We are perhaps at a turning point for making cheminformatics accessible to scientists who are not computational chemists. The proliferation of mobile devices has seen the development of software or ‘apps' that can be used for sophisticated chemistry workflows. These apps can offer capabilities to the practicing chemist that are approaching those of conventional desktop-based software, whereby each app focuses on a relatively small range of tasks. Mobile apps that can pull in and integrate public content from many sources relating to molecules and data are also being developed. Apps for drug discovery are already evolving rapidly and are able to communicate with each other to create composite workflows of increasing complexity, enabling informatics aspects of drug discovery (i. e. accessing data, modeling and visualization) to be done anywhere by potentially anyone. We will describe how these cheminformatics apps can be used productively and some of the future opportunities that we envision.

The issue of the U.S. military bases in Okinawa has been a pawn in relations between the U.S. and Japan. Both sides seem to have been reluctant to find a real solution to the issue. This is because the solution would inevitably result in a reduced force presence in Okinawa and open a discussion on Japan's security weaknesses. It would raise questions such as: Should Japan revise article nine of its constitution? Should Japan have nuclear weapons? These are heavy topics for post-war Japan and no one seems keen to break the seal on these issues. The issue over the bases had therefore hardly been discussed until former Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama raised the issue. However, his failure to relocate the Futenma marine base led directly to his resignation. This report tries to change the view of Okinawa bases as a diplomatic "pawn" and instead to use them as a practical tool to open a new horizon in U.S.-Japan relations. This author proposes a solution that changes the terms of the debate into a win-win situation for both the Japanese government and Okinawa.

This paper examines the formation of history image and the relationship with development and the real world by taking up an image of the person who appears on historical novels. More specifically, this paper discusses the Ghost Story of Yotsuya, Juutarou IWAMI and Sasuke SARUTOBI and considered the difference between the forgotten existence and the existence left for the memory even now. A correlation with story culture and the real world is important. Moreover fans of entertainment works also referred to the tourism by visiting related places. I pointed out the importance of the archive facilities where it is supported.

近年わが国の生活環境は大きく変化し、家庭内の衣・食生活は多様化し、さらに高齢化が急速に進む中で、高齢者をめぐる家庭生活の状況も以前とは異なってきている。そこで本調査では女性の家事行動の実態と意識について多面的に把握しようとした。女性は、食料品よりも衣料品を買いに行くことが好きとした者が多かった。また、食料品の買物、料理作りなどの食生活に関する行動よりも、衣料品の買物、手芸など衣生活に関する行動をすることで、ストレスの解消になるとした者が多かった。実際の行動としては、生活の技術といわれる食生活関連の行動の方が衣生活関連の行動よりも頻度が高かった。女性の25〜34歳では、クリスマスや子供の誕生日に特別な料理を作るとした者が多く、パンや菓子作りをする割合も高かった。25〜64歳では、年齢が高くなるにつれて食器やおしゃれに関心をもち生活を楽しもうとする傾向がみられ、買物をすることは楽しくストレスの解消になるとした者が多かった。とくに衣料品の買物でストレスの解消になるとした者が高率であった。65歳以上の女性は、他の年齢と比べて惣菜や半調理品を購入する頻度が高く、外食頻度は低かった。そして、漬物や煮豆、行事食などを作ることが多く、夕食作りや夕食の後片付けなどを楽しむ傾向がみられた。すなわち、惣菜を購入する率は高く、その一方、料理を楽しいと意識し、伝統食の手作りなどを楽しむ傾向がみられ、これらは家事の簡便化指向と同時に、余暇として楽しむという二極分化現象とみることができる。女性で年齢の高い者は低い者よりも、みそ汁や漬物作り、夕食作りを楽しいとし、食卓を飾る、盛り付けに配慮するなど食生活を楽しむ傾向がみられた。本調査から作り慣れている料理は、高齢になったときに、容易に行うことができ、楽しみとして作ることができるのではないかと考えられる。

本稿では、明治維新直後に生じた外交問題として知られる、堺事件とその「殉難者」の近代日本における顕彰過程に焦点をあてた。近代という時間軸を通してこれを跡づけた場合、国家による評価の揺らぎや、ときに国家との相克を伴う地域の顕彰活動および歴史像の形成が析出された。それとともに事件現場の堺のみならず事件当事者の出身地である高知あるいは中央の政治家など、広範な顕彰主体の存在と時々の情勢に沿ったその変遷という顕彰の推移が明確となり、特に靖国合祀に至る経過を、初めて実証的に解明した。明治維新堺事件殉難者顕彰靖国神社合祀
