Semantic Differential technique was applied to synesthetic tendencies or common affective effects between various stimulus categories of different sensory modalities; classical music, sounds, colours, forms, symbolic words, and movies. Factor analyses indicated three stable factors; evaluation, activity, and lightness(negative potency)across these six different stimulus categories. Classification of patterns of factor scores of 58 stimuli in different categories and cluster analysis based on these factor scores had been shown useful to classify these stimuli into affective groups independently of stimulus categories. This paper provides an overview of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Program developed by Kabat-Zinn. The meaning of mindfulness, Kabat-Zinn's view of mediation, and six techniques of MBSR—eating meditation, breathing, body scan, yoga, walking meditation and sitting meditation—are explained. The effectiveness of MBSR on increased stress tolerance, cognitive change, improved self-management, relaxation, increased ability for acceptance, and awareness of body sensation are introduced, and the literature reporting the applications of MBSR on patients with various conditions, including pain, anxiety, depression, eating disorder, skin disease, cancer and organ transplant, as well as its application to lifestyle modification are reviewed. Finally, potential applications of MBSR in health psychology with a particular focus in the area of health education are discussed.

Parioglossus taeniatus Regan is a small Eleotrid goby, some 35 mm in total length. It was previously known collected from Aldabra in the Indian Ocean (T. Regan : 1912) and the Palao Islands in the Pacific Ocean (T. Abe : 1939). The author collected over one hundred specimens of this fish, containing juveniles from the coasts of Kyushu and Shikoku, Japan (Fig. 1). The fish lives a gregarious and semi-pelagic life in the middle stratum of the water of inlets, feeding on the planktonic copepods. Twenty-one mature fish, collected with a small pit-net, were kept for thirteen days in a table-aquarium. During this period, it was observed that the fish swimmed in the aquarium in day time, and at night they rested under a vacant hollow of a valve of a large shell, lying on the sand-floor of the aqarium. After they were kept some time, the ripe fish were used for artifical insemination. The spawning-season seems to extend from the beginning of July to the beginning of September in the Amakusa Islands, Kyushu. The black, nuptial coloration appeared in the anal fin of the ripe male fish. The number of ripe ovarian eggs was enumerated as from 947 to 2,4E3 according to the size of the parent fish (Table 1). The fertilized egg by artifical insemination is elipsoid in shape, 1.3 mm in long axis and 0.6 mm in short axis, demersal and adhesive, with a boundle of the adhesive filaments at its basal end. The numerous oil-globules in the yolk are grouped in some eggs, or scattered in others (Fig. 2). The incubationperiod extended about four days at the water-temperature 25~28℃. The newly hatched larva is about 2 mm in total length possessing characteristics of gobiid larvae (Fig. 3, A). The juveniles were observed to live swimming life with adults late summer on the coast of the Amakusa Islands (Fig. 3, B~D). The fish seems to grow 20~37 mm in total length in one year, some individuals becoming mature. The life-span seems to be over two years.Parioglosszts taeniatus は Eleotridae に属する小型のハゼ類で, T. Regan(1912) が印度洋のAldabraで採集した全長25mm, 30mmの2尾によつて新種として報告した種類である. 阿部宗明(1939)は南洋パラオ諸島の海岸でカキ殼の中に潜んでいた全長25~30mmの3尾を採集して, 同じくパラオ諸島で得た近縁種 Ptereleotris taeniatus rainfordi(McCulloch) と共に Ptereleotris rainfordi の亜種としてP. taeniatus taeniatus(Regan) という亜種名をつけて報告しているが, これ迄に日本で獲れた記録はない. 筆者はここ数年間に, 福岡県糸島郡机島, 長崎市土升首, 長崎県西彼杵郡茂木町, 同県五島列島浜の浦村, 熊本県苓北町富岡, 徳島県日和佐町の各地で稚魚を包む合計百余尾の標本を得て, その生活史の大要を知ることが出来たのでここに報告する.

現在3GPP(3^<rd> Generation Partnership Project)において,LTE Release 11の標準化が2012年9月の仕様承認に向けて行われている.LTE Release 11では,マルチポイント協調送信(CoMP),追加のキャリアタイプや制御チャネルなどの改善機能が検討されており,LTE Release 10に比較して更なる性能改善および柔軟なシステム展開を実現することが期待できる.一方,近年スマートフォンのような高機能端末が一般層へ広く普及したことを起爆剤として,動画配信等のブロードバンドサービスを中心に無線ネットワークにおけるデータトラヒックが爆発的に増大している.これは,これまでの傾向から予想される範囲を大きく超える伸びであり,更なる飛躍的なシステムの性能改善が必要である.本講演では,このような背景を踏まえ,2020年に向けた将来無線技術についての要求条件や展開シナリオを示すとともに,それらを実現するための将来無線技術,特にLTE Release 12を含むLTEのさらなる発展に向けた技術トピックについて述べる.特に,将来の高い周波数帯を有効利用するための無線アクセス技術および無線ネットワーク構成の確立が重要課題であり,マクロノート(ワイドエリア)が低い周波数帯でカバレッジやモビリテイを提供し,高く広帯域な周波数帯で小電力ノード(ローカルエリア)が高速なデータ伝送を提供する階層型ネットワーク構成,およびこれらを高効率にサポートするハイブリッド無線アクセス技術が有望であることを述べる.

本研究では、既存のダンス動画コンテンツの複数の動画像を分割して連結(切り貼り)することで、音楽に合ったダンス動画を自動生成するシステムを提案する。従来、切り貼りに基づいた動画の自動生成に関する研究はあったが、音楽{映像間の多様な関係性を対応付ける研究はなかった。本システムでは、そうした多様な関係性をモデル化するために、Web 上で公開されている二次創作された大量のコンテンツを利用し、クラスタリングと複数の線形回帰モデルを用いることで音楽に合う映像の素片を選択する。その際、音楽{映像間の関係だけでなく、生成される動画の時間的連続性や音楽的構造もコストとして考慮することで、動画像の生成をビタビ探索によるコスト最小化問題として解いた。This paper presents a system that automatically generates a dance video clip appropriate to music by segmenting and concatenating existing dance video clips. Although there were previous works on automatic music video creation, they did not support various associations between music and video. To model such various associations, our system uses a large amount of fan-fiction content on the web, and selects video segments appropriate to music by using linear regression models for multiple clusters. By introducing costs representing temporal continuity and music structure of the generated video clip as well as associations between music and video, this video creation problem is solved by minimizing the costs by Viterbi search.

癌の死亡率減少のためには, 有効性が科学的に証明された検診を, 高い精度管理の基に行わなければならない。検診施設間には精度のバラツキが存在し, 質の悪い精度の基での検診は, 不利益が利益を上回る可能性がある。精度管理対策の実施によって検診精度の向上は明らかであり, 胃がんの内視鏡検診が実施される場合でも精度管理対策は必須である。例え死亡率減少効果が認められる検診であっても, 不利益が無視できない場合は対策型検診として推奨されないことがある。不利益には偽陰性, 偽陽性, 過剰診断, 検査による偶発症があるが, がん発見率の高い検診は過剰診断のリスクが存在する。がん検診の受診率向上のためにはコール・リコールシステムが有効であるが, そのためには重点的に受診勧奨すべき対象年齢の設定が必要である。適切な対象者に対して, 有効な検診を高い精度管理の基に行うことが「合理的かつ科学的根拠に基づく胃がん検診」と考える。
