Structure of spawning redds, physical conditions of spawning sites and spawning season were compared between the fluvial forms of S.(O.) masou and Salv. leucomaenis in Kamidani, head water of River Yura, from 1973 to 1975. Spawning sites selectivity and redd construction pattern in S.(O.) masou are strictly limited. Spawning occurs only near the lower end of "pools (including small sluggish areas)", with constant flow and slightly inclined or approximately level stream bed composed of mainly 1-3 cm gravel. Furthermore spawning takes place rather in the lower portion of stream and in the larger pools. The construction pattern and structure of redds in Salv. leucomaenis are variable, indicating a wide selectivity for spawning sites. Spawning occurs in both the upper and lower parts of pools, where the velocity of current and the gradient of stream bed vary widely, but always with more or less whirling flow and stream bed composed of mainly 1-3 cm gravel. Moreover spawning takes place rather in the upper portion of the stream and in the smaller pools. It is clear that spawning sites selectivities of these two species differ distinctly, and their spawning sites are in most parts segregated from each other.

今年で41回目となるSIGGRAPH2014は,8月10日(日)から8月14日(木)まで,カナダ・バンクーバーのコンベンションセンターで,例年通り華やかに開催された.SIGGRAPHはACMに属する一つの研究会であり,CG (Computer Graphics)やInteractive技術に関する国際会議であり,CG, Virtual Reality, Art, Image ProcessingやGameに関する最新の試みなどが発表される.本学会における極めて重要な会議である.本会議は,5日間にわたり,並列して多数のイベントが開催されており,すべてを聴講することは不可能であるが,今年もその概要を,例年通り報告することにする.

オーディオ機器音質改善手法の一つとして,既存の機器にオーディオインシュレータがしばしば用いられている.それ以外にも電源部分における流入ノイズの低減など数多くの手法が挙げられる.本報告では,オーディオ機器の電源ケーブルに対してポリエチレングリコールを主とした高分子材料を封入したチューブを巻きつけることでの再生音の雑音低減・音質改善する手法を提案し,その効果について実験的に検討している.特に信号再生時に雑音が増加する聴感的経験をもとに,オーディオ機器間のアース電位の差に着目して雑音抑制,物質の違いによる効果の差について調べるとともに,聴取実験により音像定位や音質改善との関係を検討した.

本研究は,自然言語表現から,心的状態が言語表現に与える影響を捉えることを試みる.ブログ記事とアフィリエイト広告を対象として,広告の有無によって,言語表現に異なる特徴が現れるかを検討した.商品紹介記事を分析対象に,計量文体分析と内容分析,修辞表現の比較を行なった.この結果,広告のある記事ほど,記事文中に書き手の受けた印象や雰囲気の記述が多くなった.さらに,書き手の意見や印象を強調する表現が多く現れていた.また,広告のある記事には,逆接を挟んで評価を逆転させる,商品評価の表現が多く見られた.これら表現の差は,ブログ閲覧者の購買行動喚起に対する,ブログの書き手の意欲の差によるものと考えられる.

干潟は高い生物多様性や生態系サービスを有す一方,様々な開発圧に曝されている。また,干潟は地元住民,漁師,行政,開発業者など様々な立場の人たちの利害関係とも深く関わっている。そのため,保全か開発かの二者択一の議論では干潟の諸問題を解決することは困難である。本研究は,このような複雑な問題を題材とした持続可能な社会(開発と保全)の在り方を考える授業プログラムの開発を行った。授業プログラムは,大学生12 名を対象に,事前調べ学習,干潟での自然観察(遊び)と生物多様性調査,ワークショップの3 つの構成で行った。構成それぞれで干潟への関心や知識に関するアンケート調査を実施し,それらの効果を検証した。生物多様性調査の結果,19 種の絶滅危惧種を含む47 種の生物を採集することができた。アンケート調査の結果,受講者は,授業の進行に連れて,干潟の知識の向上,干潟を必要と思う気持ちの向上などがみられた。また,ワークショップを通じ,干潟に対する自分の考えを見つめ直し,他者の考えを受け入れ,議論を重ねたことで,干潟の景観や生物のことだけなく,干潟を取り巻く社会情勢や干潟の価値や役割など様々なことを多角的,俯瞰的,総合的に思考し,理解する機会が得られたと考えられた。Although mudflats have many ecological functions and high biodiversity, they are exposed to the pressure of development. Such a situation provides suitable materials for education for sustainable development (ESD). As there has been no practical study of ESD on mudflats, we have therefore created the learning program of ESD on mudflats. The program is divided into three parts: investigative learning, nature observation meetings and field research on mudflats, and workshops in the classroom. Students were answered a questionnaire after each part. The results of field research, 47 species of animals, including 19 species of endangered species were collected. The results of the questionnaire showed that, as the program progressed, so the knowledge and interest of students in mudflats increased. Furthermore, through the workshop, students were able to share various ideas regarding mudflats.

We propose an interactive healthcare system that uses feces data to support health promotion using smart phone. User inputs feces data, such as shape, color, smell, etc., into the system when they go to the lavatory. If the input data is significantly bad, the user will be notified that the condition of his/her health requires more attention. The user can print feces data that is stored in the system and show it to a doctor. We expect the users can adhere to input their data to the system without getting bored by introducing an interactive game interface.

The International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) published the 2007 Recommendation of ICRP as the publication 103 of Annals of ICRP at the end of the year 2007. Owing to the transparency of revision process for the 1990 recommendation (Publ. 60) the understanding of as well as the interest in the new recommendation prevailed widely in the past 9 years. The Japan Health Physics Society (JHPS) made contribution to the revision by providing valuable comments on the drafts. Now members of the society are expected to express their insights on the future regulatory aspects of radiological protection and safety based on deep understanding of the new recommendations. In this issue of the Japanese Journal of Health Physics authors who participated in the Symposium of JHPS describe various aspects of new recommendations and its applications to future regulations in Japan. The authors wish that this article will help members of JHPS for better perception of the new recommendation and deep insight on the new principles of radiological protection and their application to regulations.

George Sand (1804-76) is recognized as a beauty in male attire as well as a French female romantic novelist. The purpose of this thesis is to find out the reason behind her disguising herself. The methodology used is to pick out and examine the sentences mentioning clothes in her letters collection. There are several different ways in which she uses masculine disguise, and the author focuses on when she uses disguise for political activities as a republican ideologist in 1835. In her masculine disguise, there is a feature that was neither a male imitation nor an expression of female character. Her male attire can be related to her usual, simple female attire which had no affectation and no vanity, and was not intended to flatter. Viewed in this light, we must pay close attention to the connection between her dressing as a man and the thought of liberating women.

本稿の目的は、天皇神格化言説の高揚する昭和戦前戦中期における皇族表象の様相とともに、天皇崇敬に関する宮内省のスタンスを明らかにすることにある。先行論では崇敬対象の天皇と崇敬主体の国民という構造が展開され、抽象的な議論になりがちであるが、本稿では具体性を以て表象される皇族に注目する。本稿では旧宮内省文書から考察を試み、統括官庁の方針を確認するとともに、文書に織り込まれた人びとの声を回復し、それらの経年変化を探る。結果、一九二六〜三七年まででは皇族表象を価値目的的に利用しようとする地域社会のスタンスと、それを規制していく宮内省のスタンスが、一九三七〜四一年前後では〈利用〉と共に皇族を崇敬対象とみなす地域社会の声とともに、その傾向を事実上黙認する宮内省の立場が、そして一九四一〜四五年では軍部の要請と相俟って、崇敬される天皇とそれを崇敬する国民という構造へ収斂させていく宮内省の在り様が看取された。
