This study aimed to examine the relationships between changes in the center of foot pressure (COP) during the static one leg standing posture and in the balance test on one leg with eyes closed. Subjects consisted of 51 healthy young males (height 173.1±4.3cm, body weight 66.9±5.9kg, and age 21.1±1.5years). Four COP factors were interpreted by applying factor analysis to a correlation matrix consisting of 32 parameters representing the 6 domains of distance, distribution of amplitude, area, velocity, power spectrum, and body sway vector which were used to evaluate COP sway. Unit time sway factor (F1) reflects movement distance (sway velocity) per unit time. Front-back sway factor (F2) and left-right sway factor (F3) reflect the amount of front-back sway and the amount of left-right sway, respectively. The high frequency band power factor (F4) reflects high frequency sway. The COP during the one leg standing posture for 90 sec was divided into three intervals (first interval : 0-30 sec, second interval : 30-60 sec, and third interval : 60-90 sec). F1 and F2 factors during the first interval were significantly higher than during the second and third intervals. The increase in front-back body sway may contribute to the ability to hold postural stability just after the front elevation of the right leg. F3 and F4 factors tended to increase with time. The duration time of balancing on one leg with eyes closed showed insignificant correlation with COP factors (F1-F4) in all intervals. COP factors may not be involved in balancing on one leg with eyes closed.

Antibody molecules produced by B cells are engaged in the humoral immunity. Antibodies have molecular diversity to respond specifically to each of innumerable species of antigen. Antibody molecular diversity is the immediate result of immunoglobulin gene diversity which is formed by complicated processes including VDJ rearrangement and is thought to reflect differentiation status of B cells. Somatic mutation occurs in these immunoglobulin genes after main VDJ rearrangement and also plays an important role in further widening of molecular diversity.In recent years, the significance of somatic mutation of immunoglobulin gene in B-cell differentiation process was made clear, and as the result, identification of the normal counterpart of tumor cells became possible on gene level studies, which had been judged mainly from histocytological and immunohistochemical studies.

Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) treatment induced hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis in senescence-accelerated mice (SAMP1/TA-1), but not in senescence-resistant control mice (SAMR1). SAMP1/TA-1 treated with LPS exhibited functional impairment of the hematopoietic microenvironment, which disrupted the dynamics of hematopoiesis. Macrophages are a major component of the bone marrow (BM) hematopoietic microenvironment, which regulates hematopoiesis. Qualitative and quantitative changes in activated macrophages in LPS-treated SAMP1/TA-1 are thought to contribute to the functional deterioration of the hematopoietic microenvironment. Thus, we examined the polarization of pro-inflammatory (M1) and anti-inflammatory (M2) macrophages, and the dynamics of macrophage production in the BM of SAMP1/TA-1 and SAMR1 after LPS treatment. After LPS treatment, the proportions of M1 and M2 macrophages and the numbers of macrophage progenitor (CFU-M) cells increased in both SAMP1/TA-1 and SAMR1. However, compared to the SAMR1, the increase in the M1 macrophage proportion was prolonged, and the increase in the M2 macrophage proportion was delayed. The increase in the number of CFU-M cells was prolonged in SAMP1/TA-1 after LPS treatment. In addition, the levels of transcripts encoding an M1 macrophage-inducing cytokine (interferon-γ) and macrophage colony-stimulating factor were markedly increased, and the increases in the levels of transcripts encoding M2 macrophage-inducing cytokines (interleukin (IL)-4, IL-10, and IL-13) were delayed in SAMP1/TA-1 when compared to SAMR1. Our results suggest that LPS treatment led to the severely imbalanced polarization of activated M1/M2 macrophages accompanied by a prolonged increase in macrophage production in the BM of SAMP1/TA-1, which led to the impairment of the hematopoietic microenvironment, and disrupted the dynamics of hematopoiesis.

1. 高温応答性ケニヨン細胞の応答温度の種間比較本年度は、「高温応答性ケニヨン細胞」がミツバチ科において保存されているか検証するため、ミツバチ科マルハナバチ属でゲノム情報が利用可能なセイヨウオオマルハナバチを用いて、kakuseiホモログを同定し、同様の高温曝露実験を行った。結果、ミツバチと異なり、kakuseiの発現量は38~40℃の間で上昇していた。このことから、キノコ体の高温選択的な応答性は、少なくともミツバチ科内では保存されていることがわかった。一方、セイヨウオオマルハナバチの高温応答性の閾値はミツバチ2種に比べて約6℃低かった。ミツバチとマルハナバチでは通常の生活温度(巣内温度)に約6℃の差がある。応答する閾値との相関を考えると、キノコ体の高温応答性細胞は、本来通常の生活温度から外れた高温時の温度制御に関わる可能性がある。2. 脊推動物と無脊椎動物に共通した初期応答遺伝子の同定kakuseiはミツバチ科昆虫にのみゲノム上に見出されるため、1.で明らかにしたキノコ体の高温応答性の進化的保存性を検証する際の指標としては不適当である。そこで、昆虫種を問わず広く利用可能な初期応答遺伝子の探索を試みた。ミツバチ脳にGABA(γ-アミノ酪酸)受容体の阻害剤Picrotoxinを投与することで神経活動を誘導したところ、脊椎動物で頻用される初期応答遺伝子の1つであるEgr-1のミツバチホモログ(AmEgrと命名)が発現上昇することを見出した。ゲノムデータベースを用いて他種におけるホモログを探索した結果、脊椎動物から線虫にまで広くホモログが見出され、汎用性の初期応答遺伝子として有望であると考えられた。これは脊椎動物と無脊椎動物で同じ遺伝子が神経興奮マーカーとして使用可能であることを示した初の知見であり(Ugajin et al. 2013)、関連学術領域に与えるインパクトは極めて大きいと考えられる。AmEgrの発現を指標にセイヨウミツバチのキノコ体における高温応答性を検証したところ、kakuseiを用いた際と同様に44~46℃の間で発現が上昇した。さらに、46℃曝露時のAmEgr発現細胞の分布パターンもkakusei発現細胞のものと類似しており、キノコ体の高温応答性を強く支持する結果であった。3. 哺乳類培養細胞を用いた高温応答性TRPチャネルの解析哺乳類培養細胞系を用いた解析では、ミツバチTRPチャネルは高温刺激に応答しなかった。近年、昆虫のTRPチャネルは哺乳類培養細胞では正常に機能しないとの報告もあり、ショウジョウバエS2細胞の利用を検討している。

