A number of consumer's goods which contain natural uranium and thorium are circulated in the familiar living environment. Based on various kinds of information sources, 20 kinds of these consumer's goods were collected and their radioactive concentrations were measured by using ICP-MS and Ge semiconductor detector. As this result, it was found that the concentrations of uranium and thorium in the consumer's goods used at home and industries were below 34Bq/g and below 270Bq/g, respectively. Next, the concentrations of daughter nuclides were not so different from the ones of uranium or thorium, which showed that the secular radioactive equilibrium held between both concentrations.In addition, the radiation exposures for public consumer were evaluated when four kinds of typical consumer's goods frequently used in daily life are utilized. The results computed by MCNP-4C code were below 250μSv/y.

In this investigation, we studied the utilty of electric or mechanical stimuli as visual substitutes. We used mechanical and electric stimuli to present characters and colors respectively. For the reduction of learning time and the increase of recognition rate, we devised an apparatus which is connected to a microcomputer and can present Japanese sentences, including Chinese characters, with a 10 × 10 array of 100 vibrators.Color recognition is achieved by using electrical stimuli. Electric stimuli were given with two Ag-AgCl electrodes attached to the root of middle finger. Long pulse (feels warm) stands for red, short pulse (feels cold) stands for blue and a sequence of 10 pulses per second (feels like twitter) stands for green. The current value was 200 μA.<BR>In this investigation, we examined 25 subjects. The recognition rate was 100% for most three color (red, blue and green) .

進まぬ日本と外国のFTA(自由貿易協定)締結を横目に、世界各国・地域は着々とFTA網構築を進めている。 アジア周辺地域とのFTAで先行し、巨大経済圏である米国、欧州連合(EU)とのFTA発効が目前の韓国の動きは先に紹介した通り。日本が今年10月にようやく正式合意に達したインドとのFTAも、既に発効済みだ。

Barren grounds in coastal area are serious problems in Japan and throughout the world. Although several factors have been proposed to account for barren grounds, we have especially focused on lack of dissolved iron for restoring seaweed beds. It has been developed a method that the mixture of steelmaking slag and humus materials, such as composts, were supplied in seawater. A concentration of dissolved iron can be increased by using the method, since complexes, iron-humates, are produced from iron in steelmaking slag and humic substances in compost. In this study, we evaluated the effect of humic substances in this method for increasing dissolved iron concentration. A laboratorial iron elution test by using actual seawaters was attempted. Three kinds of samples for iron elution, only steelmaking slag, only humus materials, and a mixture of steelmaking slag and humus materials, were prepared. The change of iron concentration in each small tank had been monitored. We found that iron elution rate in the case of the mixture of steelmaking slag and compost was faster than that in the case of only steelmaking slag. Furthermore, it was expected that the characteristic of the structure of humic substances were related to increase iron elution from steelmaking slag. The mixture of steelmaking slag and humus materials was more effective not only for increasing iron concentration in seawater and but also for extending the life time of Fe elution.

本稿では, 課税情報を用いた社会保障制度における低所得者対策のあり方の考察のために, その歴史的検討と『全国消費実態調査』の個票から市町村民税非課税世帯の推計を行った。世帯主年齢65歳以上の非課税世帯率は現役世代の非課税世帯率を大幅に上まわるものであることから, 現行の税制のまま, 市町村民税非課税世帯を低所得者対策に用いることは高齢者に便益を集中させる恐れがある。This study performs a historical consideration and an estimation of non-taxable households from individual data on the "National Survey of Family Income and Expenditure" and uses tax information to explore ideal conditions of measures for low-income people in the social security system. From the fact that non-taxable households aged 65 and older greatly exceed the non-taxable, currently active households, there is a concern that under the current tax system, using non-taxable household for low-income people measures will result in concentrating benefits in advantages to the elderly.小特集 : 社会保障制度の課題 : 新しいアプローチと分野

