The sugi bark borer, Semanotus japonicus, occurs naturally in Honshu, Shikoku, Sado Is., Oki Is., and Yaku Is. in Japan, and its main host tree is the Japanese cedar, Cryptomeria japonica. Because the geographical structure of the morphological characters largely corresponds to the sites of the glacial refugia and the post-Pleistocene dispersal route of the Japanese cedar, the history of the cedar was postulated to have shaped the genetic population structure in the borer. In this study, we used partial sequences from mitochondrial DNA genes, the COI, tRNALeu-UUR and COII to elucidate processes in the geographical structuring of S. japonicus populations. Ten haplotypes were revealed among 52 individuals from four populations that ranged from Iwate to Ehime prefectures. The geographical distribution of these haplotypes was highly structured. Two distinct lineages were detected, which probably represented the Pacific coastal and the Japan Sea side lineages, from the neighbour-joining method and haplotype networking. As haplotypes of both Pacific and Japan Sea lineages were found in the Iwate population, a second contact might have occurred in the Tohoku area. These results suggested that the present genetic structure of S. japonicus was determined by the host's past history.

本稿では,最新のオリジナル作品である"Kasa Jizo : The Stone Buddhas With The Straw Hats"(以下「カサ地蔵」)での幾つかの新しい試みを紹介しながら,前稿(2007)に引き続いて,英語劇のシナリオ作成と舞台作りのためのヒントを提示したい。シナリオ作成に関する新しい試みとしては,「二人三脚」及び「一人舞台」と筆者が呼ぶものがある。前者は,ナレーターに「突っ込み」を入れる役を配置し,二人の掛け合いで物語りを展開させて行く手法である。後者は,文字通り役者が一人で舞台に立ち,一回の発話で大量のセリフを発するものを指す。今回の作品中では,主人公のお爺さんによる地蔵を相手にしたモノログがこれに当たる。また,原作には存在しない「それらしい話」を創作・挿入する「部分創作」というものについても新しい視点から少し論じておきたい。舞台作りに関しては,地蔵にまつわる事項について検討する。

近年、マルチメディアデータベースの研究が盛んに行なわれており、動画像や映像を扱う研究も多い。しかしながらストーリを持つ動画像や映像を扱った研究は、あまりなされていない。これは、マルチメディアデータベースでアニメに代表されるようなストーリを持つ映像を扱うためには、動作や音声、さらにはそのストーリを適切に記述する必要があるためである。本研究では、ストーリを持つ映像としてアニメ「まんが日本昔ばなし」に注目し、Fillmoreの提案した格文法で用いられる格フレーム形式と、Schankの提案した概念依存表現との階層構造の内容記述によって、アニメが持つストーリや動作を表現し、検索を行なう方法について検討する。

Even after the revision of the Organ Transplant Law, organ transplantation continues to be mired in a dire situation. The causes of this situation must be understood when taking steps to reverse it; in fact, these causes have been partially discussed in the past. Issues include both hard and soft aspects, such as institutional issues not solved by legal revision alone, prejudice, and misunderstandings of transplantation rooted in a cultural/historical background.Potential measures for improving the situation include: revision of the transplantation system (enhancement of in-hospital coordinators, simplification of transplantation suitability assessments, saving labor in organ donation verification) ; administrative reform (organ procurement organizations, brain death notification system, opting out) ; revision of the health insurance system (insurance coverage of brain death determination, various additional fees adjustment factor) ; and educational/public awareness activities (secondary education, media cooperation, participation by recipients and others).The time has come to investigate methods to increasing organ donations as a national project.

動物の安定同位体比はその餌料生物や栄養段階と良く対応することが知られ、様々な分野で生態学的指標として盛んに利用されている。安定同位体解析では、餌生物と捕食者間での安定同位体比の濃縮係数や、餌の安定同位体比が捕食者の体組織の値に反映されるのに要する時間(ターンオーバータイム)などの基礎的知見が重要であり、これらが生物種によって異なることや、組織や体サイズによっても変化することが知られている。魚類においても安定同位体解析は餌資源の推定などに活用されているが、濃縮係数やターンオーバータイムが明らかにされている魚種は少なく、今後様々な魚種について知見の集積を進める必要がある。本研究ではサクラマス稚魚の筋肉について飼育環境下で炭素・窒素安定同位体比のターンオーバータイムを測定した。

トドマツ精英樹や育種母材を用いて樹高方向の丸太の動的ヤング率の変動を調べ,樹幹全体の平均値を推定するのに最適な地上高部位を検討した。また,立木の応力波伝播速度と丸太の動的ヤング率の関係を調べ,トドマツにおける応力波伝播速度測定法の有用性を検討した。丸太の動的ヤング率の樹高方向の変動は,各クローンにおける個体間では,ほぼ同様の変動傾向を示した。また地際から地上高 3 mまでの部位において樹幹全体を代表する値として用いることが可能であり,胸高部位を含むこの地上高部位においてクローン間の遺伝的な違いを比較できると考えられた。立木の応力波伝播速度と丸太の動的ヤング率には,個体値,クローン平均値とも有意な正の相関関係が認められた。特にクローンにおいて相関関係が高かった。これより,胸高部位付近でトドマツの立木の応力波伝播速度を測定することにより,非破壊的に動的ヤング率の推定が可能であり,クローン評価に有効な材質指標になることが示唆された。

亜鉛(Zn)は必須微量元素の1つであり,生体内の数多くの酵素の構成成分として生理機能に重要な働きを示しており,その欠乏時には味覚異常や成長抑制などの障害を引き起こすことが知られている。本研究はWistar系雄性ラットを用いて,Zn欠乏飼料で4週間飼育し,Zn欠乏における味蕾細胞のターンオーバータイム延長および大腿骨に及ぼす影響を調べる目的で,舌微小血管構築の走査電子顕微鏡観察,大腿骨骨密度および機械的特性について検討した。それらの結果としてZn欠乏群ラットは,対照群に比べて食餌摂取量が減少し,体重増加が抑制されたことや,実験開始3週間頃よりZn欠乏の特徴とされる皮膚症状や立毛などの肉眼所見が観察された。また,血液生化学値に関しては対照群に比べ血清中Zn濃度および血清ALP活性が有意に低値であった。舌中Zn濃度については対照群に比べ有意に低値であり,大腿骨における骨長,骨密度および最大ひずみ,最大曲げ応力は,対照群に比べともに有意に低値であった。さらに,舌微小血管構築像の電子顕微鏡観察により舌微小血管の漏洩像が観察された。これらのことから,Zn欠乏による味覚異常は,味蕾細胞の栄養供給路である舌微小血管の障害が関連しており,かつ大腿骨骨密度の成長障害および骨密度の低下が認められた。これらからZn欠乏が舌乳頭の局部組織障害とともに硬組織への影響が無視できないことが示唆された。

Since 14^th century, in Venice there were the numerous noble palaces converted into the hotel. This custom is remarkable, particularly, in Venice and it continues also during all 19^th century, while in the other European cities were built many <i>grand hotels</i> as a new hotel building typology. Finally, at the beginnings of the 20^th century, on the Lido beach it starts to build some international <i>Grand Hotel</i> style architecture. Instead in Venice it begins to construct other new hotels, on-line of the reminiscence of the local traditional historical style. After the Second World War, also now, once more in Venice it is the fashion of conversion into hotels from the historical buildings of many different types.
