第二次大戦後欧米の美術史研究は、長期に亘って E. Panofsky の主導の下に展開されたイメージ解釈学-イコノロジー-の強い影響の下にあった。1980年頃を境に、いわゆる New Art History を始めとしてイコノロジーに対する批判が顕在化してくるが、それとてもイメージを記号と看做すという点においては、本質的に前者と決定的に袂を別つに至らなかった。両者に通底していたのは、イメージと言語、あるいはイメージと超越的客観の間に暗黙のうちに前提されていた同一性/同時性であり、その記号論的根拠を脱構築することなくしては、イコノロジーのみならず、十九世紀以来続いてきた近代主義的美術史学の限界突破の難しいことが次第に明らかとなってきた。欧米の美術史学には、1990年頃を境にこの方向に沿っての展開が著しい。本論の著者はこの数年、美術史学の根本をなす可視性/不可視性の問題をさまざまな方角から取り上げてきたが、今回はプラトンから8世紀初頭のダマスコスのヨハネに至る古代-初期ビザンティン思想における「質料/物質」概念の変遷を通覧し、プラトン自身その晩年に示唆するに至った作品の存在論の反イデア的根源-「コーラ」-に注意を向けてみたい。

Although a number of researchers have interpreted what J. Lacan had said about vision, most of their interpretations seem to be insufficient to grasp the essence of the Gaze (regard). This paper explains Lacan's concept of the Gaze through four steps: First of all, accounting for the function of "Lure" using an ethological study of Nicolas Tinbergen. Second, relating some examples of the Gaze referring to Sartre and Merleau-Ponty in the aspect of self-awareness. Third, distinguishing the Picture (tableau) from Painting (peinture), the Gaze from the eye by relating to the mimicry which is advocated by Roger Caillois. Finally, this paper integrates the arguments above and explains the painting contest of Zeuxis and Parrhasios. Therefore it reveals the meaning of "a triumph of the Gaze over the eye" and the object a. We find a relationship between the Gaze and the Idea designated by Plato.

According to the commerce white paper in 2007, the number of medical tourists in Asia reached 1.8million people and the market size extended to 730billion yen as of 2006. Only Thailand accepted 1.45million international patients in 2008. Why medical tourism grows here and has risen suddenly in Asia? In this article, I analyze the background of the sudden rise of the medical tourism in Asia historically, especially in Thailand and add two conditions of the Thailand inimitableness to four conditions of the Diamond model by Michael Porter in order to clarify the factor of the sudden rise . I verify the strength of the medical tourism as the dominant Thai industry and, based on these date, think about the future possibility of the Japanese medical tourism.

モーリス・ブランショ(1907-2003)はフロイトの精神分析とどのような関わりをもったのだろうか。まず気づかれるのは、ブランショが同時代の作家や批評家たちと異なり、精神分析を文学に導入することに対してきわめて慎重であり、文学作品の精神分析的解釈を繰り返し批判したことである。文学言語は作者の精神分析には還元しえない「終わりなきもの」への接近であるというのがブランショの見解であった。他方でブランショは、精神分析理論における「反復強迫」や「死の欲動」に関しては、同じ理由から、文学の経験との親近性を見出していた。注目すべきは、ブランショが1956年の論考「フロイト」において、多くの留保は示しながらも、精神分析における「対話」に「終わりなきもの」との関わりを認めたことである。ブランショにとって、精神分析は治癒のための制度である限りでは文学とは相容れないが、その「対話」においては文学の経験と接近するのである。

This paper develops a novel and efficient algorithm for Bayesian inference in inverse Gamma Stochastic Volatility models. It is shown that by conditioning on auxiliary variables, it is possible to sample all the volatilities jointly directly from their posterior conditional density, using simple and easy to draw from distributions. Furthermore, this paper develops a generalized inverse Gamma process with more fl‡exible tails in the distribution of volatilities, which still allows for simple and efficient calculations. Using several macroeconomic and fi…nancial datasets, it is shown that the inverse Gamma and Generalized inverse Gamma processes can greatly outperform the commonly used log normal volatility processes with student-t errors.

角度分解光電子分光(ARPES)の分解能はここ数年で大幅に向上し,強相関電子物理等の分野で多くの成果を上げている.しかし,フェルミ準位近傍(結合エネルギーE_B<数十meV)のARPESスペクトルを,理論的な一電子スペクトルとの比較から定量的に議論した例はまだ少ない.本稿では,高温超伝導体の高分解能ARPES実験から,BCS理論の予測するボゴリューボフ準粒子の直接観測に成功したので紹介する.
