脳外傷後の身体障害が軽い患者では, 外見からは高次脳機能障害が時にわかりにくく, 「見えない障害, 隠れた障害」 などと称される. 外見上は良好に回復しているものの, 社会生活への適応が障害されており, 実際の生活や社会に帰って初めて問題が顕在化し, 結果的に元の学校や職場に戻ることができないこともしばしばある. 本稿では, 脳神経外科医が知っておくべき脳外傷後高次脳機能障害の特徴と診断として, ①急性期の意識障害の正確な記載と早期の画像診断の重要性, ②診断困難例における頭部SPECTやPETなどの機能的画像診断法の有用性, ③自動車運転再開における脳神経外科医の役割について概説する. 脳外傷後高次脳機能障害の病態を正しく理解し診断や治療方針を決めるとともに, 社会参加への適切な判断や指導における脳神経外科医の役割が今後さらに高まると思われる.

Anthropological writings abound in allusions to belief. Ethnographers have been accustomed to say, for example, that people of such and such place firmly believe that most of their misfortunes are caused by witchcraft of envious neighbors, or that they believe in the supreme God who controls rainfall, etc. Such descriptions have often been considered problematic, to say the least. For, as many critics argue, if the term "belief" is related to some inner state of a believer, it would be enormously difficult to infer other people's belief, particularly if they are culturally different, when you have no means of access directly to the inside of someone's mind. In this article I will show this kind of criticism is based on inappropriate assumptions about the very concept of belief, and thus is totally unfounded. As Needham's famous book "Belief, Language, and Experience" shows, this criticism might well have devastating effects on anthropological research. I will argue that the word 'believe' as well as other related concepts does not refer to any specific inner state of mind, but is related to two axes of binary estimation of the belief-object: an axis of trustworthiness (true/false distinction in reference to a proposition will be shown to be just another case of trustworthiness), and an axis of possibilities of conflicting judgment in shared discursive space (space of communication). Belief (and/or knowledge) is not simply a matter of intellectual concern, but is directly pertinent to social subject's pragmatic engagement with the world seen as a kind of a gamble-space.

“Japan; Who governs?” This has been one of the main themes in the Japanese political science. Since the bureaucracy had been the core of the pre-war imperial system, the establishment of the elected officials' supremacy under the new Constitution became, the priority objective. This goal was achieved by the decades of the Liberal Democratic Party's one party dominance. However, recent studies have re-discovered the significance of the bureaucracy.After reviewing the academic literature, this article brings three new perspectives. First, the new type of bureaucracy, “administrative conservator, ” is emerging. Second, this “re-discovery” of the Japanese bureaucratic leadership might be temporary. Japan has become a front-runner who has to choose her own shape of the state. Bureaucrats have to work together with politicians since only politicians can make legitimate decisions. Therefore it's time for us to discuss the constructive relationship between those two, instead of asking which has the dominance. This identifies factors that define the bureaucracy itself. Finally, this article demonstrates the knowledge that defines bureaucracy is not some knowledge on particular areas, but the certain attitudes towards policies.

近世日本における「農兵」とは、疲弊した武家社会を助けるために生じた理念であり、現実性をともなうものではなかった。さらに、それはアヘン戦争の情報によって「海防」意識が高まった十九世紀になっても変わるものではなかった。「農兵」が現実的な存在となってくるのは、ペリー来航以降、外国船への対応が恒常化してからであった。鳥取藩領内においては、文久年間、大名による国事対応が頻繁化し、かつ京・大坂への兵事動員が繁多となったことによって、藩領内の警備の手薄さが再認識され、これへの対応として「農兵」による補填が図られたが、軍事インフラの充実に重きを置いた藩当局の判断により、「農兵」教導は挫折を見た。しかしながらこの折、建設された軍事インフラである台場への対応が、在地社会に委ねられたことは、民衆における軍事への志向性を生み出した。殊に、藩政の中心たる領内東部地域において、その志向性は低調で、領内西部、遠隔地において顕著であった。この民間より動員された兵力は長州戦争における活躍によってその正当性が確認され、鳥取藩内においても、「農兵」教導とあらたな「洋式」軍事編成が模索されるようになった。軽装の洋式「歩兵」は、戊辰戦争において活躍し、その後の調練次第で藩の常備兵化が期待されたが、入隊した兵が抱いた志向は、近世的身分制における褒賞と特権を重視するものであり、そのことが隊内外において混乱を生じさせた。「国民皆兵」主義の実現を目指し、あらたな軍隊の創出を目指す政府は、旧武士層たる士族の特権を否定し、幕末に生成された「農兵」をも否定した。

In 1936 Kyoshi Takahama and Riichi Yokomitsu made a voyage from Japan to Europe on the same ship. After they landed at Marseilles, Kyoshi called on his son in Paris and traveled through Europe, while Yokomitsu went to see the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games after a stay in Paris and some travels through Europe. After their return to Japan, Kyoshi published Tofutsu Nikki, and Yokomitsu Oshu Kiko. Though they had similar experience on board, their records of their voyages are quite different. The purpose of this paper is to compare these two works and to consider their difference and the common social background.

Shin Kobe railway station on the Sanyo Shinkan Sen (New Sanyo Line) is situated at the south piedmont of the Mt. Rokko and underlied by active fault named Suwayama fault.Then the elevated railway structures are underlied three different beds such as granite rock, fault clay and alluvial sand and gravels.So, the special considerations were carried out for the design of the structures with regard to the effects of differential movements of the ground due to active faulting, uneven subgrade reaction under the basement structures, and heaving pressure due to swelling of the fault clay.

ドッグフードへのサルモネラ属菌の混入に注目し、日本国内で販売される犬用ドッグフードを対象に調査を行った。方法は「愛玩動物用飼料等の検査法(27消技第1051号)」に従った。対象製品は27社の犬用ドライフードから選択した国産フード63製品、輸入フード47製品とした。輸入フードの原産国の内訳は米国14製品、オランダ7製品、タイ・カナダ・フランスが6製品、オーストラリア5製品、スウェーデン2製品、チェコ1製品であった。その結果、サルモネラ属菌は、今回調査した、すべての製品で陰性であった。
