Vigan is one of the most preserved Spanish colonial towns in the Philippines. With numerous historical buildings and houses, UNESCO registered Vigan as the World Heritage in December 1999. As an entrepot flourished by Chinese mestizo residents, Vigan forms an amalgam of native, Chinese and Spanish cultural landscape. The public spaces such as the poblacion (city center) strongly reflects Leyes de Indias (Laws of Indies): plaza surrounded by cathedral, convent, city hall, and relatively grid street pattern. Yet, deviation from the Spanish colonial city planning concept is visible, in comprising two main plazas, and in the indistinct racial residential separation. The paper is composed of : administration history of Vigan and the Philippines ;reference to the Leves de Indias colonial law and other Hispanized towns ; and considerations on block formation, road width, and lot division in Vigan. In conclusion, this paper proposes 3×3 block subdivision style and the modified use of Spanish module svstem in Vigan.

12歳男。自転車走行中にバイクと接触し, 左側腹部痛を来たした。検査所見で白血球増加, 貧血, LDH・CK上昇を, CTで左腎上極の断裂と周囲の血腫形成を認めた。血管造影を施行し, 左腎上極へ分枝した動脈からの出血を認め, コイルによる選択的動脈塞栓術(TAE)を行った。しかし受傷後2日目に左側腹部痛増強と肉眼的血尿が出現し, 血管造影で同じ動脈からの出血を認め, 再度TAEを行った。受傷4日目も炎症所見と発熱が続き, 貧血が進行したためCTを施行した。血腫は縮小傾向であったが, 左上断裂腎からの尿漏を認め, 感染症の併発を考えて断裂腎に対するTAEを試みた。左腎上極へ分枝した動脈をスポンジセルを用いて塞栓したところ, 徐々に解熱, 炎症反応改善が得られ, 23日目のCTでは血腫縮小傾向を認めた。受傷5ヵ月目のCTでは断裂腎は萎縮し残存していたが造影効果は認めず, 血腫は完全に吸収され, 残存腎の機能は十分に温存されていた。尿漏や水腎症などもなく経過順調である。

A man sitting for an extended period changes positions both consciously and subconsciously. This study, premised on the transactive relation between man and his environment, analyzed through observation the sitting behaviour of theater audience and train passengers, with the aim of understanding the dynamics of sitting posture. The findings show that the number of times a change of posture took place is affected by attire, condition of neighboring seats, and the differences of spacial features and its location. Moreover, they point out to the existence of multiple basic postures such as those determined by the design standard of the seats, as well as seat types. The result of the analysis with Marcov Chain Model indicates irreducible, non periodic pattern of posture transition. The existence of multiple basic postures was confirmed using the stationary distribution method, while the computation of average time intervals shows short interval for the postural change. This analysis of postural transition provides a fundamental understanding that can be utilized as index for the evaluation of seats.

痛みの評価(測定法と検査法)に関する研究報告に基づき,特に理学療法分野で応用可能であるものを紹介した。痛みを評価する目的は,患者の訴えを客観的に把握すること,痛みを引き起こしている原因を探察すること,そして痛覚機能の障害の程度を測定する(痛覚閾値の測定)ことの3つである。訴えを把握するには,痛みの強さ,性質,時間的変化,領域における4次元的に捉えておく必要がある。痛みの原因を探索するには,圧痛点の探索,姿勢の矯正,関節運動による痛みの誘発などの方法が用いられる。また,痛覚閾値の測定法には,機械的刺激法,温度刺激法,化学刺激法,電気刺激法があることを論じた。

Deeply infiltrating endometriosis (DIE) is defined as subperitoneal invasion by endometriotic lesions. These lesions are considered very active and are strongly associated with pelvic pain. The incidence of DIE is reportedly 20 % in all cases of endometriosis, with uterosacral ligaments representing the most frequent location. Therefore, the resection of uterosacral ligaments is effective in reducing the pelvic pain and dyspareunia that is experienced by patients with endometriosis. However, the operation is associated with a risk of injury to the ureter and rectum; a laparoscopic resection is more useful and safer than open surgery, particularly in patients with adhesion in the pouch of Douglas. Thus, in our study, we initially identified and isolated the ureter and open spaces around the uterosacral ligaments. From June 2012 to December 2013, 262 patients underwent laparoscopic resection of the uterosacral ligaments. Of these, 10 (3.8 %) patients had mild dysuria after the operation, but all cases improved within 2 months. One (0.38 %) patient required clean intermittent catheterization after the operation, which was discontinued 14 months later. Bilateral hydronephrosis occurred in one (0.38 %) patient, which required ureteral dilatation. No ureteral or rectal injury occurred in any patient. Therefore, if the operation is carefully performed, it is possible to safely resect the uterosacral ligaments in patients with endometriosis.

