頭頸部領域の心身症に対する認知行動療法では, 症状を悪化・維持させている習慣行動や症状に対する認知的評価が中心的な治療ターゲットであり, その有効性が明らかにされている. 舌痛症およびドライマウスに関しては, 認知的要因の重要性を指摘する研究は存在するものの, 回避行動や安全行動の重要性についての報告はこれまで存在してないが, 症状を悪化・維持させている習慣行動を治療要素に取り入れることで, 良好な結果が得られた. 舌痛症およびドライマウスに対しては, 認知的要因への介入に加えて, 回避行動や安全行動などの習慣行動を治療対象とすることで, より効果的な治療の提供が可能になると考えられる. また, 舌痛症やドライマウス以外の頭頸部の心身症に対しても, 症状を悪化・維持させている習慣行動や症状に対する認知的評価に基づく認知行動療法が効果的な治療法となる可能性があるといえる.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the methodology of using Geographical InformationSystem(GIS)for the analysis of local government finance.In recent years, policy research using GIS has increased due to the free availability of GISsoftware. However, very few studies in the field of local government finance in Japan utilizingGIS have been conducted so far.Therefore, this paper presents three specific examples of analysis using GIS concerning issues in local government finance theory.The first is a spatial analysis of intergovernmental fiscal relations using coropleth maps. Ishowed how to visually confirm the adjacency and spatial concentration of policy choices, whichcannot be handled by ordinary vector data.Second, I presented a method of analyzing the classification of administrative districts in policy analysis based on geographic concentration rather than city divisions.Third, I presented a method for quantitatively confirming the spatial concentration of a particular class or administrative demand applying Tobler’s first law of geography.

目的:歯周病は歯周病細菌により引き起こされる炎症性疾患であり,発症により唾液中の酸化ストレスマーカーが上昇,治療により減少することから,活性酸素が関与する疾患の一つと考えられている.本研究では,軽度から中等度の歯周病を有するボランティアを対象に,ユビキノール(還元型コエンザイムQ10)の摂取が歯周組織の臨床症状,口臭,唾液の抗酸化能に及ぼす効果を検討することを目的とした.材料と方法:被験者を2群に割り付け,実験群には還元型コエンザイムQ10(50mg)を含むサプリメントを,対照群にはプラセボを毎食後摂取させ,4,8週後に口腔内診査,口臭検査および唾液の採取を行った.成績:投与前後での臨床症状では,実験群でプラークの付着程度およびプロービング時の出血点の割合,対照群でプロービング時の出血点の割合に有意な低下が認められた.抗酸化能は,実験群ではやや増加したが,対照群では有意な低下がみられた.口臭の評価では,実験群で低下する傾向がみられた.結論:本結果から,還元型コエンザイムQ10の服用は歯周病による口腔内の症状改善に有用である可能性が示唆された.

Down syndrome in humans is caused by trisomy of chromosome 21. DSCR4 (Down syndrome critical region 4) is a de novo-originated protein-coding gene present only in human chromosome 21 and its homologous chromosomes in apes. Despite being located in a medically critical genomic region and an abundance of evidence indicating its functionality, the roles of DSCR4 in human cells are unknown. We used a bioinformatic approach to infer the biological importance and cellular roles of this gene. Our analysis indicates that DSCR4 is likely involved in the regulation of interconnected biological pathways related to cell migration, coagulation and the immune system. We also showed that these predicted biological functions are consistent with tissue-specific expression of DSCR4 in migratory immune system leukocyte cells and neural crest cells (NCCs) that shape facial morphology in the human embryo. The immune system and NCCs are known to be affected in Down syndrome individuals, who suffer from DSCR4 misregulation, which further supports our findings. Providing evidence for the critical roles of DSCR4 in human cells, our findings establish the basis for further experimental investigations that will be necessary to confirm the roles of DSCR4 in the etiology of Down syndrome.

There is, at least in the West, a long-standing difficulty with knowledge in education. This may have arisen from a deep distrust of the value of dead or useless, disconnected ‘facts’ such as was parodied by Charles Dickens through his awful caricature of ‘Gradgrind’. But distrust was reinforced by influential scholarly work such as that from Michael Young in 1971 who in Knowledge and Control communicated influential arguments about how the school curriculum, through its selection of knowledge, favoured the elite and alienated the majority of young people. This article opens up a discussion about what kind of school curriculum is appropriate for young people now and in the future – as a pedagogic right. We argue that the distrust of knowledge among progressive educationists has led to what we name as ‘Future2ism’. Such a skills or competence-led curriculum thinking is not, we argue, in the interests of children, especially the disadvantaged. Michael Young, who wrote about the elitist ‘knowledge of the powerful’ in the 1970s has himself revised, or extended, his thinking by pointing out (Young 2008) that such specialist knowledge is also powerful knowledge. Thus, if policy makers, or school leaders, decide that it is better for ‘less academic’ children to receive a differentiated curriculum to suit their ‘needs’ then they are denied access to powerful knowledge. This is unfair on a number of levels; not least it reinforces social and economic divisions. In the article, I describe the rise of Future 2 curriculum thinking as a response to the long-known inadequacies of the ‘traditional’ school curriculum, since at least Gradgrind. But despite its superficial attractions, and its appeals to ‘creativity’ and ‘twenty-first century skills’, the weaknesses of Future 2 thinking are exposed. Following this we then explore what a Future 3 curriculum may look like – one that is knowledge-led but progressive and conscious of the pupils we teach, who are seem as agentive and diverse. The key to Future 3 is to grasp the significance of the discipline expressed as powerful knowledge – in the case of this article, geography. This is challenging, for powerful knowledge cannot easily be expressed on the page – through a list of ‘key concepts’ for example. Rather than a list, it requires specialist understanding of the subject’s goals and purposes expressed more as a system of thought and enquiry, which itself is dynamic being subject to contestation and change. In this sense, pupils (all pupils) are inducted into the discipline of knowledge-making, where the quality of argument matters, where evidence needs to be identified and evaluated and where reliable conclusions drawn (but nevertheless never beyond contestation or challenge). The article draws upon an international project called GeoCapabilities which has explored these ideas with particular reference to their implications for high-quality teaching and the need for teachers to see themselves as curriculum leaders – as professionals with responsibility for enacting a Future 3 curriculum.

