Two studies using the minimal group paradigm were conducted to investigate the intergroup discrimination in an experimentally created minority and majority groups. In both studies, subjects were divided into the minority and the majority group by drawing lots, and asked to allocate points between other ingroup members and outgroup members. In the first study, it was found that the minority group showed significant ingroup favouritism whereas the majority group did not. The minority group was more aware of their membership in the group than their counterpart. In the second study, subjects were led to believe that the minority group and the majority group had either similar or different social attitude. On the whole, both the minority and the majority group favoured a similar group and discriminated against a dissimilar group. The effects of attitudinal similarity in minimal groups were discussed.

This thesis revisits “Twenty Years’ Crisis” and considers what E. H. Carr means by “realism.” Since the 1990s, many works have challenged the stereotyped picture of a “realist Carr.” Now we know much about a “non-realist” Carr, but there still remain a lot of questions about Carr's “realism.” Contrary to the prevailing image of anti-idealism, Carr's “realism” is a “weapon” to demolish the inequalities between nations, and to rebuild a more equal order. <br> During the 1930s, the “idealists” such as Norman Angell and Leonard Woolf abandoned their optimistic beliefs in public opinion, and advocated the League sanctions against the fascist countries. Together with the pacifists, Carr criticized the League sanctions as a superficial solution, and insisted that the fundamental problem was the inequalities between the “have” and “have-not” countries. His criticisms toward the League were not a denial of the League itself. He criticized the “Coercive League,” which was hostile to the “have-not” countries, but supported the “Consultative League,” which functioned as a forum between the “have” and “have-not.” <br> Now we are in the long fight against terrorism. Global terrorism is, in part, a reaction to global inequalities. Carr's “realism” tells us that military actions alone never beat global terrorism.

筆者は6年制薬学課程の2期卒業生にあたる.学部時代は環境毒性学の実験研究をし,卒業後は博士課程に進んだ.その後,国家公務員総合職試験合格を機に,より大きい調査とデータを求めて総務省へ入省した.行政官として働く傍ら,ヘルスケアIoT コンソーシアム(internet of things: IoT)への参画など、統計に軸をおく公衆衛生学者としての活動も続けている.本稿では,大学院での研究生活と総務省での統計の仕事についてつづり,薬学から大学院,そして公衆衛生や行政・社会科学の分野に進むキャリアパスの一例としてご紹介したい.

There lie two quiescent volcanoes and three canyons in the basin of the Torii River. In time of heavey rainfall, driftwoods and gravels are produced in theese areas. Sometimes they cause hydrospheric disaster. On the other hand, these areas are kept in reratively good condition. So we must pay due regard to natural river ecosystems. A good cooperation between engineers, ecologists, and similar experts paired with the work of good service team is essential to water resources management and maintainance.

明治期に,西欧の制度を移入し,美術という言葉が生まれて以降,日本においては,美術家たちによって実践される「美術」と,教育現場で行われる「美術教育」の間に,次第に距離が生じ,断絶した状況が生じている。その一方で生涯学習をはじめ,一般市民の美術は,「美術」「美術教育」いずれともほとんど関わりを持たずに,盛んに取り組まれている現実がある。こうした混沌とした状況の中,現在,美術・美術教育をとりまく環境は大変厳しいものとなっている。今こそ,我々は近代化の中で美術と美術教育が辿ってきた道程を顧み,私たち日本人にとって必要な美術の在り方を,構築する必要があるのではないだろうか。

交通ネットワーク整備をはじめとする様々な交通政策を実施する際に近隣住民の合意が得られず,それ故にその政策を実施できないという局面は年々増加しているものと考えられる.こうした合意形成の問題に対処すべく,本稿では,社会的ジレンマ(藤井,2003)の理論的枠組を用いて社会状況を捉えることで,人々が特定の政策に対して合意する傾向を促進できる可能性を,社会心理学的アプローチに基づいて探る.特に,行政手続きに対する公正感(i.e. 手続き的公正)と行政に対する信頼の重要性を指摘するとともに,それらの高揚を目指すためには計画の修正可能性を担保すること,そして,計画上の誤りが明らかとなった場合には行政側の謝罪が決定的な役割を演ずることを理論的に指摘する.
