高い知能と自律性を持つ機械は,ヒューマンマシンシステムの安全性,効率性,快適性の向上に貢献しているが,人との間に不整合をもたらすこともある.本稿では,人と機械が「自然」な形で共生できるシステムを実現するための課題を,具体例に即して考察する.

In this study, we aimed to evaluate the longitudinal changes in the cranial shape of healthy Japanese infants using a three-dimensional scanner and construct a normal values database for the growth process. Preterm infants (gestational age < 37 weeks), infants with neonatal asphyxia (5-minute Apgar score of <7), and patients who started helmet therapy for deformational plagiocephaly were excluded from this study. The first scan was performed at approximately 1 month of age, followed by two scans conducted at 3 and 6 months of age. The parameters considered were as follows: cranial length, width, height, circumference, volume, cranial vault asymmetry index, and cephalic index. A cranial vault asymmetry index >5% was defined as deformational plagiocephaly. Changes in each parameter were examined using repeated-measures analysis of variance classified by sex and deformational plagiocephaly status. The rate of increase in each parameter was also examined. In total, 88 infants (45 boys and 43 girls) were included in this study. All growth-related parameters were noted to increase linearly with time. Sex differences were observed in all parameters except cranial length. Deformational plagiocephaly was found to have no effect on growth-related parameters. Cranial volume increased by 60% from 1 to 6 months of age. The growth almost uniformly influenced the rate of increase in volume in each coordinate axis direction. Overall, the mean trends in three-dimensional parameters in infants up to 6 months of age were obtained using a three-dimensional scanner. These trends could be used as a guide by medical professionals involved in cranioplasty.

「冬眠」現象を研究する魅力は、5℃以下まで体温を低下させることができる低体温耐性と、そのような極限の体温低下にも関わらず、細胞や組織レベルで異常をきたさず、生体が正常に機能を果たしている点にある。チョウセンシマリスから発見された新規の冬眠特異的タンパク質(Hibernation-specific proteins: HP)に関する研究は、現象の把握に終始してきた冬眠研究を、統合的な生理的調節システムとして理解する道筋を提供した。その結果、チョウセンシマリスでは冬眠を制御する年周リズムが体内で自律的に働き、それが血中のHP量を調節することで、冬眠可能な生理状態を自ら作り出していることが明らかとなった。また、HPの生体内調節の知見に基づき、冬眠期における脳内HPの機能をHP抗体の脳室内投与により阻害したところ、冬眠状態から覚醒状態への速やかな移行が見られ、冬眠の人工的制御が可能であることを証明した。本総説では、これまでに明らかとなっている冬眠調節に関わる生理機構の全貌に加え、冬眠調節の一端を担うことが明らかとなったHPを分子指標として用い、冬眠の進化あるいは地球規模の環境変化による冬眠動物への影響評価といった生態学的・進化学的視点に立った課題の解決に向けた最近の取り組みを紹介する。

Soybean-derived phosphatidylserine (Soy-PS) is a phosphatidylserine made from soybean lecithin by enzymatic reaction with L-serine. A double-blind, randomized controlled study was conducted to investigate the effects of Soy-PS on the cognitive functions of the elderly Japanese subjects with memory complaints. Seventy-eight elderly people with mild cognitive impairment (50–69 years old) were randomly allocated to take Soy-PS (100 mg, 300 mg/day) or placebo for 6 months. As a result, there was no difference in blood markers and vital signs during Soy-PS treatment and any side effect caused by Soy-PS treatment was not observed. Neuropsychological test scores were similarly increased in all groups including placebo group. However, in the subjects with relatively low score at baseline, the memory scores in PS treated groups were significantly increased against the baseline, while those of placebo group remained unchanged. And the memory improvements in Soy-PS-treated groups were mostly attributed to the increase in delayed verbal recall, a memory ability attenuated in the earliest stage of dementia. In conclusion, Soy-PS used in this study is considered as safety food ingredient and 6 months of Soy-PS supplementation could improve the memory functions of the elderly with memory complaints.

皮質下穿通枝4血管について支配領域を検討した.①レンズ核線条体動脈(lenticulostriate artery; LSA)の分枝は,medial,intermediate,lateralの3群に分類される.Medialは尾状核頭部内側,内包前脚,被殻の内側,intermediateは被殻・淡蒼球の前半,尾状核頭部,内包前脚,放線冠前方,lateralは被殻・淡蒼球の後半,内包後脚の上部,放線冠後方を灌流する.②Heubner動脈は,尾状核頭部の下方,被殻・淡蒼球の前下方等,基底核の前腹側を,③前脈絡叢動脈は,内包下部,淡蒼球内節,視床外側,側頭葉内側,中脳を灌流する.④髄質枝梗塞は半卵円中心に小梗塞をきたすが塞栓機序が多い.半卵円中心は皮質枝間の境界領域,放線冠は髄質枝とLSA間の深部型境界領域に相当する.

