The purpose of this paper is to explain the problems revealed by the concept of 'lookism'and to explore the significant implications of this concept for studies on discrimination based on appearance. I classify the previous studies on lookism into three groups.The first group raises the issue that appearances are evaluated in situations where appearance should not be evaluated. The second group argues the disproportionate distribution of beauty by social categories such as race, class, and gender and so on. The third group shows that appearances valued in the labor market are organizationally constructed, focusing on 'aesthetic labour,' The results of my paper are as follows;the concept of'lookism'is used quite differently in general society and in academic research.It is therefore necessary to examine which of the above three groups is suitable for the use of 'lookism'in the general public.

The line between Takasaki and Naoetu which belonged to the old Imperial Japanese Railways, and the line between Naoetu and Niigata which belonged to the old Hokuetu Railway Company were laid in Meiji Era to link Kanto areas with Japan Sea coast. After Hokuetu Railway Company was bought by the government, these lines were designated collectively as a Shin-etsu line. This report describes the history and present state of railway tunnels, taking an example of Shin-etsu line based on field surveys and historical records. There was on this line some 26 tunnels constructed with Abt track to climb the steep section between Yokogawa and Karuizawa at over Usui Pass. The tunnels between Nagano and Naoetu were constructed in the early stage of tunnel work in Japan, and the tunnels between Naoetu and Niigata were constructed by private railways.Through investigations of these tunnels, it has made been clear that the original tunnels were abandoned for reconstruction to be electrified and double-tracked, but most of them have remained in original forms, as a valuable heritage from the Meiji Era.

日本の伝統的な和食には,その味の命として,様々な食材のダシが用いられてきた。特にかつお節のイノシン酸,昆布のグルタミン酸,そしてシイタケのグアニル酸は三大旨味成分として位置づけられており,昔から日本料理に欠かせないものとして重宝されてきた。これら旨味成分の中でも,シイタケのダシの抽出には冷水を用いることが,一般的に知られている。これは加熱抽出が当たり前である他の食材のダシと比べてみて,特異なダシの抽出法といえる。また,ダシ抽出に使うシイタケは,乾燥させた干しシイタケである。そこで,本実験では,なぜ一般的にシイタケのダシ抽出は乾燥シイタケを冷水で5時間戻した後に調理するのが良いといわれているのかを検証するために,抽出温度,戻し時間,シイタケの品種によってどう影響するのかを調べた。その結果,抽出温度では,グアニル酸生成に作用するリボ核酸分解酵素と,グアニル酸分解に作用するヌクレオチド分解酵素の2つの活性に影響を与えていることが推定され,抽出時間では,冷水中で乾燥シイタケに含まれるリボ核酸量が約5時間で,プラトー状態に達することが確認され,品種では,肉質の薄い香信が外部の水温の影響を受けやすく,加熱によってリボ核酸分解酵素が働きやすくなり,また成分も流出しやすいことなどが推定された。

腟内異物が放置される例は、産婦人科ではまれに経験される。症例は 50 歳。スプレー缶の蓋を腟内に自己挿入し、抜去できずに約2年間放置していた。抜去目的に当院を紹介され、腰椎麻酔下に子宮把持鉗子で抜去した。抜去された異物は、石灰化物質で覆われており、成分分析では、リン酸カルシウムとリン酸マグネシウムが検出された。報告では腟内のカルシウムイオン、マグネシウムイオンは尿の成分に由来 すると結論づけられるものが多い。腟内異物の症例では膀胱腟瘻を来していることも多い。本症例では画像検査で膀胱腟瘻などの解剖学的異常はなく、抜去可能であった。長期間放置された腟内異物の診療では、膀胱腟瘻などの解剖学的異常も含め、画像検査で評価することが有用である。

The “Local deepening rate (LDR)”, the local surface pressure tendency, which is normalized by the sine of latitude and similar to the definition of an explosive cyclone, is introduced to extratropical cyclone activity analysis. The LDR has the advantage of being much simpler than conventional methods such as cyclone tracking and time filtering. The time average of positive LDR, which implies cyclone deepening, captures not only individual explosive cyclone's deepening but also the mid-latitude storm track climatology. The probability of explosive deepening, defined as LDR ≥ 1 hPa h-1 and based on ensemble forecasts, accurately represents the deepening potential and provides information regarding the influence area of storms—analogous to the strong wind area used in typhoon forecasts. The LDR can also be used to assess the quality of storm tracks in reanalyses products. In the 20th century reanalysis, the storm track activity, calculated from ensemble mean surface pressure, is too weak before 1910 in the North Pacific, and in the South Pacific low activity is observed up to the end of the 20th century, because of large ensemble spread due to few surface pressure observations.

本論文の目的は、1知的障害者入所施設に導入した、職員のニーズ関連行動の増加とニーズ解決技能の習熟ならびにそれらの組織的結果を強化する6つの行動パッケージからなる、組織的援助システムについての臨床実験の成績を報告し、今後の入所施設サービスについての方法論的枠組みと応用行動分析の役割について議論することである。3ヵ年にわたる研究結果は、この組織的援助システムが施設の専門的援助機能を有意に高め、知的障害や発達障害を有する入所者の適応行動と不適応行動に劇的な改善をもたらすことを示していた。本知見は、この新たなシステムが施設サービスにおいて知的障害や発達障害をもつ人々に最適なQOLを提供するうえで本質的な役割を演じるとともに、地域社会に根ざしたサービスや他の対人援助場面でも適用可能であることを示唆している。

愛着理論は乳幼児期のみならず,思春期の情緒・行動障害への介入において重要な意義をもつことが精神保健の領域でも認識されてきている。本論文では,思春期の臨床における愛着の意義,その評価と介入について概観した。近年は愛着形成の過程とその障害やリスク状態までを含む次元的なスペクトラム・モデルが呈示され,ライフステージに沿った診断と評価が検討されていた。ことに思春期では,自律や性の問題に直面することが新たな脅威となり,愛着障害行動が生じることがさまざまな情緒・行動上の問題の背景として指摘されていた。治療では愛着に基づく介入として,脅威となる状況の変化とともに家族を含む支援システムが愛着対象として機能することが重要となる。
