現在われわれが知るスポーツの中でテニスは最も試合時間が長い競技の1 つであると言える。時間短縮の試合方式は肉体的、精神的負担を軽減するために選手からも望まれているが、一方で短期決戦によって人気のある上位ランキング選手が大会の前半で敗退する番狂わせの増加を懸念する声もある。そこで、本研究では過去の3 セットマッチと5 セットマッチにおける上位シード選手の試合結果から、「3 セットマッチでは番狂わせが多いのか」を検証し、グランドスラムの男子シングルスを5 セットマッチで行う必要性について検討することを目的とした。研究対象としたのは2008 年~2014 年に行われたグランドスラムとATP ワールドツアー・マスターズ1000 においてNo.1~No.4 シードを与えられた選手の試合結果であった。記録方法と分析方法はATP World Tour のホームページ上にある「Results Archive」から、対象とした大会の上位シード選手4 名の試合結果を記録した。分析は記録したデータをもとに、ベスト16 以前とベスト8 以前の敗退率を算出した。なお、検定にはX二乗検定を用いて、統計的有意水準は危険率5%未満とした。結果について、ベスト16 以前では3 セットマッチでも5 セットマッチでも上位シード選手の敗退率に大きな差は無いが、ベスト8 を決める試合では5セットマッチの方が上位シード選手の敗退率は低くなることが明らかになった。このことから、グランドスラムの男子シングルスを1~3 回戦は3 セットマッチの試合方式で行っても上位シード選手の早期敗退率に大きな差は生じないことが示唆された。

In this paper, the author outlines major topics in relation to the indications and limitations of hypnotherapy as the space does not permit him to present thorough and systematic discussions. 1. Treatment of carsickness by a single session. A single session of hypnosis was conducted to 1120 junior high school students suffering from carsickness. As the result, 89% of them showed improvement. A follow-up study 3 years later found complete cure in 45% of the subjects. 2. Application of hypnosis to endoscopic examination. Patients suffering from stomach disorders sometimes have difficulty in taking endoscopic examination due to their overwhelming anxiety. Hypnosis can make it much easier for the doctor to conduct the examination. 3. Hypnotherapy for patients with hemiplegia. The patients with serious motor disorder in the upper and lower extremities due to the sequelae of cerebral vascular disorders (eg. cerebral thrombosis or hemorrhage) showed improvement after hypnotherapy to such an extent that they had no longer serious problems in daily life. 4. Application of hypnosis to psychoanalysis. Hypnosis was applied to the course of psychoanalysis in order to break through resistance or facilitate treatment by using a post-hypnotic amnesic technique. 5. Application of hypnosis in behavior therapy.The image technique can be applied in the systematic desensitization procedure.6. Treatment of chronic stomach ulcers by prolonged hypnosis. Prolonged hypnosis was applied to the patients with chronic and intractable stomach ulcers who repeated aggravation and improvement over the past several years. Their symptoms disappeared within a short period of time with no recurrence. 7. Development of creativity. An image technique was applied to an artist who had been at a deadlock. As the result, he found a new idea to bring his ability to full play.The cases 1 through 5 show that hypnosis can provide other therapeutic approaches with an excellent therapeutic setting. Cases 6 and 7 indicate that hypnosis can be a direct approach to man's self-control. The limitations of hypnosis have different meanings depending on who uses hypnosis and how it is used. More discussions are needed because often it is not the limitations of hypnosis but rather the limitations of the hypnotist that need to be considered.

グーグルアースの活用を通して、実際に旅行をしてあたかもその場にいるかのような疑似体験を行う。このようにICTを活用して世界旅行(授業ではワールドツアーと名付けた)を疑似体験することで社会参画し、観光における様々な課題を取り上げ、地理的思考(空間的思考)を通して現代的課題を解決する地理的知識やスキルの応用を重視する授業開発を目指した。そこで、第3次産業の世界の観光業における単元で、ワールドツアー(世界遺産をめぐる旅行)を取り上げ、教室内で世界旅行の疑似体験を通した自由な雰囲気の中で話し合い活動を進めるワールドカフェ方式を取り入れた。ワールドカフェ方式とはアニータ・ブラウンとデイピッド・アイザックスによって、1995年に開発・提唱された対話の手法である。本時においては、各国の代表者として各テーブルの地域ごとによる話し合い活動を行い、「いかにしてより満足できる観光が実現するか」「いかにして自然環境保護ができるか」単に世界遺産や空港を紹介するだけでなく、話し合いを通して課題解決を目指す。まずは最初のテーブルではあらかじめ固定した地域、アジア、オセアニアなどの地域から国を選び、航空交通網や世界遺産を調べ、「どのようにしてその国へ行くのか」「いかにしてより満足できる親光が実現するか」「いかにして自然環境保護ができるか」をテーマとする。ラウンドが変わるごとに1人を残して全員が他のテーブルにそれぞれ移動する。この方法で、ラウンドごとに別のテーブルの話し合いに参加できる。1人残った人は、ファシリテーター(司会)として移動してきた人にそのテーブルで進んだ話の内容を伝える。出された意見を書き込んでいく。このやり方を導入すると移動してきた人でもその前の話し合いでどんな内容が話されていたことが分かりやすく意見も出しやすくなる。そのラウンドの評価をCS(ポートフォリオ)分析9にて行う。最後は全体で情報を共有する。CS分析とは、CSポートフォリオ分析とも言い、項目別満足度と総合満足度から、重点改善領域を抽出する分析手法である。満足度を構成する要素ごとの「満足度jを縦軸、総合満足度と要素ごとの相関係数(関係の強さ)を横軸にとり、各要素をプロットして重点的に改善する要素を明らかにする。

3年前,千葉県の柏駅近くに夫婦で念願のワインバーを開店しました。駅周辺は若者向けの居酒屋ばかりで,大人がくつろげる店は多くありません。そこで,リラックスできる雰囲気で,気軽にワインを飲める店を作りました。ボトルワインは約80種類,グラスワインは約30種類と豊富です。料理(約40種類)にも力を入れています。 しかし,売上高は開店直後から一向に上向きません。

Background:The relationship between frailty status and laboratory measurements in cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains unclear. We investigated which laboratory measurements indicated frailty in stable older CVD patients.Methods and Results:One-hundred thirty-eight stable older CVD patients were evaluated by laboratory measurements, with frailty assessed using the Kihon Checklist (KCL). Laboratory measurements were compared between frail and non-frail groups. Across the entire cohort, mean age was 81.7 years, mean left ventricular ejection fraction was 57.8%, and mean plasma B-type natriuretic peptide was 182 pg/mL. KCL scores were used to divide patients into non-frail (n=43; KCL <8) and frail (n=95; KCL ≥8) groups. Serum iron was significantly lower in the frail than non-frail group (mean [±SD] 61.2±30.3 vs. 89.5±26.1 μg/dL, respectively; P<0.001). Blood urea nitrogen (BUN; 27.3±16.5 vs. 19.7±8.2 mg/dL; P=0.013) and C-reactive protein (CRP; 1.05±1.99 vs. 0.15±0.21 mg/dL; P=0.004) were significantly higher in the frail than non-frail group. Multivariate analysis revealed that serum iron, CRP, and BUN were significant independent predictors of frailty (β=−0.069, 0.917, and 0.086, respectively).Conclusions:Frailty status was significantly associated with iron, CRP, and BUN in stable older CVD patients. Composite biomarkers (inflammation, iron deficiency, and renal perfusion) may be useful for assessing frailty in these patients.
