三浦文法は、時枝誠記により提唱され三浦つとむにより発展的に継承された言語過程説に基づく日本語文法である。言語過程説によれば、言語は対象-認識-表現の過程的構造をもち、対象のあり方が話者の認識を通して表現されている。本論文では、三浦文法に基づいて体系化した日本語品詞体系および形態素処理用の文法記述形式を提案し、日本語の形態素処理や構文解析におけるその有効性を論じた。日本語の単語を、対象の種類とその捉え方に着目し、約400通りの階層化された品詞に分類して、きめ細かい品詞体系を作成した。本論文で提案した品詞体系と形態素処理用文法記述形式に基づき、実際に形態素処理用の日本語文法を構築した結果によれば、本文法記述形式により例外的な規則も含めて文法を簡潔に記述できるだけでなく、拡張性の点でも優れていることが分かった。本品詞体系により、三浦の入れ子構造に基づく意味と整合性の良い日本語構文解析が実現できるものと期待される。

自衛官の急性音響性感音難聴20例24耳について, その回復過程を純音聴力検査にて観察した。症例は18歳から48歳までの男性であった。聴力が正常範囲まで回復した治癒群が5耳, 正常範囲までではないが回復の認められた回復群が13耳, 不変群が6耳であった。音響曝露から受診までの日数が長い症例は不変例が多かった。個々の周波数ごとの回復過程を観察すると, 4000Hzの回復が最も不良であり, 次いで8000Hz, 2000Hzの順であった。急性音響性感音難聴の予後は, 4000Hzの聴力レベルに着目し, それが徐々に回復していけば, 正常範囲まで回復する可能性が高く, 早期にプラトーに達し動かなくなると, 部分的回復にとどまると推測された。

Trapped neutrophil syndrome (TNS) is an autosomal recessive inherited neutropenia known in Border Collies since the 1990’s. Recently, the causative mutation has been identified in the canine VPS13B gene and a DNA-based diagnosis has now become available. The present paper describes clinical and clinico-pathologic findings in a Border Collie with TNS that was molecularly diagnosed for the first time in Japan. In a 10-week-old male Border Collie with microgenesis and symptoms related to recurrent infections, a hematological examination revealed severe leukopenia due to neutropenia, suggesting the dog to be affected by inherited neutropenic immunodeficiency. Direct DNA sequencing demonstrated that the dog was homozygous for the causative mutation of TNS and both its parents were heterozygous carriers. In addition, a simple and rapid polymerase chain reaction-based length polymorphism analysis coupled with microchip electrophoresis was developed for the genotyping of TNS. This assay could discriminate clearly all genotypes, suggesting that it was suitable for both individual diagnosis and large-scale surveys for prevention.

私たちはフェノール性水酸基への糖転移反応を効率的に触媒する新規酵素を得ることに成功した。本酵素、すなわちハイドロキノン配糖化酵素はα-アノマー選択的な配糖化反応を触媒した。さらに本酵素を用いる反応は、生成物である4-hydroxyphenyl-O-α-D-glucopyranosideを非常に高い収量で得ることができ、産業的な利用に十分なレベルを充たしていた。本酵素反応によりコウジ酸やカフェ酸をはじめ多くのフェノール化合物が配糖化されたがアルコールは配糖化されなかった。さらに私たちは本酵素反応により得られた配糖体の一種である4-hydroxyphenyl-O-α-D-glucopyranoside (α-アルブチン) の応用研究に取り組んだ。α-アルブチンはヒト細胞由来チロシナーゼを強力に阻害し、その阻害活性は構造異性体である4-hydroxyphenyl-O-α-D-glucopyranoside (アルブチン) よりも非常に高いものであった。私たちは数種類のα-アルブチン配糖体とアルブチン配糖体を酵素合成した。得られた配糖体のチロシナーゼ阻害活性の比較結果から、分子の大きさとベンゼン環周辺の静電ポテンシャルがハイドロキノン配糖体のヒトチロシナーゼ阻害作用に大きく影響を与えることが示唆された。さらにα-アルブチンのメラニン生合成に対する阻害効果についても検討を行った。α-アルブチンは細胞毒性を示さない濃度域においてヒトメラノーマ細胞やヒト皮膚3次元モデルのメラニン生成を濃度依存的に抑制した。上記の結果よりα-アルブチンは有効かつ安全な化粧品用美白素材であることが示唆された。

Liver cirrhosis was detected at a high rate from among pigs brought to the Omiya Abattoir, Saitama Prefecture, by a swine husbandry man over a period of January to May, 1969. The affected pigs presented no marked gross changes other than liver cirrhosis. Histologically, the liver showed thickening of the stroma and formation of septula, paeudolobules, or pseudo-biliary ducts. Hepatic cells were mostly affected with focal vacuolar degeneration, necrosis, and colliquation. Large nucleated or polynuclear cells appeared. In the kidney, vacuolar degeneration occurred to epithelial cells of some uriniferous tubules, and large nucleated and polynuclear cells appeared. The ovary had follicular cyst.

史料にみられる液状化現象の詳細な分析により,将来の液状化の発生について評価することができる。1854年伊賀上野地震は山城(現在の京都府南部)に被害を及ぼしたが,伏見(現在の京都市伏見区)で局所的に液状化が発生しており,備前岡山藩の記録に泥や砂の噴出や蔵の倒壊が記述されている。史料や地図の詳細な検討により,この液状化の発生地点を特定した。さらに古い時代の地図や同じ敷地内での考古学的な発掘調査を検討したところ,この地点は池を埋め立てた場所であり,地下に砂層をふくむことがわかった。

Microgravity experiments for ice crystal growth were conducted twice in the Japan Experiment Module “Kibo” of the International Space Station. Experimental cartridges newly developed for each experiment were transported to the space station and installed in the SCOF facility. All of the experiments were possibly could be performed by using a tele-control system on the ground. Crystal patterns during free growth of ice crystals in supercooled water were observed by using specially designed interference microscopes. Experiments were carried out for ice crystal growth in supercooled pure water (D2O) and in a supercooled solution (H2O) of antifreeze glycoprotein. Based on analysis of moving images, the pattern formation mechanism of ice dendrites in pure water and the fluctuation mechanism of growth rates in protein solution are discussed.

The authors examined psychiatric emergency cases (n=1219, male 850, female 369) admitted to a psychiatric hospital in Tokyo over a 53-month period (from December 1978 to April 1983), to examine the correlation between monthly numbers of psychiatric admissions and meteorological factors.The results were as follows: 1) Psychiatric emergency admissions of male patients made a peak in spring, whereas female patients showed no obvious seasonal fluctuations. 2) Monthly frequency of admissions was positively correlated with the difference between maximum and minimum temperatures among male non-schizophrenic patients, who consisted mainly of cases of alcohol psychosis including alcohol dependency. 3) Neither of female schizophrenic and non-schizophrenic patients showed any significant correlations with meteorological factors in contrast to male patients.
