This paper investigated the peculiarity of a sentimental phenomenon called attachment to personal belongings. The aim is to examine the correlation between people and the belongings composing their living environment, in order to reveal what is important and meaningful for both their liver and their living environments. The Study looks at the relationship between experiences with belongings particularly close to the owner and feelings of attachment for them. A survey of experiences and sentiments about belongings with attachment was executed and factor analysis was used to bring out the components of attachment. The results verified the following: 1) in each group of samples with a similar tendency of factor scores, the experiences with belongings have something in common. 2) From the tendency of factor scores, there is a difference in attachment between things of the same kind. 3) The owners recognize the empirical products of relation to belongings. These results show the formation of an attachment is connected with various experiences with the belongings.

The bottom topography of lake Ashi-no-ko, in the Hakone volcano caldera, was examined using the SeaBat8101 narrow multi-beam sonar system. The purpose of micro-topographical observations of the lake bottom is to understand the tectonic relations between the historical formation-process of the caldera and the strike-slip motion in the Tanna-Hirayama active fault system. At the southeastern part of the lake, west of the Dougashima, undulations at the bottom such as swells, hollows, and stairs extending in the northwest-southeast direction, were observed. These bottom-forms show a northern extension of the Hakonemachi active fault, running along the east side of lake Ashi-no-ko. They may correspond to one of the north spray faults of the Kita-Izu active fault system, which is the source of the A.D.1930 Kita-Izu earthquake, and to motions of the western margin of the Manazuru micro-plate, in relation to caldera formation as a strike-slip basin.

This paper deals with the effect of the polarity and gap geometry on dc breakdown voltage characteristics of a pointto-plane gap in supercritical carbon dioxide (SC CO2) that is required to design a plasma reactor. In the experiments, the gap width d and the curvature radius of the point tip r were changed in the range of 80 to 300 μm and 50 to 170 μm respectively,and the CO2 state was controlled within the gas, liquid, and SC phases. The experimental results showed that a remarkable polarity effect appeared under certain gap conditions. As a result, it was found that negative polarity and a higher stressed electrode are desired conditions for the dc plasma reactor since an active corona supplying rich chemical radicals appears in SC CO2 under such conditions.

症例は66歳男性、倦怠感、色素沈着、爪甲分離などを主訴に当院総合診療科を受診。消化管内視鏡検査により上部、下部消化管にポリポーシスを認め、Cronkhite-Canada症候群(CCS)と診断した。受診時、Hb 15.6 g/dl、血清鉄248 μg/dl、総鉄結合能274 μg/dlであり、トランスフェリン鉄飽和率は90.5 %と高値を呈した。一方貯蔵鉄量を示す血清フェリチンは34 ng/mlと正常下限であった。CCSでは通常、鉄の吸収障害により血清鉄量、貯蔵鉄量は共に低値となりやすく、これらの結果は予期しないものであった。詳細な問診により患者は長期間に恵命我神散を服用し、そのほか鉄含有の多い食品を多量摂取していることが判明した。恵命我神散の成分にはウコンが含まれており、ウコンの成分であるクルクミンには鉄のキレート作用があることが報告されている。鉄分の過剰摂取および恵命我神散服用中止を指示し、10ヵ月後には貯蔵鉄、フェリチンともに減少を認めた。その後、CCSに対し、グルココルチコイド内服による治療を開始した。グルココルチコイド投与は患者の鉄分欠乏および他の症状を改善した。
