Suppressive effects of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) on bone healing process have remained controversial, since no clinical data have clearly showed the relationship between NSAIDs and bone healing. The aim of this study was to assess compensatory response of canine bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) to several classes of NSAIDs, including carprofen, meloxicam, indomethacin and robenacoxib on osteogenic differentiation. Each of NSAIDs (10 µM) was treated during 20 days of osteogenic process with human recombinant IL-1β (1 ng/ml) as an inflammatory stimulator. Gene expression of osteoblast differentiation markers (alkaline phosphatase and osteocalcin), receptors of PGE2 (EP2 and EP4) and enzymes for prostaglandin (PG) E2 synthesis (COX-1, COX-2, cPGES and mPGES-1) was measured by using quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction. Protein production levels of alkaline phosphatase, osteocalcin and PGE2 were quantified using alkaline phosphatase activity assay, osteocalcin immunoassay and PGE2 immunoassay, respectively. Histologic analysis was performed using alkaline phosphatase staining, von Kossa staining and alizarin red staining. Alkaline phosphatase and calcium deposition were suppressed by all NSAIDs. However, osteocalcin production showed no significant suppression by NSAIDs. Gene expression levels of PGE2-related receptors and enzymes, which were up-regulated during continuous treatment of NSAIDs, while certain channels for PGE2 synthesis were utilized differently depending on the kind of NSAIDs. These data suggest that canine BMSCs have compensatory mechanism to restore PGE2 synthesis, which would be an intrinsic regulator to maintain differentiation of osteoblasts under NSAIDs treatment.

An 8-year-old neutered female Cavalier King Charles Spaniel was evaluated for progressing right forelimb lameness. Upon magnetic resonance imaging, the right-sided radius nerves and the caudal brachial plexus were swelled. The histological and molecular biological diagnosis of partial the C8 spinal nerve was T-cell lymphoma. Co-administration of lomustine and irradiation was started. However, this therapy was ineffective. At necropsy, neoplastic tissues were seen extending into the subarachnoid space of the spinal cord, the liver, pancreas and kidneys as gross findings. A large mass was also identified occupying the caudal thorax. Histologic findings included infiltration in these organs and mass by neoplastic lymphocytes. To date, involvement of peripheral nerves (neurolymphomatosis) is rarely reported in veterinary species.

A follow-up questionnaire survey was conducted with 29 cat owners who adopted cats from an animal hospital in Japan. The physical characteristics were shown as important factors for the owners to choose a cat. There were significant differences between impression of the cat for the owners at present and images of their ideal cats, and the levels of aggression and activeness of the cats at present were rated higher than their ideal cats. A significant negative correlation was found between the degree of satisfaction and occurrence of house soiling with the cat, thus some behavioural problems may deteriorate the relationship between the owner and the cat.

本研究の目的は,介護福祉士が仕事上「役立つ」と感じる家政学概論・実習における住生活の内容把握を行い,介護福祉士養成教育に必要な家政学を検討する基礎資料とすることである.長野県内の介護老人福祉施設と介護老人保健施設で働く養成校卒の介護福祉士550人を対象に,自記式質問票調査を実施した(回収率50.4%).調査では,旧カリキュラムにおける家政学概論・実習のうち「住生活」分野について,それぞれ現在の仕事に「役立つ」(4点)~「役立たない」(1点)の4段階で評価してもらった.「概論」では,①全15項目のうち12項目(80%)の平均値が3以上,②平均値3.5以上の上位2項目が事故防止(3.58)とバリアフリーへの対応(3.56),③平均値3未満の下位項目が台所(2.84),営繕(2.95),住居の役割と機能(2.99)となった.「実習」では,①全12項目のうち9項目(75%)の平均値が3以上,②平均値が最も高かった上位2項目が室温と湿度(ともに3.48),③平均値3未満の下位項目がガス及び電気器具等の管理(2.40),水回り(2.62),ゴミ処理(2.63)となった.本研究からは,介護福祉士の多くが,概論・実習を問わず,住生活について仕事上「役立つ」と認識している傾向にあることが明らかとなった.新カリキュラム導入で全科目に占める家政学の割合が減少したとしても,事故防止や室内環境等,住生活に関するいくつかの内容について,その不足分を他科目で補足または強化していく必要性が示唆された.

新しい形のスペクトル拡散システムとして、Ultra Wide Bandwidth-Impulse Radio(UWB-IR)が高速無線通信方式として注目され始めている。ここでは、そのなかでもTH(Time Hopping)方式について注目し、その他局間干渉を低減するために、M-aryの考えを用いて多値化して、伝送速度を落すことなく他局間干渉が低減できる方式を提案する。この提案方式について計算機シミュレーションを行ない、E_b/N_oでBERを比較した所、BERが10^<-3>の時、3.125Mbpsで1ユーザの時約3dB、30ユーザの時約4dBの利得が得られた。

