2006年名古屋万国博覧会のロボットステーションで、NEC製のパーソナルロボット「パペロ」を展示、デモンストレーションを行った。そこで子どもたちはパペロに触れ合い、パペロとコミュニケーションを行った。来場した子供の中には、特に「パペロ」が気に入り、期間中何度もパペロに会いに来た子どもたちがいた。本研究では、そのように何度もパペロとの触れ合いを求めてやってくるリピーターの子どもたちを対象にして、何故彼らがそれほど「パペロ」に惹かれるかを調べることを目的とした。具体的には、リピーターの子どもたちに「パペロのイメージ」というテーマでコラージュを作ってもらい、そのコラージュを中心にしてデプス・インタビューを行った。その結果から、リピーターの子どもたちが、何故「パペロ」にそれだけ惹かれるのかを探ることとした。

本論文では,従来の HMM 音声合成において曖昧であったアクセントラベリング基準について検討を行い,合成音声への影響を調べる.具体的には,アクセント型の表現およびアクセント句境界の基準について検討する.アクセント型については,尾高型が 0 型とモーラ長型の 2 通りの表現があることに着目し,それらを用いた場合に合成音声の F0 がどのような影響を受けるかについて客観評価を行う.また,2 段階クラスタリングを用いる効果についても検証する.アクセント句境界については,アクセント句によっては 0 型と 1 型の 2 つのアクセント句で表現する場合と,それらを結合し 1 つのアクセント句として表現する場合があり,これらの違いが合成音声に与える影響を調べる.またこれらの評価において,日本語アクセントの高低の誤りを客観的指標として導入し,この指標の有効性について分析を行う.

歯周治療の一環として禁煙治療が歯科保険に導入されるためには、禁煙治療の介入による歯周治療の成果が極めて良好となることが重要である。そこで、禁煙外来受診による改善を、一般的に行われている臨床パラメータと歯肉溝滲出液と血漿成分の生化学的成分解析、さらには禁煙達成マーカーである血漿中コチニンと呼気CO濃度の変化を検索した。その結果、禁煙外来受診により、禁煙達成マーカーが減少し、さらには自己申告による禁煙の達成から、禁煙外来受診は禁煙に対し有効な戦略である。しかしながら、生化学的変化は認められなかった。今後長期的な追跡が必要であると考えている。

近年,話し言葉を対象とする自然言語処理の分野において対話コーパスを利用した研究が盛んに行われている.しかしながら,従来利用されている対話データは,模擬的な実験環境において収集された対話 (模擬対話) であり,実際の状況下で得られるであろう対話 (実対話) と言語的・対話的性質が同じであるとは限らない.そこで,我々は,模擬対話と実対話の定性的,定量的な共通点/相違点を明らかにするための材料として,2つの対話領域において模擬対話と実対話をそれぞれ収集した.本稿では模擬対話と実対話を規定する要因について考察し,実対話を収集するための実験環境を設計する.また,この設計に基づいて実際に行った実対話収集実験についても述べる.In recent years various kinds of dialogue corpora have been constructed and used for studies on dialogue and spoken language. In conventional dialogue collection, however, systematically collecting a large amount of dialogues and constructing a very large corpus are considered critically important, while the spontaneity of the dialogues collected is not a point to be carefully considered. "Spontaneous dialogue" does not mean that the dialogue itself is spontaneous but means that an utterance in the dialogue is spontaneous. However, it is obvious that the spontaneity of a dialogue determines the structure and aspect of the dialogue. Therefore, in this article, we consider the spontaneity of a dialogue and propose a method for collecting spontaneous dialogues in an experimental environment. We also describe the two kinds of experiments which we actually conducted for collecting spontaneous dialogues.