【目的】コラーゲン分子の大部分は3重らせん構造をとっており,さらに分子間は架橋構造により結合・安定化されている。代表的な成熟架橋成分としてはピリジノリンの存在が報告されており,生体の加齢によりその量が増加するなど,分子あるいは組織の安定化にピリジノリンが大きく関与していると考えられている。しかしながら従来の研究は哺乳類が中心となっており,魚類コラーゲンのピリジノリンに関する研究例は少ない。そこで本研究では,魚類コラーゲン中のピリジノリン量を魚種間で定量・比較し,コラーゲンの安定性との相関性について考察した。【方法】佐藤らの方法に基づき,0.1N NaOHを用いてハマチ・マダイの活魚の筋肉および表皮より粗コラーゲン画分を抽出した。凍結乾燥後,約100mgのコラーゲンを6N塩酸で加水分解し,塩酸を蒸発乾固した。次にn-ブタノール:酢酸:水=4:1:1の混合液で平衡化したCF-11カラムに試料を添加・吸着させた後,蒸留水で溶出した。蒸発乾固した試料に0.02N塩酸を加えて溶解し,日立アミノ酸分析計(L-8500)を用いて蛍光検出器(ex. 295nm, em. 395nm)によりピリジノリンを検出・定量した。【結果】試料をCF-11カラムに吸着させることで効果的に他のアミノ酸を除去することができた。またニンヒドリン発色の場合と比較することにより,蛍光によって検出されたピークは生体構成アミノ酸ではないことが確認された。ピリジノリン含量はマダイにおいてハマチの2〜2.5倍となったが,表皮と筋肉とで比較した場合には、両魚種の間で顕著な違いは認められなかった。筋肉の死後変化において,マダイのコラーゲンはハマチよりも構造的に安定であるが,このことにピリジノリン量の違いが影響している可能性が考えられた。

It is concerned that intensive browsing by sika deer (Cervus nippon) has caused declines and disappearances of vegetations in forest floor, resulting in degradations of forest ecosystems across Japan. To determine the effects of deer browsing on forest ecosystems in Gifu Prefecture, we surveyed the decline of understory vegetation in deciduous hardwood forests in 376 forest stands using the shrub-layer decline rank (SDR), which was assessed by combining the coverage of the shrub-layer vegetation and the presence of signs of browsing by sika deer in each forest stand. We found that remarkable declines of vegetations (i.e., shrub-layer vegetation coverage was less than 38%) due to deer browsing were observed in 31.1% of the surveyed stands. We then estimated the spatial distribution of SDR in deciduous hardwood forests, based on sampled data, using a spatial interpolation method in the Geographic Information System. The results of the spatial estimation indicated that remarkable vegetation declines due to deer browsing could be occurred in 22.2% of the forests (1,133.5 km2), mainly distributed western and central areas of the prefecture. Moreover, our findings indicated that effects of deer browsing on forest ecosystem have started to expand northward and eastward of the prefecture. For conservation of forest ecosystem, we suggest reinforcing sika deer culling in the northern and eastern areas of Gifu Prefecture, where numbers of deer caught were relatively smaller than those in the western and central areas.

鏡面研磨した歯科修復用ジルコニアは撥水性であるが、(1) 歯磨によって水のぬれ性が向上すること、(2) 673K以上に加熱すると同じく優れたぬれ性を得ることを見出した。加熱試料上は細胞増殖能に優れ、インプラントの前処理として可能であった。XPS分析によると、表面に吸着したカーボン量が歯磨や加熱により減少していた。すなわち、歯磨には加熱と同様にジルコニア表面に吸着したカーボンを除去する働きがあり、このため親水性を獲得することを明らかにした。

市販かまぼこの部位による物性の違いを破断試験で測定した。直径0.3cmのプランジャーを用いて0.7cm間隔で測定した場合,周りの測定痕が物性値にほとんど影響しないことを確認した。かまぼこの部位による物性の違いを7種類の市販かまぼこで測定した結果,全てのかまぼこでスライス面の上下方向で,多くの物性値に有意差が認められ,左右方向,スライス片間では,数種のかまぼこに特徴的な差が認められた。かまぼこ間の物性の違いを主成分分析で比較した結果,第1主成分は破断時の物性,第2主成分は噛み始めの物性を示した。

落葉樹林に生育する樹上性の半寄生植物であるヤドリギ (Viscum album L. subsp. coloratum Kom.) の分布に,林冠構造が与える影響を検討した。落葉樹林に170×190m のプロットを設置し,各立木 (胸高直径≧20cm) のヤドリギの有無を記録した。立木位置,樹冠投影面積,樹高,梢端高 (樹高+標高) をもとに,解析木からある距離の円内に存在する立木本数を,各解析木の孤立や突出の指標とした。各解析木周囲の立木本数とヤドリギの分布との関係を調べるために,一般化線形混合モデルによるロジスティック回帰分析を行った。解析木周囲の立木本数の増加は,ヤドリギの存在に有意な負の効果を示した。梢端高を考慮しない立木本数のカウント方法に比べ,解析木より梢端高が高い立木のみを対象としたカウント方法においてモデルの妥当性が高かった。落葉樹林において,樹冠の孤立と突出が,ヤドリギの分布を決める重要な要因であると考えられた。ヤドリギの分布は林冠木の空間獲得競争に関係していることが示唆された。
