The effects of noise, distortion and band limitation on the tone quality of broadcasting sounds are investigated using the method of continuous judgment by category. The advantages of this method are that the long-term program can be used as stimulus as it is, and that subjects listen to the program without paying attention to any specific deteriorative conditions. Popular songs with conversation between an announcer and singers broadcasted by NHK FM are used as source program. The duration is about 23 minutes. Four kind of noise, three kinds of distortion and three kinds of band limitation are added on the program. Twenty subjects judge the instantaneous tone quality using eight categories. The effects of the deteriorative conditions are compared with one another in the same context. As a results, it is found that this method is appropriate to evaluate the tone quality of broadcasting sounds in a natural listening attitude. And it is confirmed by the experiment using this method that noise has the greatest effect on the tone quality, and that distortion also plays an important role in the estimation of the tone quality when either noise or band limitation is not added.

ストレス―コーピングの今日的なトランスアクショナル理論に従えば、心理生物学的ストレス反応は要請 (すなわち、ストレッサー) と心理社会的コーピング資源との不均衡によって発現すること、またこのトランスアクショナル (相互作用的) 過程には様々な要因 (たとえば、コントロールの機会、ストレッサーの持続性や予測性、怒りの表出と完了行動の終結可能性など) が関与していることが確認されている。本論文では、さまざまなコーピング方略が種々の心理生物学的ストレス反応パターン (たとえば、胃潰瘍の発生、脳内ノルアドレナリンと血黎コルチコステロンの放出増加、回避―逃避行動の障害) と相関すること、心理生物学的視点からすれば絶対的な有効なコーピング型は存在しないといった見解を支持する。問題焦点型コーピングと情動焦点型コーピングに大別される心理生物学的ストレス反応の類別化を行うことで、いろいろな場面で適応を目指して行われるコーピング行動の同定に役立つと思われる。

To study the role of asarinin on collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) and its treatment mechanism on dendritic cells (DCs) and T cells. Before the onset of arthritis, asarinin were given orally to CIA mouse. Macroscopic scoring and micrometer caliper measurement were used to assess arthritis. The occurrence of cartilage destruction and bone erosion were assessed by histology of knee. Sandwich ELISA and PCR were used to assess the level of cytokines in hindpaw and arthritic joint. The CD11c MicroBeads were employed to isolate CD11c+ cells from the spleen. Quantitative PCR was used to determine DCs surface molecules of spleen. Macroscopic score and the frequency of arthritis were inhibited by asarinin. Swelling of hindpaws, inflammatory cell infiltration in the synovium, cartilage destruction, and bone erosion were delayed with asarinin. Asarinin treatment suppressed the expression of Th1 cytokines and increased the levels of Th2 cytokines (IL-10), TGF-β and Foxp3 in the synovium and hindpaw, however T-bet mRNA levels in synovium decreased. Lower expression of TLR9 and NF-kB were found in DCs after asarinin treatment. There was no difference in the expression of ICAM-1, OX40-L, and 4-1BBL in spleen DCs between the asarinin group and model control group. Asarinin can treat CIA. TLR9/NF-κB pathway may be involved in the asarinin treatment of CIA by skewing the balance of Th1/Th2/Treg to a Th2 type.

本研究では, 環境音に対する印象が年代によりどのように異なっているかを検討した。まずアンケート調査により, 6つの年代 (10代~60代) に音の好みを尋ねた。その結果, 6つの年代を2つに分ける場合, 青年 (40歳未満) と壮年 (40歳以上) で分けた時に, 好みに違いが表れる音が最も多くなった。次に, 各年代の人を対象に音と映像を用いて印象評価実験を行った。被験者には音のみを呈示した場合と映像を付加して呈示した場合について, 音の印象をSD法により評価してもらった。因子分析の結果, 視覚情報が与える印象の変化は青年の方が壮年より大きいことが示された。

Fractalkine has been reported to play an important role in the pathophysiology of various cardiovascular disorders. This research aims to study the change of soluble fractalkine (sFKN) in plasma level of patients with chronic heart failure (CHF) and evaluate its prognostic value.A total of 96 patients with CHF and 45 healthy subjects were included in this study. The plasma levels of sFKN, brain natriuretic peptide (BNP), and Interleukin-18 (IL-18) were determined by ELISA kits when they were first admitted to the hospital. Left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) was measured by echocardiogram. Rehospitalization status within 1 year after the first hospitalization was also recorded.The plasma levels of sFKN, BNP, and IL-18 in patients with CHF were significantly higher than in the control group (P < 0.05). The concentrations of sFKN and BNP were increased with the severity of heart failure classified by NYHA classification (P < 0.05). There were no statistical differences among all CHF subgroups classified by etiology (P > 0.05). Plasma sFKN level in CHF group was positively correlated with BNP (r = 0.441, P < 0.001) and IL-18 (r = 0.592, P < 0.001). Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis showed that area under the curve values of FKN, BNP, and IL-18 were 0.885 (95%CI: 0.810 to 0.960, P < 0.001), 0.889 (95%CI: 0.842 to 0.956, P < 0.001), and 0.878 (95%CI: 0.801-0.954, P < 0.001), respectively. The concentrations of sFKN and BNP were increased in patients readmitted more than once within 1 year (P < 0.05).

本論文では音同士を重ねることで聴者に心理的に影響を与えられるのか、その効果を探った。環境音など元々存在している音は、音自体を調整する事は難しい場合が多い。そして音が、聴者に対して心理的な負荷となっている場合がある。本研究では、マスキング効果にみられる騒音の低減のように、環境音にBGM等の別の音を重ねて流し心理的負荷を低減させられるのではないか仮定し、その原因となる特徴量の分析を実施した。

Eighty-two children, consisting of 60 males and 22 females who were suffering from language retardation, visited our department over the past two years and contributed to the study. The mean age of the children was 3 years and 3 months at the first consultation. Many of the children were referred to us by otolaryngologists who first found the impairment of language development. Around 88% of the children suffering from language retardation were affected by certain psychiatric problems such as mental retardation (fifty-four children,66%) and autism. Seven patients (9%) were affected by a considerable hearing deficit including five patients with severe hearing loss.
