月経前症候群 (PMS) は月経前, 3~10日の間続く精神的あるいは身体症状で, 月経開始とともに減退ないし消失するものと定義されている。原因としては, エストロゲン・プロゲステロン失調説, βエンドルフィン上昇説, ビタミンB6欠乏説, 低血糖説, 自己免疫説などが提唱されているが, いまだ定説はない。したがって治療も多岐にわたって試みられており, 治療効果を客観的にとらえる必要がある。そこで我々は臨床症状を精神, 神経, 乳房, 水分貯留, 胃腸, 皮膚などの各症状に大別しそれぞれに0-20点を与え総計100点となるPMSスコアを作成した。治療前後で比較し, 治療前値の30%以下になったものを著効, 31~60%を有効とし桂枝茯苓丸エキス剤 (TJ-25) の効果を検討した。実証のPMS患者4名に投与したところ2名が著効, 2名が肩効であり副作用もなく, TJ-25の有効性が示された。

バッシャーン。エサやりの担当者が大量のサバを海に放り込むと、銀色の巨体が海中から飛び出し、サバに食いついた。「近大マグロ」の名で知られる完全養殖のクロマグロだ。 完全養殖マグロとは、養殖施設内で人工孵化した親から生まれたマグロのこと。これに対し、天然の幼魚を捕らえてきて生け簀で育てたマグロを「畜養マグロ」と呼ぶ。

Japanese tourism industry is less competitive compared with other countries worldwide. One of the problems Japanese tourism companies have is that they do not have an efficient way to design package tours. This paper proposes a computer aided designing method of package tours that meets various tourists' favors while controlling cost. Tour service is modeled as network that comprises activity, place, capability and enabler. In this model, a tour is described as a flow of activities, which is linked with place, capability and enabler to attach the detailed information. There are three steps to design a tour lineup. First, the network is redesigned by adding improvement if necessary. Second, all possible sequences of activities (tour candidates) are extracted from the network, which are then combined as a lineup. Finally, after feasibility of the lineup is checked, it is evaluated from the viewpoints of tourists and providers. The proposed method has been verified by using developed prototype system through the case of Tokyo day tours.

誰かと手をつないで一緒に散歩するとき、その中ではどのようなやりとりが行われているだろうか。私たちは手をつないで並んで一緒に歩くロボット〈マコのて〉を構築し、言葉を介さずとも互いの気持ちが通じ合うような間身体的なコミュニケーションの可能性について議論を進めてきた。 本研究発表では、人とロボットとが手をつないで歩く際の、人がロボットとつないだ手を動かす行為、ロボットが人とつないだ手を動かす行為に着目し、それらのやりとりが互いの意図や気持ちを探り合う手がかりとなる可能性について述べる。

ユーザエクスペリエンスという概念は今世紀、特に2000年代の後半から現在に至って、これまでユーザビリティに関する活動を行ってきた人々だけでなく、マーケティング関係者や営業関係者など、企業活動を例にとればより広範な関係者に利用されるようになってきた。大学等では、この概念は学生満足度として検討の対象になるため、従来のものづくり関係者だけではない広がりを見せている。しかし、概念定義の標準がないため、単なるセールストークになってしまっている側面もある。そうした状況のなか、特に欧州の関係者は概念定義について議論することが多く、その中から感性的側面を重視する見方がでてきた。それに対し、アメリカはどちらかというと、使えるものなら何でも使って売り上げアップを図ろうという傾向で、概念規定は後からやろうとする傾向がある。ともかく、そうした動きのなかで、従来の中心的概念であったユーザビリティは、品質特性の一部として重視されつつも、それに加えて感性的側面を重視する傾向が強くなっている。本論では筆者が主張している意味性を加えた三つの特性からユーザエクスペリエンスを論じるが、その中でも特に感性情報処理に焦点化して感情と認知の関係などにつき、論述を行った。

Escherichia coli is present in the intestinal tracts of warm-blooded animals. Since E. coli cells are released into the environment through feces, they have evolved to possess the ability to adapt various environments such as soil, river, and ocean. The ocean, in particular, is high in salt concentration, and it is a very severe environment for E. coli, but the E. coli adapted to the marine environment, which leads to its ability to gurvive. In this review, we discuss the adaptation mechanism of E. coli cell to a high salt environment. Furthermore, we interpret an outline about the production of useful materials that can be used for high salinity adaptation of E. coli.

本研究はアメリカ・ニューヨーク市交通局による施策の一つである「Plaza Program(プラザプログラム)」制度を対象とし,(1)制度化に至るまでの同市の歩行者空間に関する施策の変遷,(2)制度の運用方法及び計画された歩行者空間(プラザ)の空間的特徴について整理を行い,制度の特徴を明らかにした.さらに,(3)多様な種類の民間組織によるマネジメントの実態から,マネジメントの成果として,渋滞などの交通問題の緩和に加えて,コミュニティが抱える社会的課題への取組みや地域活動の活発化,景観の魅力向上がもたらされていることを提示した. 以上から得られた知見を総括し,プラザプログラムが短期間に普及してきた要因,従来の街路利活用のマネジメントの仕組みと比較した際の利点と課題を明らかにした.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to elucidate the factors affecting the difficulties in receiving a medical consultation among workers with mental health problems. Methods: The present study was performed using a cross-sectional survey. We requested occupational physicians and nurses who were members of the Japan Society for Occupational Health to distribute self-administered questionnaires to their clients. Results: Ninety-nine workers (68 males and 30 females), aged 40.6 ± 9.1 yr, returned completed questionnaires; 65% of the respondents had been diagnosed with depression. The most common difficulty perceived by them was that there were no intra-office counselors. Multiple regression analysis revealed that the number of months between the onset of mental health problems and the first medical consultation was significantly associated with age and having no sick leave allowance. Conclusions: The implementation and enhancement of sick leave allowance may promote early intervention in regard to workplace mental health problems. Mental health education and regular checkups for older workers is also critical for early detection and intervention of mental health problems.
