This study considered the movements of the defense lines and the ball during a football game as a three-coupled oscillation. Each defense line of two opposing teams oscillated with in-phase synchronization, and the length between each defense line and the ball oscillated with anti-phase synchronization. We introduced a three-coupled oscillation model to understand these synchronizations. First, we considered the case in which three masses, m, and four spring constants, k, were equal in a three-coupled oscillation. We calculated the eigenvectors and eigenvalues based on the equation of motion, and we obtained three modes of oscillation as three angular frequencies in the equation. We obtained key parameters when we defined the initial state of the system, which allowed us to solve the equation of motion for three-coupled oscillation. Next, we considered cases in which three masses and four spring constants differed. To confirm the validity of the three-coupled oscillation model, we calculated the distribution of the relative phase between two outer masses, m1 and m3, as defense lines and the length between two outer masses and the middle mass, m2, as each defense line and the ball. The three-coupled oscillations showed similar distributions of the relative phase. However, the periodogram showed distinct periodicity. Thus, a more sophisticated model is needed to understand the behavior of the defense lines and the ball during football games.

日本語原作のマンガや文芸作品などでは.登場人物の性別が明かされずに物語が進み,途中で,性別が明かされることがある。この手法は,読み手の想像をかきたて物語を面白くする効果がある。それではそういった日本語原作のマンガや文芸作品が他の言語に翻訳された場合はどうなるのだろうか?英語や独語では,主語を省略することがほとんど不可能であるし性別が明白な代名詞を用いる。そこで本研究では,登場人物の本当の性別を伏せて物語が進む日本語作品が英語や独語に翻訳された場合に,どのように表現されたり,工夫されたりしているのかを解析した。その結果,日本語原作の直訳に近い翻訳例,逆に原作に忠実でない意訳された翻訳例が見出された。さらに原作よりも早く性別を明かしてしまっている翻訳例も見つかった。これらの翻訳は,翻訳者が日本人かどうかによって異なるようであった。本報告は,秋田大学教養基礎教育科目「総合ゼミ」の講座C「文化にみられる性」において、平成23年度I期の授業で展開された成果報告でもある。

While "Pygmy" hunter-gatherers were generally assumed to be the original inhabitants of the central African rain forest, recent studies have proposed the hypothesis that it is impossible to subsist by hunting and gathering alone in the tropical rain forests without some degree of dependence on agricultural products. This hypothesis has been debated among researchers of hunter-gatherer societies in different parts of the world. There have been, however, few studies on this issue that were based on sound data on the actual hunting and gathering life of the forest peoples. This paper examines the possibility of hunting and gathering life in the tropical rain forest, based on the data obtained from participant observation on molongo, a long-term hunting and gathering expedition, among the Baka in southeastern Cameroon. During the two and a half months of the expedition, the Baka subsisted solely on wild food resources, wild yams in particular, although it was during the dry season when food resources are generally thought to be scarce. The sustainability of such a forest life is examined in relation to the abundance and distribution patterns of wild food resources, hunting and gathering technologies, residential patterns and nomadic life style.

本論文では,専門用語を専門分野コーパスから自動抽出する方法の提案と実験的評価を報告する.本論文では名詞(単名詞と複合名詞) を対象として専門用語抽出について検討する.基本的アイデアは,単名詞のバイグラムから得られる単名詞の統計量を利用するという点である.より具体的に言えば,ある単名詞が複合名詞を形成するために連接する名詞の頻度を用いる.この頻度を利用した数種類の複合名詞スコア付け法を提案する.NTCIR1 TMREC テストコレクションによって提案方法を実験的に評価した.この結果,スコアの上位の1,400 用語候補以内,ならびに,12,000 用語候補以上においては,単名詞バイグラムの統計に基づく提案手法が優れていることがわかった.

古来よりエルサレム巡礼がキリスト教徒にとって最も聖なる行為であったことは言うまでもないが、当然のことながらその旅を支える者たちがいた。一四世紀から一六世紀前半の「聖地巡礼の黄金期」においては、ヴェネツィアのガレー巡礼船のパトロン(船主) たちがその主役であり、彼らに着目することは聖地巡礼という「聖なる移動」をまた異なる角度から照射することができる、ということを意味する。しかし、膨大な聖地巡礼史の分野において、パトロンに着目した研究はこれまでにほとんどない。その中で、ヴェネツィア側の史料を網羅的に分析したM・ニューエットの成果は特筆すべきものがあるが、聖地巡礼記という史料群の分析が不十分であるという問題が残されたままである。 そこで本稿では、ニューエットが明らかにしてくれたヴェネツィアのガレー巡礼船システムに関する成果と、聖地巡礼記を網羅的に分析した結果との突き合わせ作業を時系列的に行うことで、ガレー巡礼船網度の変遷およびパトロンという巡礼者を運搬した者たちの全体像の把握により近づくことを目的とする。
