スルピリドおよびオメプラゾール投与中に心室頻拍および心室細動を認めた80代女性の症例を経験した。第1病日昼頃,顔面蒼白,呼吸停止状態で発見された。意識消失を繰り返すため,救急搬送となった。血液検査,心エコー,心臓カテーテル検査を施行したが原因不明であった。心電図分析と持参薬鑑別の結果,スルピリドおよびオメプラゾールによるQT延長症候群が疑われ中止とした。中止後,第2病日にはQTc時間が短縮し,それに伴い心室頻拍がコントロール可能となった。他の要因は認められなかったことも併せ考え,スルピリドまたはオメプラゾール関与の心室頻拍および心室細動であったと考えられた。

This article explores changes in the traditional use of forests and their relationship with belief in tiger spirits in the Cardamom Mountains in southwest Cambodia. Locals inhabiting the mountains believe that spirits associated with tigers bite those who violate taboos on forest use. However, the tiger population has declined due to the wildlife trade, which experienced rapid growth during the civil war of the 1990s. The article examines the impact of the war and wildlife trade on the traditional use of the forest by analyzing the relationships among traditional beliefs, changes in the tiger population caused by the growth of the wildlife trade, and war-related changes in the social order. Before the war, beliefs associating tigers with forest use could be observed on several societal levels. The belief that tigers punish violators was practiced on village and inter-village levels, while another form of belief was also practiced on family and individual levels. However, the tiger’s disappearance from the region because of the wildlife trade made such beliefs ineffective. A new belief arose that violators were punished by crop damage caused by wild pigs and other animals. Nevertheless, those who practiced the belief at the individual and family levels still believed in the association between the tiger and spirits and their role in forest use. Therefore, the impact of the aforementioned factors on tiger beliefs differed according to societal level; the extinction of living tigers does not necessarily result in the disappearance of belief at all levels of society.

The therapeutic effects of anti-methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) agents, vancomycin (VCM), teicoplanin (TEIC), and arbekacin (ABK), depend on their concentrations in blood. Therefore, therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) is important when these antibiotics are used. In the hematological ward at Tokushima University Hospital, pharmacists have ordered the measurement of blood VCM, TEIC, and ABK concentrations to promote the use of TDM in accordance with an agreed protocol since 2013. Moreover, the infection control team includes several medical disciplines and has advised on the optimal treatment using VCM, TEIC, and ABK since 2013. This study aimed to investigate the clinical effectiveness of these pharmacist interventions. We retrospectively studied 145 cases in which patients were treated with VCM, TEIC, or ABK between January 2012 and December 2013 in the hematological ward at Tokushima University Hospital. The patients were divided into a control group (71 cases) and an intervention group (74 cases), and their clinical outcomes were compared. The rate of achievement of effective drug concentrations significantly increased in the intervention group (74%), compared to the rate in the control group (55%). Moreover, univariate and multivariate Cox proportional hazard regression revealed that pharmacist intervention and appropriate concentrations of anti-MRSA agents were independent factors associated with reduced hospitalization periods in patients with lymphoma. Our study revealed that proactive pharmacist intervention may improve the therapeutic effect of anti-MRSA agents in hematology ward patients.

従来の情報モラル教育では,主にトラブル事例の紹介とルールづくりの啓発を扱う場合が多く,子どもたちに「当事者としての問題の自覚」を促すことが課題となっている.例えば,「ネット上で悪口を書かない」という指導では,何がネット上での悪口なのかを子どもたちが,具体的に想像することができず,自分は加害者ではないと考えてしまう可能性がある.そこで,本研究では中学生を対象とし,ネットワークにおけるコミュニケーションについてトラブルにつながる可能性のある行動の自覚を促すことを目的とした情報モラル授業の開発・実践を行った.実践後,質問紙調査や感想の分析を行ったところ授業を通して,トラブルにつながる行動を自覚できたことが明らかとなった.

The methods of citation analysis of scientific journals are reviewed and explained. The methods reviewed are: evaluation of journals, aging of journals, scattering of articles, citation relationship among journals, citation relationship among articles. These methods are able to be applied to library practices of selection, retirement, evaluation of journal collection, user study, and document retrieval.

This study investigated the effects of disinfection of agar-alginate combined impressions on the surface properties of the resulting stone casts. Two brands of cartridge-form agar impression material and one alginate impression material were used. Agar-alginate combined impressions of smooth glass plates were prepared. The impressions were immersed in 0.55% ortho-phthalaldehyde solution or 0.5% sodium hypochlorite solution for 1, 3, 5 and 10 min. A stone cast made with an impression that had not been immersed was prepared as a control. The surface roughness (Ra) of the stone casts was measured, and the cast surfaces were observed by SEM. Immersion of agar-alginate combined impressions in 0.5% sodium hypochlorite solution for up to 10 min had no serious adverse effects on the surface properties of the stone casts. In contrast, even 1 min of immersion in 0.55% ortho-phthalaldehyde solution caused deterioration of the cast surface properties.

多くの都市開発や地域開発において利害対立が発生しており, その調整を図ることは重要な課題となっている.その中でも「開発」対「環境」という構図は典型例の1つである.社会運動は主として社会学分野で研究されるが, 活動の理念や主張に焦点が当てられることが多く, 戦略面での研究は少ない.本研究では公共事業に関する社会運動のうち, 事業が中止となった例と事業が中止にならなかった例を対象に, その運動における社会運動組織の戦略について考察し, その成否を分ける要因を明らかにすることを目的とした.[本要旨はPDFには含まれない]

The 2011 earthquake and tsunami in Japan caused a meltdown at Fukushima nuclear power plant. This paper examines the association between demographics or exposure to potentially upsetting events following Fukushima disaster and psychological and physical well-being of mothers with young children 2 years after the Fukushima nuclear accident. The sample consisted of mothers with preschool children still inhabiting in low level radiation contamination area, 30~90 km distant from the plant. In addition to exposure status, the questionnaire obtained data on radiation anxiety, coping behavior, perceived economic stress and stress moderators. The dependent variables were measured by the K6, SQD (Screening Questionnaire for Disaster Mental Health).Overall, mental health of mothers with young children have been polarized as time passes. The conflict about coping behavior to radiation risk and economic stress increased the vulnerability of mothers to subsequent distress, PTSD, depression. It was confirmed a husband’s childcare participation as a stress moderator. Long-term follow-up study is needed to confirm that the progress of mental health of mothers with young children.

This paper reports on the conceptual design of a three-stage launch vehicle (LV) with a clustered hybrid rocket engine (HRE) through multi-disciplinary design optimization. This LV is a space transportation concept that can deliver micro-satellites to sun-synchronous orbits (SSOs). To design a high-performance LV with HRE, the optimum size of each component, such as an oxidizer tank containing liquid oxidizer, a combustion chamber containing solid fuel, a pressurizing tank, and a nozzle, should be determined. In this study, paraffin (FT-0070) is used as a propellant for the HRE, and three cases are compared: In the first case, HREs are optimized for each stage. In the second case, HREs are optimized together for the first and second stages but separately for the third stage. In the third case, HREs are optimized together for each stage. The optimization results show that the performance of the design case that uses the same HREs in all stages is 40% reduced compared with the design case that uses optimized HREs for each stage.

Seven governments in Asia—China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Thailand and Taiwan—supply their own pharmacopoeias to people. The Chinese Pharmacopoeia has been in recorded history since the sixth century. The Japanese Pharmacopoeia is as influential as the EP or the USP. I explain the Japanese Pharmacopoeia and other Asian pharmacopoeias in this issue.
