Intention-based semantics (IBS) serves as the paradigm in the field of speaker meaning analysis. However, it has grappled with a well-known problem: the infinite regress of a speaker’s intentions. Theorists such as Grice, Schiffer, Davis, and Green have tried to remedy the situation; however, no one has found any solutions until now. The present paper claims that the inability of IBS theorists to resolve the regress problem may be attributed to the conflict between two basic assumptions that they espouse: representationalism and the transparency of speaker meaning. When both are adopted alongside each other, as the current paper shows, the regress problem immediately emerges. It follows, then, that it would be prudent to reject IBS to sufficiently analyze speaker meaning.

Two remarkable results attained by Domain Theory, which serves as mathematical foundations for denotational semantics of programming languages, are explained and considered from philosophical viewpoints: 1) the analysis of recursion by the fix-point semantics and 2) the introduction of the notion of continuity and of compact elements. In particular, the author finds them conceptually illuminating in that firstly, they succeed in making explicit those unnoticed semantic elements lying behind the syntax of the languages which play essential roles in the construction and execution of recursive programs, and that secondly, they show the way to reconstruct various ordinary classical mathematical structures by virtue of complementing approximation processes to their infinite noncompact elements.

In this paper I would like to pursue two questions regarding the Passio Sanctarum Perpetuae et Felicitatis. The first is why Perpetua, a noble and educated young woman in Carthago, in 203 CE chose martyrdom, being fully aware of her death. The second question concerns the relation between the historical figure of Perpetua and the Passio as a literary product. It is often said that recounts of martyrdom intend to instrumentalize saintly people for the church. In this paper an alternative view with regard to the role of such books is considered. For Perpetua to be a Christian meant freedom (libertas) from Roman society and its gods (Passio, 18, 5). In the Roman Empire and cities many places were filled with statues of gods assigned to those places. Perpetua wanted to be free from these traditional places of symbolic “divine” presence. To her father she said (3, 1f) that, just as a vase could not be called by another name than ‘vase’, she could not be called by another name than ‘Christian’ (Christiana). To be called a Christian indicated her true identity and essence as a person which could not be given up without loosing herself. This is why she could not accept her father’s attempt at persuasion although she had been moved many times by his words. Recounts of martyrdom are commemorated in Christian churches for the purpose of community building and spiritual advancement. The saints of such recounts often become models for the believers, but sometimes seem to be mere products of the church. As to the Passio, the author indicates in 1, 6 the reason for writing his account, namely to enable believers to communicate with Perpetua. Perhaps the Passio was recited in the liturgy of her Memorial Day on May 7th. When it was read, believers could communicate with her through the Holy Spirit, because the church was to be the church of the dead and the living. I propose this to be the purpose of the Passio.

特集 : 社会学 社会心理学 文化人類学投稿論文The purpose of this investigation is to regard "2 -channel thread editing blog" as a new form of news communication, to identify the characteristics and processes of the news communication, and to present the possibility that these blogs can be examined from the perspective of several mass communication theories. "2-channel thread editing blog" is a famous blog genre for many Japanese Internet users. It contains articles whose recourses are selected from threads on "2-channel", the most popular anonymous bulletin board in Japan.This study classifies these blogs and its articles into two groups, "news" and "non-news", and considers the former a new form of news communication. This type of blogs functions as a news media by mediating news articles reported by traditional media, or reporting social events particularly occurring on the Internet.As a novel type of news media, "2-channel thread editing blog" presents some potentialities to be studied from the point of and by methods of mass communication theories or news communication researches, such as double geetkeeping, media effect theories, and so on.

哲学から体験へ。明治三〇年代、近代真宗の思想界において、そう総括すべき大きな転換が起こった。本論は、その転換期が生んだ思想の意義を、近角常観(一八七〇-一九四一)という真宗大谷派僧侶の思想と実践の検討により再考する。近角は学生時代、哲学研究に執心したが、その後は哲学を放棄し、個々人の体験を重視する宗教家へと自己形成を遂げた。だが、自らの救済体験の意義を、仏教史を貫く普遍的な要素によって根拠づけるという彼の方法は、その転身の前後を通して一貫していた。近角は、親鸞や釈尊など、真宗仏教史における至高存在の体験に、自らの体験を重ねて語るという言語実践を遂行したが、こうした体験の語りを、自己の信徒たちにも行わせた。近角の体験談を中心として、一つの体験談がまた別の体験談を生み出す、という構造がそこにはあった。明治三〇年代の真宗思想に起きた転換は、近角によって、独自の体験の言語空間の創出へとつながったのである。

要約 本論文では、"カウンセリングコンピテンス"という概念を中心として、カウンセラー教育プログラムについて検討を行った。カウンセラー教育において重要な概念となる「科学者−実践家モデル」や、心理臨床実践におけるエビデンスの扱い方についても概説した。本論文のキー概念であるカウンセリングコンプテンスの要因としては、①知識(knowledges)、②素質と経験(senses and experiences)、③人間観(哲学)と態度(veiwof human nature and attitudes)、④スキル(skills)、⑤臨床実践量(practices)の5つを取り上げ、それぞれの要因について詳細な説明を試みた。併せて、これらの要因を「カウンセリングの質」を測るための計算式に表現することも試みた。今後の課題としてはカウンセリングコンピテンスを測定する尺度を作成し、実証していくことが挙げられた。
