橋本孝先生古希記念論文集The characteristics of Italian Mannerism as represented by Vasari and Bronzino were these ; the flattening of figures, their action in two dimensions, the isolation of principal figures and groups of figures. It was illustrated by Vasari in the explanation of the word " maniera " of his " The Lives of the Painters, Sculptors and Architects" that these characteristics were used for the purpose of creating the graceful figures. The same characteristics mentioned above can been seen in the painting of Pieter Bruegel the Elder, such as " The Battle between Carnival and Lent ", " Children's Games ", " The Peasant's Wedding " and " The Dance of the Peasants ", which he worked out after his journey in Italy. We must, however, emphasize that he did not make use of any graceful figures as his subjects, for he suggested the universal human being in the form of peasants in the same manner as he arranged all sorts of things in nature according to the universal order shown in his landscape painting. Here we can recognize the original quality of Mannerism that Bruegel established in his Flanders.

一般に鳴禽類では,メスの囀りは一般的ではないが,著者らは1998年5~7月に,山梨県清里において,コルリの繁殖生態を調査中に,コルリのメスが囀るのを観察•記録することができた。観察したのは繁殖期の後半(6月下旬)で,2つのなわばり内の巣で,メスが巣内ビナに給餌を行っていた時期と,巣立ち雛を連れている時期に観察され,ビデオ撮影•録音された。またヒナが巣立った直後に発見した別のなわばり内の巣のメスも,巣立ちビナを連れながら,さえずっているのが観察された。メスの囀りにもいくつかのレパートリがあったが,オスの囀りと異なり,囀り4パターンの中,2パターンにおいて,オスの囀りに特徴的な「チッ,チッ,チッ…」という前奏が聞かれなかった。メスはオスよりも低い声で,また,オスよりも弱い声で囀っていたが,囀りのパターンは部分的にはよく似ている傾向が見られた。メスが囀ることの意味は,まだよくわからないが,人の巣への接近という状況下で起こっていることから,メスによる巣の防衛行動に関連した機能があると思われた。

This paper presents plug-in automatic charge of omnidirectional mobile robot with active casters. In this system, a camera on the robot detects an outlet on wall and a plug on the robot is inserted in the outlet by only movement of robot. Because this system needs no stations for automatic charge of robot, this system provides space saving and improvement of efficiency for robot task. Outlet is detected by feature values of contours. Distance and angle of outlet are measured by geometric relation of object and picture. Furthermore, it is confirmed that camera enables robot to approach outlet by experiment. Hereafter, robot will be installed plug and experiment of plug-in automatic charge will be tried.

クロルフェロセン(2),1,1-ジク導ルフェロセン(7)およびプロムフェロセン(10)へのn-ブチルリチウムならびにフェニルリチウムの反応を検討し,(2),(7)ではリチウム化は優先的にクロルの隣接位に起こり,ハロゲン-金属交換反応はわずかであることを,カルボキシル化反応での生成物の構造などから明らかにした。一方,ブロムフェロセンは圧倒的にハロゲン-金属交換反応を行なってフェロセン(1)を高収率で生成する。(2)のリチウム化を加熱下にフェニルリチウムによつて行なうと,若干のフェニルフェロセン(6)が生成する。これはハライドの脱離によるフェロサイン中間体の生成を示唆するように思われるが,o-リチオハロベンゼンの場合にくらべて脱離はきわめて困難である。また,(2)および(7)のリチウム化を経て,それぞれビス(2-クロルフェロセニル)水銀(12)およびビス(2,1'ジクロルフェロセニル)水銀(14)を合成した。(12)のテトラサイクロン中での熱分解反応を検討したところ,生成物は予想外にもフェロセン(1)であつた。

In addition to impaired physical activity, adult GH deficiency (GHD) can decrease quality of life (QOL). Hence, assessment of QOL is important to evaluate the efficacy of GH replacement therapy. This study aimed to identify factors that may be predictive of long-term improvement in QOL among clinical/laboratory variables during GH replacement therapy. The analysis included 83 Japanese adults with GHD who participated in the Hypopituitary Control and Complications Study (HypoCCS). Correlations between the change from baseline in clinical/laboratory variables at 6 months and the change from baseline in Quality of life (Short-Form 36 [SF-36] component scores) at 12 months were examined. Unexpectedly, all component scores were negatively correlated with the change in fasting plasma glucose concentration (FPG) (physical component summary [PCS], r = -0.456; mental component summary [MCS], r = -0.523; role/social component summary [RCS], r = -0.433). The change in MCS was positively correlated with the change in insulin-like growth factor-1 standard deviation score (IGF-1 SDS) (r = 0.417). The change in PCS was positively correlated with the change in body fat (r = 0.551). The change in RCS was positively correlated with the change in waist circumference (r = 0.528). Short-term changes in several clinical/laboratory variables, most notably FPG and IGF-1 SDS, were correlated with long-term changes in QOL. The clinical importance of these correlations for predicting GH replacement treatment efficacy warrants further investigation.

日本国内で流通しているバナナであるキャベンディッシュ種 (CA) , ラカタン種 (LA) およびセニョリータ種 (SE) の成熟果の糖度, 滴定酸度, クエン酸量およびカロテン量を測定した。LAおよびSEの糖度の平均±標準偏差はそれぞれ23.7±1.2, 25.4±0.7 Brix %であり, CA (20.3±1.1 Brix %) に対して有意に高値を示した。滴定酸度およびクエン酸量はCAに対してLAが有意に高値を示した。α-カロテン量はCAが26±8, LAが167±62, SEが108±10 μg/100 gであった。β-カロテン量はCAが26±6, LAが236±53, SEが205±22 μg/100 gであった。α-, β-カロテン共LA, SEはCAに対し有意に高値を示した。LAのα-およびβ-カロテン量は, 4月と6月に低く, 8, 9月に高値を示す傾向が見られたが, 月間における値の違いに有意差は認められなかった。

本稿では,学生への倫理教育と研究者の倫理について述べる。前半では学生への倫理教育のなかで,しばしば問題視されるコピペレポートを取り上げる。具体的には大学の初年次教育が必要になった背景に触れ,コピペレポートに対する方策や機械的な抑止力等について述べる。後半では,研究者の研究倫理,研究ガバナンスについて述べる。近年の研究者を取り巻く状況や,それに関連するさまざまな不正が指摘されている。これらにまつわる事例として,オープンアクセスジャーナルや査読にまつわる問題等とその対応を取り上げる。最後に,不正を起こさせないガバナンスの必要性について述べる。

This paper presents a unified analysis of isotropic out-of-plane shear problems containing two circular elantic inclusions and shows the analytical solutions. The applied forces considered in this paper are longitudinal shear stress at infinity, concentrated force, screw dislocation, dipole force, dipole dislocation and distributed forces, at arbitrary positions. The analysis is based on the complex variable method using the Mobius transformations by Honein and Herrman. Several numerical examples are given by graphical representations.
