本論では,特許出願に対して特許法 29 条 1 項の新規性を拒絶理由とした特許審査官が発行する拒絶理由通知書を対象とし,本願と引用文献の間で対比が明示されている名詞および複合名詞を抽出する.その語の類似が 1) 文字列照合,2) 同義語・類義語,3) シソーラス (上位・下位概念,全体・部分) のいずれでも抽出できない語に対して構文解析の手法による類似性の向上を検証した.さらに,この結果を特許文における類似語として意味を拡張していくことにより特許用知識辞書を構築することが可能となり,出願における先行調査や技術調査に役立つことを示した.

Japanese students of English, like most foreigners, are apt to use the strong form, when the weak form is required, in their pronunciation of English. They tend to pronounce the second syllables of purchase, village like chase, age and put the same vowel quality to the vowel "o" of confide, confidence; politics, political; come, welcome. Hardly any distinction is made between the vowel "u" of suppose and that of supper. In pronouncing I.P.A. [ə], we should be on our guard against the use of such vowels as [a], [ɑ] in place of murmuring obscure vowels. The strong [i] vowel is to be used in the first (not in the second) syllables of city, busy, women, pretty, etc. We have to learn that the weak form [əm] (and contracted form [m]) is usual in a sentence like I am [I'm] tired, whereas the strong form is always used in I really am tired. The same is true of is in Who is coming?-He is. It is well known that the pronunciation of British English has, on the whole, greater varieties of weak forms than the American pronunciation, in which the secondary stress is of greater significance. In this paper I have tried to point out, with many examples of words and sentences, the importance of learning and using the weak form, which plays a far more important role in the pronunciation of English than in other European languages and in Japanese.

この論文は、新渡戸稲造(1862〜1933)の著作において日本人の生活法についての見解や意見を検討することにより、彼の頭を始終悩ましていた「広い意味のモーラル」を明らかにする試みであった。その見解と意見は、6つの概念で括ることができた。すなわち無作法、我儘の振舞、消極性、外的標準、黙思、物事を善用する心がけである。新渡戸稲造は、黙思および物事を善用する心がけを日本人の心に採り入れることによって、無作法、我儘の振舞、消極性、外的標準のような日本人の習慣を変えて、内的基準を持った人格、世界人としての日本人を創造しようとした。彼の理想は、西洋と東洋の長所を結合することでよりよい哲学を創設し、直観の精神を土台として科学を応用することであったが、それは、現在においても実現されることを待っている大いなる夢である。

Recently in Japan, aging of population structure has been going on, and then people with impaired vision, such as presbyopia or cataract are rapidly increasing due to physical depression, accompanied by aging, as well as low vision or impaired color vision which are typical visual impairments. These social situations have resulted in the requirement for the development of "Universal Design Font".The Universal Design Font differs from any other conventional fonts in its design concept, which focused on its usage as display font and designed it with a due consideration to the concept of universal design.

There is a similarity between the distribution of prime numbers and the pattern of earthquake occurrence. Earthquakes occur in a discrete manner in time and space. When viewed as a whole, however, we find some laws, such as Gutenberg-Richter law, that govern the entire earthquakes that seem to be individually independent. A similar phenomenon can be observed also in the world of number. The most basic example is the distribution of the prime numbers in integers. We consider a correspondence between earthquakes and prime numbers. We parameterize occurrence time of earthquakes as the prime numbers and magnitude of earthquakes as the interval of prime numbers. Then we obtain a relationship similar to Gutenberg-Richter law. We call the model obtained by this correspondence as "arithmetic seismic activity model". If we can parameterize earthquakes using prime numbers, knowledge that has been cultivated in the number theory can be used for understanding of earthquakes. The distribution of prime numbers is related to the distribution of zeros of Riemann zeta function. Researches are in progress to understand the zeros of the Riemann zeta function as an eigenvalue problem of quantum dynamical system. Earthquake may be modeled as a phenomenon corresponding to a change in the energy level of a quantum dynamical system associated with prime numbers.

What kind of special features did "the Japanese Colonial Empire"have in the general history of modern colonial empires?In recent years, we can find new developments in the research of thehistory of modern empires and the history of Japanese empire. However,the trend has not yet resulted in the stage of discussing specialfeatures from a comparative-historical view, relating to the "Japaneseempire" to general "empires". As a first step, the purpose of this paperis to look back upon the history of the colonial rule of Japan over about50 years and to summarize some special features. As we reach 60 yearsafter the defeat of Japan, it must be worth showing such a trial todiscuss the source of Japan's influence on modern East Asian history.We discuss special features found in the rule of modern Japanesecolonial empire, summarizing the four points below: (1) Late-comingimperialism, (2) Neighbor invasive imperialism, (3) Inland assimilationprinciple, and (4) Industrial development principle.