This article investigates the organization of the leading division of the board of education and the personnel and the duties of educational administrative staff members of the bureau of the board of education. This paper focuses on the case of Kyoto city which arranges experts on educational administration. My intention was to acquire new knowledge about the administrative staff members who have expertise in educational administration. The findings of this paper are follows. First, I confirmed the number of the general administrative staff members and educational administrative staff members, post arrangement, field of the duties from a point of view of making the arrangement of administrative staff members in the leading division of educational administration clear. I compared Kyoto city with an ordinance-designated city of the same scale as Kyoto city and three prefectures. Educational administrative staff members are appointed to the leading division in the cities other than Kyoto city and general administrative staff members are appointed to a limited division as general affairs manager. However, in Kyoto city personnel arrangement keeps trade with educational administrative members and general administrative staff members. This investigation revealed that general administrative staff members are in charge of various kinds of duties such as projects and administration of educational reform.Second, I carried out an investigation by interviewing general administrative staff members of the board of education in Kyoto city who are appointed to the leading division. I found that establishing a relationship between general administrative staff members and educational administrative staff members is the key to confirming how the duties are actually accomplished. I proposed “expert on educational administration” as a new concept of the field of the duties. The advantage of having experts on educational administration is that they are enrolled in the bureau of the board of education for a long time and acquire expertise in educational administration whereas educational supervisors return to school. The difference between these positions has an enormous influence on the way of accomplishing the duties. I pointed out that experts on educational administration in Kyoto city coordinate the conflict between the sort of jobs of experts on educational administration and educational administrative staff members and come up with an idea of politics and a role of expert on educational administration to show that the innovative leadership is the driving force of educational reform in Kyoto city.Last, I focus on general administrative staff members who are assigned to the board of education from the department of the head of the local government and the post and the field of the duties of experts on educational administration. An aim for further research is to acquire knowledge of the future personnel policy of educational administrative staff members.

Effect of nicotinic acid on the formation of catecholamine has been studied. Norepinephrine and dopamine concentrations in brain were 30 per cent higher and brain catecholamine formation was 50 per cent higher in the nicotinic acid-supplemented rats than the nicotinic acid-deficient rats. However, these catecholamine levels of the nicotinic acid-deficient rats were recovered by the administration of nicotinic acid. The concentration of brain tyrosine was unaltered after administration of nicotinic acid to the nicotinic acid-deficient rats. Therefore, the changes catecholamine formation by the nicotinic acid supplementation were not due to the difference of tyrosine concentration in the brain which is the precursor for catecholamine biosynthesis. As the difference of catecholamine concentration between the nicotinic acid deficient and the nicotinic acid supplemented group was smaller than that of catecholamine formation of these groups, the turnover of catecholamine was supposed to be decreased in nicotinic acid deficiency.

This paper investigates how discourse as an analytical framework can be constructed in the development of Michel Foucault's analyses. By doing so, the paper argues that multiple frameworks exist in analysis using the discourse. Moreover, the paper shows that the analytical method used and the character of the discourse in question rely on the researcher's understanding of the mechanism of society, as well as on his attempt to strategize discourse as an analysis framework to better understand social phenomenon.Given these points, a discourse should be understood in relation to the object of analysis. Therefore, the methodological concern should shift from explaining the nature of discourse analysis to assessing the analytical feasibility of the discourse.

本研究では文字のフォントの自動生成, 自動変換のタスクに取り組んでいる. 従来のフォント生成のタスクでは文字をいくつかのストロークから成り立つものとしモデル化を行い作成する\\ 手法が取られてきた. それに対して, 本研究では深層学習により, 画像中のフォント画像ないしパターン画像からストロークに相当\\ する特徴を自動で抽出し, 変換元のフォントから任意のデザインパターンへの変換に挑戦している. この仕組みにより手書き文字のような個人ごとのオリジナルフォントの作成が用意にできるようになる. 実験ではケチャップ文字を始めとしたユニークな質感パターン画像セットを作成し, 深層学習のクロスドメイン学習による手法と Neural Style Transfer の手法とを組み合わせ, 生成結果の可読\ 性を改善した.