地上波のテレビ番組において,30 年程前までは「映像の補足説明」に過ぎなかった文字テロップが,今や「映像」と「音声」に並び立つ主要な表現手段の一つとなっている。現在地上波で放送されているテロップを目的と機能に沿って細かく分析すると大きく10 のカテゴリーに分類されるが,その中でも1990 年代以降,急激に増加したのがサイドテロップである。テレビのリモコン普及とともに,ザッピング対策を主な目的として始まったサイドテロップの現状を分析すると,番組のジャンルごとに大きな特徴が見られた。 サイドテロップの目的には大きく「視聴者の理解を助けること」と「視聴者の興味を引き付けること」の二つがあるが,報道情報番組においては前者が,バラエティ番組においては後者が主な目的となっており,さらに報道情報番組ではその色調によって番組のイメージカラーを印象づけて類似番組との差別化を図る手段となり,バラエティ番組ではカラフルな色づかいにより画面を華やかにする役割を担うなど,多様な目的を持つようになっていることがわかった。過去30 年を通して,テロップが地上波の番組に質的変化をもたらしたのである。

With the fall of Old Japan in 1945,Japanese National Holidays derived from the country's long traditon and history were either replaced or abolished completely. The occupying force,the USA,compelled Japan to change the names of these holidays,which meant that Japan,under the persistent pressure of the USA's absolute policy,had to be subservient to the Uncle Sam's patronizing advice of cultural transformation to make a new start as a demilitarized,peaceoriented country. These demands included not only the rewriting of the National Constitution but also of the history of Japan,especially the pre-historic period in which abundant ethnic myths have represented national identity as that of an agricultural tribe. Although in reality it seems hard for us to expel the still-occupying foreign military forces from the air base of our country,we would at least like to regain the cultural independence that we have enjoyed in our long history. By reexamining the character of national holidays in the past,we can,ironically,perceive a culture analogous to ours in the West before their coming into Christendom. In pagan days,people all over the world worshipped the order of nature. Traditions such as adoring trees and woods and the preservation of what they had in the past have helped to keep human being from destroying their environment. To know our past is to foretell our future. I hope my small study in this report will contribute in some way to the social-environmental studies of Kure University.

「宇宙からみた地球は青かった」.宇宙から見たゴルフ場は, 緑としてはうつらない.牧場や田畑, 森林とは異なるからである.つまり, 太陽光線の吸収面としての緑でなく, 反射面となるためである.ゴルフ場造成前の里山, すなわち雑木林は緑であった.ここにゴルフ場の持つ自然破壊の原点がある.ゴルフは英国のスコットランドで羊飼い達が羊の休養時に自分達が持っている杖で小石を打って遊んだのがその起源といわれている.今から約600年前のことである.オランダ語のコルフ(Kolf)がゴルフの語源であると伝えられている.1754年, スコットランドのセント・アンドリュースにゴルフクラブが創設され, これが, 今でいうゴルフ場の総元締めといわれている.英国でゴルフは始まったが, この競技を育てたのはスコットランド人であった.茶の貿易商, アーサーグルームが明治30年に六甲山に4ホールのゴルフコースを造成したのがわが国におけるゴルフ場の始まりである.明治36年, 神戸ゴルフクラブとして9ホールに増設して正式に発足した.

ヒラタケの菌床栽培において、培地中に添加した殺菌剤、チアベンダゾール(TBZ)の子実体による吸収について調査した。試験区は対照区のほか、それぞれの培地中に常用量(1区)、その10倍量(2区)そして50倍量(3区)のTBZを添加した。これらの培地でヒラタケを栽培し、2回にわたり発生した子実体を採取した。子実体試料のほか菌掻き時に採取した菌糸体および培地についても残留分析を行った。分析は農薬登録保留基準ハンドブック等に従い抽出、精製後、螢光検出器付きの高速液体クロマトグラフで定量した。その結果、TBZを添加した区で発生した子実体試料のすべてにおいてTBZが検出されたが、その検出値は常用量区においては、環境庁による野菜(きのこ類を含む)の農薬登録保留基準値を超えなかった。また、子実体での検出量は一次発生と二次発生とに大きな差はなかったが、柄部での検出量は傘部の2〜4倍量であった。一方、採取した子実体には2区では若干の、3区ではかなりの、柄部の短小化や傘部の変形等の品質低下と収量の減少が見られた。