米軍が撮影した沖縄戦、米政府の沖縄の出先機関「米国民政府」が記録した占領期の沖縄の姿、これらの映像や写真が沖縄県内の公文書館やメディアに大量にアーカイブされている。その映像資料から私たちは沖縄の歩んできた現代史を辿った上で、今の沖縄について深く知ることができる。さらに、どういう未来を構築すべきなのかを考える基盤にもなるだろう。筆者は、沖縄県公文書館の映像収集と公開の取り組み、沖縄のテレビ局が60年に渡ってアーカイブしてきた映像や番組を地域貢献や新たなコンテンツ制作のためにどう公開・活用しているのかを調査した。その結果、アーカイブの持つ、新たな知を生み出し人々と地域を結びつける力をあらためて確認できた。

In this paper, we will examine how the succession of Anjoji-ryu priests is administered. Anjoji-ryu is part of the Shingon sect of Buddhism. To examine the succession mentioned above, we will research the initiation records: records of the education conducted by successive priests in Shokoan Temple, as well as biographies of priests. In addition, we will compare the current line of succession of Anjoji-ryu and the following two documents owned by the Kokudennzan Jizoji Temple: "Anryu-shoto-kechimyaku(安流正統血脉)", and "Shokoan-kechimyaku (正興庵血脉)", which both record the succession of Anjoji-ryu priests at Shokoan Temple.

It is well known that elastomer surfaces vary friction behavior with the sliding conditions. These frictional characteristics depend on interfacial dissipation of viscoelastic asymmetric deformation and adhesion. As adhesion plays a dominant role in such friction behavior at very low sliding velocities, adhesive friction of elastomer is focused and discussed. The one mechanism of adhesive friction force generation is macroscopic dissipation of fracture and healing of contact junction. The other one is microscopic dissipation of attachment and deformation of molecular chain of elastomer. It is shown that the combination of these two mechanisms can explain the friction characteristics at very low speed conditions.

Up to date the geology and palaeontology of the Okushiri Island off Hokkaido has been studied by some investigators. The writers carried out the geological review and the study of the Tertiary marine diatoms collected from the southern area of this island. The conclusions are as follows: (1) In the geological survey the upper part of the Senjo Formation consisting of siltstone and the Muejitna Formation called by (SUZUKI and SONOKI, 1936) seem to be synchronous and heterofacies to each other. Then these facies were newly unified by one of the writers, Hata, as the Yoneoka Formation. (2) The two samples from the Yoneoka Formation is clearly distinguished by dominant and characteristic diatom species, Coscinodiscus marginatus, Denticula kamtschatica and the genus Thalassiosira (T. antiqua, T. decipiens, T. nidulus, T. oestrupi and T. zabelinae). No combination of species composition of four categories (21 diatom taxa in a random count of 200 marine planktonic species) used by KOIZUMI (1968) for recognition of the diatom zones in Tertiary sediments on the Oga Peninsula, Akita Prefecture, Northeast, Japan, occurs in this formation. The Yoneoka samples may be correlated with the assemblage of the Maido Formation (upper Miocene) of the Ajigasawa district, Aomori Prefecture, Northeast Japan, studied by Koizumi, (1966) corresponding to the Kitaura Formation of the Oga Peninsula. (3) The Tsurikake Formation are characterized with the six extinct species, Denticula nicobarica, Cosmiodiscus intersectus, Synedra jouseana, Thalassiosira cfr. kisselevii, T. usatschevii and Stephanopyxis lineata. This formation is assumed to be represent the lower part of the middle Miocene of this area, according to the palaeontological evidences of the molluscan fauna and the planktonic foraminifers of the Nishikurosawa's type (Gobigerina praebulloides, G. scitula and Sphaeri dinellopsis subdehiscens). (4) The ranges of following species, Denticula kamtschatica, Cosmiodiscus intersectus, Synedra jouseana, Thalassiosira usatschevii and T. zaberinae, reported byJoust (1962) to be restricted to the Pliocene are found to extend into the Miocene in this area, though already their ranges was reported by KOIZUMI (1966) in the Northeast Japan and SHESHUKOVA-PORETZKAYA (1967) in Sakhalin and Kamtshatka of the Far East. The predominant species, Denticula nicobarica, of the Tsurikake Formation also was reported by SIMONSEN and KANAYA (1961) to occur in the uppermost Miocene in California, U.S.A.