This paper examines the living strategies of the indigenous rural-urban migrants in Sarawak, Malaysia, by observing their social, economic, and political activities. In the study area, Sibu town, the population of the Iban increased rapidly in the 1980s locating mainly in squatter areas. Although their organizing ability was not strong, they did conduct profitable negotiations with the administration for their housing condition in cooperation with other ethnic groups. Consequently, they acquired new housing lots in a resettlement scheme, which helped them establish more stable lives in the urban area. However, most of them, including those employed in the formal sector, still intend to return home after retirement and maintain their various rights to property in home villages. Some urban dwellers have a flexible interpretation of their custom to remain as a member of the original village. The strong tie with home village community, however, does not necessarily shackle the urban dwellers. Their choice of staying in a local town is the core of their living strategies, which enable them to continue circulating between urban and rural areas, and make careful preparations for their future life after retirement.

振動抑制に配慮したブラの設計を目的として,乳房サイズの異なる被験者6 名の乳房表面展開パターンに基づき,同一素材・構造で,アンダーバスト詰め寸法の異なる3 種の実験用ブラを製作した.これを用いて,ブラ非着用時およびブラ着用時の,歩行,走行,ジャンプ運動中の乳房振動を,ハイスピードカメラで撮影し三次元動作解析を行った.結果は以下のとおりである.(1)アンダーバストの衣服圧は詰め寸法が大きくなるほど大となり側面部で高い.(2)ジャンプ時では上下方向の振幅と加速度においてブラ着用による有意な振動抑制効果があったが,詰め寸法間には有意差がなかった.各運動の上下方向の振幅・加速度ともに,乳房サイズの大きいL 群は中程度のM 群より有意に高かった.(3)ブラ着用時,走行・ジャンプ時上下方向の加速度は乳房サイズと正の相関を示すが,左右方向の加速度は身体運動と有意な相関を示した.(4)いずれの運動においても乳房とブラはほぼ同様な軌跡で振動し,ブラと乳房のズレは僅少であり詰め寸法の影響も小さかった.

炎色反応は,『化学基礎』では「成分元素の検出」において,『化学』では「アルカリ金属」「2族元素」において必ず取り上げられる学習項目である。様々な色彩の炎が簡単に観察できるので,生徒実験や演示実験が多くの高校で行われてきた。ところが生徒実験としては,教科書から消えている場合もあり,実験方法の紹介も簡単に済ませている教科書が増えている。本稿では,多くの高校で実施されてきた実験方法を紹介するとともに,少し視点を変えた銅の炎色反応の紹介を行う。併せて,炎色反応の歴史的なトピックスや,よく炎色反応の応用例として紹介される花火に関する知見を記し,最後にその今日的な活用例に触れる。

すごろくは日本人にとっては,なじみのあるゲーム形式である.本稿では,大学生に自分自身の人生の物語(ライフストーリー)を,すごろくを使って語らせる試みについて報告する.まず第1に,すごろくによって語られているライフストーリーについて概観した.第2に,大学の授業において,すごろくを作成させる手続きを紹介した.第3に,作成されたすごろくの中から,大学生のライフストーリーの内容を検討した.エピソードとしては大学合格が,また,将来の物語の多くに「分岐」が現れているという共通の特徴が見られた.さらに,自分自身へのメッセージが含まれているものも見られた.すごろくの制作が,学生の自己認識および自己受容につながっていることが示唆された.第4に,この試みの将来の展望を,(1)手法の洗練,(2)研究ツールとしての活用,(3)心理臨床場面での活用,の3分野について検討した.

本研究ではカードゲームのデザインと実践・評価を行い,そのプロセスから学習システムとしての転用可能性を検討した.カードゲームはゲームのルールとカードのコンテンツから成り立っており,それぞれを考える学習システムについて検討した.社会的課題として省エネルギー行動の普及を事例として取り上げ,カードゲームのコンテンツを考案した.カードゲームのルールとして七並べを応用し,カードを並べながらコンテンツの内容と構造を理解していくプロセスを「省エネ行動トランプ」のデザインと実践から考察した.省エネ行動トランプの評価について親子を対象としたワークショップから検討した.またゲーム実施と現実の省エネ行動との関連について大学教育での実践で検討した.さらに七並べのバリエーションを検討し,ワークショップとしてのプログラムを示した.省エネ行動のゲームのルールと学習すべき内容をデザインすること,逆にデザインされたゲームからコンテンツとルールを検討するという両方向を考察することから,この事例の学習システムとしての転用可能性を展望した.