Inverted pendulum vehicles controlled by movement of driver's center of gravity (COG), such as Winglet or Segway are the examples of Personal Mobility Vehicles (PMV). PMV is sometimes expected to be used in pedestrian spaces. When a driver brakes an inverted pendulum vehicle suddenly, the driver has to move his/her COG backward largely and has the risk to lose his/her balance due to the characteristics of vehicle control. Therefore, we aim to achieve a vehicle control system that is friendly to drivers in emergency. In the previous study, the coupling model of a vehicle and a human had been built on Multibody Dynamics and the technique to brake an inverted pendulum vehicle automatically had been proposed using that model. In this study, we carried out two experiments to decide the timing of the automatic braking system defined as Time To Collision (TTC). We carried out two experiments about stopping distance when a driver brakes an inverted pendulum vehicle suddenly and when the automatic braking system is operated, and we compared those results. Then, it was shown that stopping distance operated by the automatic braking system is shorter than by human driver's sudden braking operations. In addition, we derived TTC1 ( 0.7 s ) of inverted pendulum vehicles from these experiments about stopping distance by human drivers' sudden braking. Then, we derived reaction time ( 0.4 s ). Finally, we proposed a safety system using TTC1 and the reaction time. When TTC reaches 1.1[s], the alarm makes a human brake an inverted pendulum vehicle suddenly. Then if a human doesn't brake an inverted pendulum vehicle suddenly and TTC reaches 0.7[s], the automatic braking is operated.

(2-Deoxy-2-fluoro-4-thio-β-d-arabinofuranosyl)thymine (S-FMAU) was synthesized very efficiently from corresponding d-arabinofuranose derivative 16a which was available in bulk. Three important transforming methods were mainly described. One was the practical inversional bromination process for secondary alcohol generated by opening furanose ring. Another was the highly efficient thiofuranose synthesis via intramolecular carbonyl assisted SN2 reaction. And the last was the β-selective glycosylation process with thymine derivative. Applications of the thiofuranose synthesis using intramolecular carbonyl assist were also discussed.

A survey was carried out on the okara-eating preference and its eating habit among 255 femal students at university and college in Hyogo and Osaka in July 2004. Okara was acceptable food for most of the students. But the majority of them ate okara less than 1 or 2 times per year. In terms of cooking, unohana was ranked at the top. Approximately 65% of the students bought dish cooked with okara in the market.

近代西欧科学の発展過程においてモデルとなった古典力学は,17世紀後半にニュートンによってその基礎を築かれたとみなされているが,『プリンキピア』における議論はまったく幾何学的なものであって,現代の我々が馴染んでいるような解析的な科学として成立したのは,18世紀中頃から後半のことである.本研究では,この古典力学の解析化・体系化の過程を,その過程において中心的な役割を果たしたレオンハルト・オイラーの力学理論を中心に検討した.彼以前にも,18世紀前半には,ヨハン・ベルヌーイ,ジャン・ダランベール,ダニエル・ベルヌーイらによって力学の解析化の試みがなされていたが,本研究で検討したように,彼らは,幾何学的に微分小量間の関係式を導くことによって物体の軌道を求めていた.それに対して,オイラーは,空間に固定された座標軸を設定し,各座標に対して二階の微分方程式の形式の運動方程式を立てて問題を解くという方法を体系的に用い,運動エネルギーや角運動量の保存則を導出している.さらに彼は,その方法を質点から剛体へと拡張し,剛体の運動方程式を導出した.このオイラーにおける新しい代数的解析学に基づく力学への転換は,本研究で明らかにしたように,1740年代後半に,惑星運動の考察,そして剛体運動の研究と結びついて起こった.また,彼の運動方程式自体も,それ以前と以後とでは数学的表現が大きく変わっていることも明らかになった.すなわち,初期には,運動方程式の導出はガリレオの落下法則と結びついており,距離の一階微分方程式という特異な形態を取っていたのである.後期には座標の二階微分方程式の形態を取るようになり,落下法則の影響も薄れていくが,単位系としてその影響は残っている.本研究の成果として,オイラーの力学に関する重要な論文を翻訳し,『オイラー力学論文集』として刊行する準備を進めている.

This paper is an attempt to cast light on an idea shared by F. H. Bradley and Bertrand Russell even after the latter revolted against the former's monistic idealism. I argue that both accepted, at least when the latter completed A Critical Exposition of the Philosophy of Leibniz, the idea that every judgment has a state of affairs as its content, where a state of affairs is understood as part of the universe that can be described by a declarative sentence. First, I attempt to show that Russell's tacit acceptance of the idea underlies his claim, developed in the commentary on Leibniz, that if every judgment comprises a subject and a predicate, there can be at most one substance. I then turn to Bradley's thought, arguing that the idea is an immediate consequence of the central tenet of his theory of judgment: every judgment ascribes a universal to reality. Finally, to show that he was indeed aware of the consequence, I introduce what he called the 'problem of error'.