The majority of all ethnic Lao live in northeastern Thailand and their mother tongue is the Lao language. But Thai government prohibited the usage of the name “Lao” and forced to call the Lao language as the Isan language and ethnic Lao as Isan.This study discusses young Lao's linguistic recognition about the Thai language, the Isan language and the Lao language. In 1999, I conducted a survey of young Lao's linguistic recognition on 438 college students in the northeastern Thailand.In this study, I propose the idea of “distance between two languages” to analize the difference of languages. I also apply this idea to three languages used in the northeastern Thailand, that is, the Thai language, the Isan language and the Lao language.The conclusion is that young Lao regard the distance between the Thai language and the Isan language as the inbetween of the same language and different languages. They also regard the distance between the Isan language and the Lao language as the inbetween of the same language and different languages. And they regard the Thai language and the Lao language are different languages.I also came to the conclusion that which language each ethnic group use depends on the difference of the status they are in the northeastern Thailand. Lao is bilingual of the Thai language and the Lao language, and under the state of diglossia. Khmer is trilingual of the Khmer language, the Thai language and the Lao language. Khorat is bilingual of the Khorat language and Thai language.

Pharmacists attended an interprofessional team meeting that included nurses and care workers at fee-based homes for the elderly to assess the association between medication, health status, and living conditions provided by care workers. A visually based comparative worksheet on a timeline was used. This study aimed to clarify the role of pharmacists in interprofessional collaboration. A total of 47 residents at 13 facilities were assessed, and drug deprescription or prescription changes were provided in 39 cases. The cases were classified according to the reason for the change, e.g., discontinuation of unnecessary medication, the possibility of a harmful event, examination of therapeutic effect, and improving drug adherence. The participation of pharmacists helped clarify information about medication and health status and contributed to reducing drug-related problems in many cases.

Spontaneous internal carotid artery dissection (CAD) is a relatively rare disease, with patients, including those with bilateral CAD, often recovering after conservative therapy. However, patients with symptomatic and progressive disease require urgent carotid artery stenting (CAS). If CAD extends to the petrous portion of the internal carotid artery (ICA), it is difficult to treat with a carotid stent alone. This report describes a rare case of consecutive spontaneous bilateral CAD that required an intracranial stent with an interval of 4 years between the first and second CAS. A 58-year-old man with a history of dyslipidemia was admitted for transient ischemic attacks. He underwent CAS with carotid and intracranial stents on the third day for the left CAD due to exacerbation of symptoms under antithrombotic therapy and new stroke on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). He recovered well. However, 4 years after the initial treatment, the patient was admitted again because of a sudden headache, photophobia, and transient weakness of the left lower limb. He was diagnosed with CAD on the contralateral side. He underwent CAS with carotid and intracranial stents due to progressive neurological deterioration under antithrombotic therapy. After treatment, he was clinically stable without any new infarctions on a follow-up MRI. He was discharged without neurological deficit. Our case of bilateral internal CAD treatment demonstrated that early revascularization with immediate stenting with carotid and intracranial stents in CAD contributes to the prevention of extensive neurological damage, thereby providing a favorable outcome in some cases.

運動主体感(Sense of agency)とは,自分が自分の運動を制御しているという感覚を指す。この感覚は,運動の感覚フィードバックに対しフィードバック制御を駆動する役割をもち,感覚入力と運動出力を紐付けるMediator の役割を担っていると考えられている。運動主体感の誘起には,運動に伴う内的予測などを含む感覚運動手がかりと,運動に直接関連しない知識や信念などの認知的手がかりが関与する。手がかり統合理論によると,状況に応じたこれら手がかりの信頼性に基づき,運動主体感への貢献度を決める重み付けが変化する。この理論に基づき,我々は運動制御時に感覚運動手がかりと認知的手がかりがどのように利用され運動主体感が導かれるのか,その重み付け変化(i.e., 手がかり統合戦略)の実態について検証を進めてきた。これらの研究成果を中心に,本稿では,運動主体感について運動制御との関係性を概観し,手がかり統合理論の観点からそのメカニズムを議論する。
