年、ソウル国立大学癌研究所の主催するシンポジウムを通して国際交流を深めた。

In field of cardiovascular surgeries, palpation of aorta plays important roles in decision of surgical site.This paper develops palpation simulator of aorta based on a finite element based physical model.The proposed model calculates soft tissue deformation according to the affection of inner pressure and the operation of a surgeon.The proposed method is implemented on a prototype with dual PHANToM device.Experimental results confirmed our model achieves real time simulation of the surgical palpation.

This paper describes a method of cooperative strategy which enables a wheelchair and a wheeled robot to climb a step by a simple link mechanism which connects between them. We perform a numerical calculation to clarify the combination of two supporting positions of the connecting link that connects the two vehicles which enable them to climb a step and is stable at the same time. We conclude from the result of the simulation that it is necessary to change the link positions to climb a step safely. We ascertain the effectiveness of this method by means of experiments.
