Hayashi family, which started from Hayashi Razan (林羅山、1583-1657), continuously served as leading delegation of Japanese intellectuals until 1811, the rupture of Japan-Korean relations. Because of being assigned for making the documents on Korean foreign policy, members of Hayashi family were frequently mentioned in Korean documents. Through closely investigating these documents, such as the Envoys travel accounts to the Japan (使行録), we could not only reveal the true state of the recognition of Korean side toward Hayashi family, but also how it changed with the Japan-Korea relations.

自治体や民間団体を主体として朝鮮通信使を見直す事業が振興している。これらは「日韓交流」を掲げる団体と各地の自治体による、地域を越えて記憶を共有しようとする試みとみることができる。本発表は、全国の各地で朝鮮通信使行列の再現が行われるようになった現象をとりあげこうした事業の発展過程で新たに作られていく記憶と忘却されていく記憶について論じる。

We consider the various causes for the resignation of female employees from the labor markets in Japan. We estimate employment probabilities in two female groups: university graduates and the under-senior high school graduates in all age groups. The results show that two factors are important in both groups, the number of young children and age. For women in their thirties and forties, the probability of employment is considerably higher in the under-senior graduates group than among university graduates.To determine an explanation for this, we compare the productivities of household production and market wage rate of females. By estimating the parametersof the production function where the inputs consist of family time and market goods, we suggest new microeconomic estimates of productivity in household production. The result shows that productivity in household production is higher among nonregular employees than regular employees.

[Purpose] The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a virtual reality (VR) program on cognitive function and balance in the elderly with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) attending G welfare center in Gurye. [Subjects and Methods] Twenty-four patients with MCI were studied. The patients were exposed to the VR program for 30 min per experiment, which was conducted 20 times for four weeks. [Results] The cognitive function and balancing ability of the experimental group, when compared to the control group, showed a statistically significant increase in Visual Span Test (VST), Word or Test (WCT), and Limit of Stability (LOS), which are the sub-categories of CNT 4.0, after the exposure to the program. In all test categories, the experimental group exhibited statistically significant differences compared to the control group. [Conclusion] Thus, the VR program is an effective intervention for the elderly with MCI.

年間を通じて高い気温と湿度が保たれるタイ王国では食材が豊富なこともあり、様々な発酵食品が存在しており、タイ料理の独特の風味や旨味に欠かせないものとなっている。これら発酵食品には乳酸菌が生息することが知られていて、風味や旨味の付与、また高温多湿における食品の保存に重要な役割を担っている。本稿では、様々なタイの発酵食品とそこに生息する乳酸菌の多様性について、著者のこれまでの調査結果を交えて概説する。

インターネットの高速化や利用範囲の拡大により、音楽、動画などをデジタルコンテンツを、ネットワーク上でやり取りすることが多くなり、それとともに著作権を無視した違法コピー、無断改変なども増加した。これを防止、抑制し、流通を支援する技術としてDRMがある。しかし、DRMには多種多様な種類の技術があり、DRMの導入検討者が自分に適したDRMを選ぶのが難しいという現状がある。そこで本論文ではこの状況を解消し、DRMの導入検討者の支援を行うために、複数の質問から導入検討者のニーズを分析し、権利者のニーズと一致するDRMの組み合わせを推薦するレコメンドシステムを提案する。

Objective Superior mesenteric artery (SMA) syndrome is characterized by the compression of the third segment of the duodenum between the SMA and aorta, resulting in duodenal obstruction. Because the symptoms of the syndrome are similar to those of functional dyspepsia (FD), this study aimed to examine whether or not patients with SMA syndrome were present among those diagnosed with FD. Methods Patients with an FD diagnosis underwent measurement of the angle and distance between the SMA and aorta by ultrasonography or computed tomography. Patients with an angle of ≤22° or with a distance of ≤8 mm between the SMA and aorta were diagnosed with SMA syndrome. Bacterial culture of the duodenal aspirate was also performed. Results Of the 46 FD patients, 5 (11%) met the criteria. All 5 were women with a body mass index significantly lower than the remaining 41 patients (18.7 vs. 24.0 kg/m2, p=0.003). In addition, all 5 patients had 105/mL or more bacteria in the duodenum. The symptoms of these five patients were treated through dietary and postprandial posture counselling with or without medication. Conclusion Patients with SMA syndrome were observed among underweight women diagnosed with FD. Their symptoms may be associated with bacterial overgrowth.

2004年は観測史上最多となる10個の台風が日本に上陸した.その中でも台風0416号と0418号は瀬戸内海沿岸に甚大な高潮被害をもたらした.そこで,メソ数値気象モデルWRFと海洋数値モデルPOMの結合計算により,同経路を有する台風0416号と0418号を対象に瀬戸内海で発生した高潮の再現計算をおこなった.本研究では,高潮発生の主要因である吹き寄せ効果に主眼を置き,両台風の被害地域の違いを解析した.高松,宇野,松山,神戸の4地点で実測値と計算値を比較した結果,台風0416号において,高松では台風通過後,宇野では接近前に潮位偏差の計算値が実測値よりも過大評価していた.また,類似経路をとった台風でも最接近時の通過場所が海上もしくは陸上の違いで風向が異なるほか,潮位偏差が大きくなる海域についてもその風系の影響を受けて違いが生じることが明らかとなった.