本研究は、日本語の文章の史的展開の中で、文字および表記体が文体に対してどのように関わってきたかを明らかにするものである。文字については、漢字専用時代の漢字の用法としての仮名が、諸文体の中でどのように機能していたかという点に関して、従来、対立的にとらえられていた記紀万葉集と木簡・正倉院文書との仮名に共通する基盤のあることを指摘し、共通する基盤からそれぞれの位相において、その文体に応じた字母が選択されることを明らかにした。表記体のついては、歌と散文との関係において、散文の表記体と歌の表記とのあいだに、それぞれのテキストに応じた選択意識が働いており、中国の仮借の用法からはじまる日本書紀歌謡の方法と、いわゆる変体漢文と仮名との対立による古事記歌謡の方法、割り書きという注補入形式という風土記歌謡の方法とが、古代において成立していること、その様式は、歌が定型か非定型かによって仮名書きになるか宣命書きになるかという対立へと展開し、やがて、文字としての仮名成立以降は、漢字対かなの対立へと展開する.ことを明らかにした。文字としての仮名(ひらがな・カタカナ)成立以降は、表記体の転換によって、表記体と文体とが微妙な差異を生じせしめる。その様子は、三宝絵、平家物語諸本の分析によって、明らかになった。つまり、三宝絵の場合は、成立時の表記体はひらがなであるが、原資料の漢文的な要素が色濃く出ているが、それでも漢字仮名交じりの伝本と比べると和文的要素が強く、それは真名本との対照によって知られる。また、平家物語の原体は漢字仮名交じりであったと推定されるが、そこには、漢文的要素がそのままの形で混入されることがあり、和漢混清の原初的な様相を示している。それは、表記体がひらがなへと移行しても、保存される傾向にあるが、やはり、和文的要素が入り込んでくることが指摘される。

代々木ゼミナールでは、平成元年12月よりJCSAT2号の専用回線を使用し、授業を中心とする各種教育番組の全国中継を行っている。今年の4月からさらに1本の衛星回線を使い、2チャンネル体制となったこの衛星教育システムの現状と今後について説明する。 なお「サテライン」とは、「サテライト(衛星)」と「ライン(通信網)」を合成した造語で、代々木ゼミナール衛星教育システムの総称である。

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of twist angle on tensile strength of diffusion-welded joints by using molybdenum single crystals with (121) and (025) surfaces. Relation between the twist angle and strength is tried to explain with the coincidence site lattice model and a theoretical model calculation. The results are as follows : Single crystals could be welded without recrystallization. Tensile strength of the joints depended on the twist angles. The joints with twist angles up to 10 degree were as strong as the base metal. In case of the twist angles above 10 degree, there were peaks in tensile strength of the joints around the certain twist angles where a number of common lattice points were formed at welding interface. From the calculation, it was shown that the binding energy between the crystals decreased with decreasing the number of common lattice points. Twist angle widths of peaks in tensile strength were estimated with the Brandon's equation.

イネホールクロップサイレージ(イネWCS)と併給する粗飼料をアルファルファ乾草またはチモシー乾草とする2種類の混合飼料(TMR,以下前者をアルファルファTMR区,後者をチモシーTMR区とする)を調製し,イネWCSと併給する粗飼料の飼料特性の違いが未消化子実排泄や乳生産に及ぼす影響を比較検討した。この場合,乾物混合割合はイネwcs,アルファルファ乾草およびチモシー乾草ともに20%とした。乾乳牛でのチモシー乾草の消化管通過速度はアルファルファ乾草のそれより遅く,チモシーTMR区の粗飼料価指数(RVI)はアルファルファTMR区のそれよりも高い傾向があった。その結果,チモシーTMR区の子実排泄率はアルファルファTMR区より低くなる傾向があり,供給粗飼料の違いが牛の咀嚼行動および子実消化性に影響を及ぼすことが示唆された。泌乳牛では両TMR区とも十分な乾物摂取量を維持でき,乳生産も差はなかったことから併給粗飼料の違いによる影響は認められなかった。

本論文では,音声入出力を中心としたマルチモーダル対話システムMultiksDialについて述べる.このシステムは,入力手段に音声認識装置とタッチパネル,出力手段に音声規則合成装置とディスプレイを備え,入出力の双方をマルチモーダル化していることが特長である.また補助入力手段に光電センサを使用し,ユーザの状況を検知しながら操作ガイダンスを提示することによって,スムーズな対話を実現している.MultiksDial上に情報案内システムを構築し,ユーザインタフェースの操作性を評価する.入力手段の比較実験結果から,直接指示可能な音声入力は,階層的な指示を必要とするタッチ入力よりも速く操作を完了できること,また初心者では,操作ガイダンスを合成音声で提示することにより,スムーズな対話が行えることを示す.これらの事実から,対話チャネルのマルチモーダル化は,ユーザとシステムとの対話をより効率よく行うのに有効であることが確認された.

子供の成長記録のように,長期間に渡り蓄積された人物画像コレクションにおいては,同一の被写体であっても顔の外見に大きな経年変化が生じるため,一枚の顔画像をクエリとして特定人物を撮影した画像を検索することは非常に困難となる.本研究では適合性フィードバックの適用により,このような経年変化を含む人物画像コレクションからの特定人物画像検索の精度向上を目指す.我々が収集した人物画像コレクションに対する実験により,5 回フィードバックを繰り返すことにより再現率が 40.8% から 72.5% に上昇することを確認した.Given a single face image as a query, it is very difficult to retrieve images of a specific person from a human image collection stored for long term due to age-related changes in facial appearances. This paper proposes to apply relevance feedback to enhance the performance of image retrieval from the image collections under age variation. For our human image collection, the proposed approach improved the recall rate from 40.8% to 72.5% after five feedback iterations.
