一般的にフェイス(面子)研究の原点は,コミュニケーション研究であるが,外国語教育研究において,フェイス研究の実証研究は稀少であるため,未だに発展途上の分野である。本稿では,フェイスと外国語学習を考察する。まず背景にある,ゴフマン(1967)のフェイス理論,またその影響を受けたブラウンとレヴィンソン(1987)のポライトネス理論を論じる。次にゴフマンと同様,フェイスを普遍的だと論じるリンとバウワーズ(1991)が提唱する構成概念を紹介する。また中国発祥と言われる文化特有のフェイスの具体例として,中国人留学生を対象とした研究も紹介する。本稿では普遍的・文化特有,それぞれの立場のフェイスの諸研究を考察し,感情とフェイスの関連のように潜在的可能性のある分野にも触れ,外国語教育への応用も検討する。

微弱な信号に対する非線形システムの応答性がノイズの存在下で増強される現象 として,確率共鳴が知られている.これに対して本研究では,非線形システムの典型例であるカオスニューロン系が示すカオスによる決定論的共鳴現象について検討する.シミュレーションによる詳細な解析を行った結果,微弱な外部信号に対する高感度な検出能力が確認された.この性質はノイズフリーな状況において出現するものであり,従来の白色ノイズの存在下で生じる確率共鳴とは大きく異なっている.

Cinnamon Bark is the bark of the trunk of Cinnamomum cassia Blume (Lauraceae), or such bark from which a part of the periderm has been removed, which is designated in the Japanese Pharmacopoeia Sixteenth Edition. It is used in many stomachics of Kampo formulas, and also used as a spice which flavor is unique and favoured around the world. Origin plant species of Cinnamon Bark has some relative species, and they are used for medicinal and food purposes in many countries. It is difficult to distinguish C.cassia from other species only by appearance and taste when they are in a form of powder which is one of the most common styles for use. In order to develop methods for identification of origin plant of Cinnamon Bark, we tried some procedures using DNA sequences. Fresh leaves whose origin plant species were known were used to search for suitable DNA regions to distinguish C.cassia, and rbcL region was found. A combination of PCR amplification with restriction enzyme digestion of DNAs from either fresh leaves or powder could distinguish C.cassia from others. The method we developed in this research could be one of the solutions for the difficulties of DNA extraction and PCR amplification of some crude drugs because of their viscous liquid. It worked well for the samples whose DNA was fragmented by heat and dry. So this method may support the identification of other origin plants which were difficult to be distinguished by conventional simple DNA sequencing method.

[Purpose] The aim of this study was to determine the acute effect temporal of a complex training protocol on 30 meter sprint times. A secondary objective was to evaluate the fatigue indexes of military athletes. [Subjects and Methods] Seven military athletes were the subjects of this study. The variables measured were times in 30-meter sprint, and average power and peak power of squats. The intervention session with complex training consisted of 4 sets of 5 repetitions at 30% 1RM + 4 repetitions at 60% 1RM + 3 repetitions of 30 meters with 120-second rests. For the statistical analysis repeated measures of ANOVA was used, and for the post hoc analysis, student’s t-test was used. [Results] Times in 30 meter sprints showed a significant reduction between the control set and the four experimental sets, but the average power and peak power of squats did not show significant changes. [Conclusion] The results of the study show the acute positive effect of complex training, over time, in 30-meter sprint by military athletes. This effect is due to the post activation potentiation of the lower limbs’ muscles in the 30 meters sprint.

This paper analyzes the practice of legal assistants at law firms in Japan. Lawyers sometimes say that legal assistants should acquire more legal knowledge and legal skill than now for the rational management of law firms. The process of providing legal services at law firms is constructed not only of legal knowledge and legal skill, but also of many communications among lawyers, clients and legal assistants. This paper argues that, for lawyers, teamwork with legal assistants is an important part of reasonable legal practice.

福島原発事故被災地における効率的な除染に資する事を目的に、指向性があるガンマ線自動車走行サーベイシステムを開発した。開発したシステムは、異なる6方向(自動車の進行方向の前後左右及び上下)に向けて設置した6台の鉛遮蔽体付検出器で構成され、それぞれの方向から入射するγ線の計数率を個別に測定できる。被災地での実測結果より、開発したシステムが、指向性があるガンマ線自動車走行サーベイシステムとして機能する事を示した。

酪農家の牛舎の屎尿処理槽と連結した簡易トイレで発生したメタンガス引火による熱傷の1例を報告した。後日同様条件下で, この処理槽より燃焼濃度に達するメタンガスを検出し得た。家畜の屎尿から発生するメタンガスに対し, 充分な安全対策はとられておらず, 適切な指導が必要と思われた。
