本研究は,マンガの読みに固有の読解力や,文章の読みと共通する読解力の内実を明らかにするために,マンガの読解力と文章の読解力の関係性について検討することを目的とした。マンガの読解力および文章の読解力の測定にあたっては,マンガと文章それぞれについて,van Dijk & Kintsch(1983)の文章理解モデルにおける3つのレベルの表象(表層レベル・テキストベース・状況モデル)を反映する設問からなる理解度テストを実施し,得点間の媒介分析ならびに相関分析を行った。その結果,マンガと文章の表層レベルに関する問題の得点はテキストベースに関する問題の得点を媒介して,状況モデルに関する問題の得点に影響していることが示され,マンガの読解においてもvan Dijk & Kintsch(1983)の文章理解モデルが適用できることが示唆された。また,マンガと文章の読解力の関連性に関して,表層レベルの理解では異なる認知能力が寄与している一方,テキストベースや状況モデルの読解では共通する認知能力が寄与していることが示唆された。本研究で得られた知見を踏まえ,マンガの読解と文章の読解の共通点や相違点について議論した。

Japanese comics (manga) are now one of the most popular reading media among young generations. However, the cognitive mechanisms that might underlie reading comprehension of manga remain unknown. This study aimed to clarify the characteristics of reading comprehension of manga with respect to the functions of working memory. In this study, 61 sixth grade readers were asked to read a manga story and then complete a comprehension test based on van Dijk & Kintsch’s (1983) model of three distinct levels of text representation: the surface form, the propositional textbase, and the situation model. The participants then completed several types of working memory tests measuring verbal short-term memory, verbal working memory, visuo-spatial short-term memory, and visuo-spatial working memory. Correlational analysis and multiple regression analysis were used to assess the associations between each level of reading comprehension and each of the working memory capacities. The results showed that high-capacity readers for both verbal and visuo-spatial working memories showed a higher performance compared to other readers in the process of textbase comprehension, implying the involvement of integrated propositional representation of verbal and visuo-spatial information for understanding manga stories. On the other hand, verbal and visuo-spatial components of working memory were found to be separately involved in situation model processing. Based on these findings, media characteristics of manga and its potential usefulness as a learning material in language class are discussed.

When reading narrative stories, readers monitor discontinuity of characters, space, time, goals, and causality of events and update their situation models. This study examined how illustrations of narratives influence readers’ ability to monitor story events using a verb-clustering task in which readers were asked to group verbs from a narrative into related pairings. Results showed that readers who read a text-only narrative paired verbs that were continuous in both the character and time dimensions. In contrast, readers who read a narrative with illustrations paired verbs that were continuous not only in the character and time dimensions but also in the causality dimension. These findings suggest that illustrations of narratives function to enrich the contents of situation models. Furthermore, an additional experiment showed that positioning of illustrations within the text impacted the situation model construction. Therefore, the utility of illustrations for promoting the construction of situation models and efficient comprehension of a narrative story are discussed.

対人依存欲求が高校生のインターネット(以下,ネット)利用の性差に及ぼす影響ついて検討した.ネット利用に関する項目として,ネットの利用時間やその利用内容,例えばLINE のトーク数やグループ数,Twitter のツイート数やアカウント数,ゲームの利用時間,さらにネット依存傾向の高低を調査対象とし,それらと対人依存欲求との関連を検討した.その結果,女子はネット利用と対人依存欲求に関連がみられたが,男子は特にその関連がみられなかった.これらの知見から,ネットでコミュニケーションを取る相手への態度や向き合い方に男女間で質的な違いがみられることが,高校生のネット利用やネット依存傾向の性差につながっている可能性が示唆された.

Impression made by the color of cellular phones was investigated. We presented pictures of an identical cellular phone with 16 different body colors to 194 observers and asked them to evaluate the appearance of the pictures by using the Semantic Differential (SD) method. The results of factor analysis indicated that there were three factors of impressions: masculine-feminine, gorgeous-staid, and evaluation. A subsequent confirmatory factor analysis supported the factorial validity of the proposed three-factor model. It also revealed that there were significant gender differences in certain factor scores and intrafactor correlations. We applied the “positioning analysis” method (Toyoda, 2001) for the SD data, and mapped the loading values for SD scales and colors on a 2 dimensional plane. Implications regarding the underlying structure of impression and its relationship with the body color of cellular phone are discussed.

東日本大震災では多くの被災者が生じ、彼らの多くは政治弱者となった。本研究は、彼らの視点から電子民主主義の可能性について検討を行った。とりわけ、彼らの投票参加を容易にする電子投票・インターネット投票について注目した。福島県民意識調査の結果から、回答者の多くは電子投票・インターネット投票に肯定的であることが明らかとなった。しかし、選管事務局職員は、こうしたICTを活用した取り組みに難色を示す傾向が見られた。ICTを利用した投票参加システムを整備するにあたっては、彼らが持つ懸念を払拭する必要があることが肝要であり、財源の担保に加えシステムの信頼を高める努力が必要であることが明らかになった。

妊娠子宮の尿管の圧迫による急性腎不全はまれである. また, 単腎症例の尿管閉塞は致命的な危険をともなう. 我々は, 先天性単腎症の妊娠経過中に尿管の閉塞による無尿をきたし, 腎痩造設術を行った後に妊娠36週で経膣分娩した1例を経験したので報告する.

While it has been claimed that retrieval practice (RP) is much more advantageous than other learning strategies, the effects of RP on the re-studying phase are still not well understood. In the present eye-tracking experiment, participants in the Non-RP (NRP) group simply read the text twice. On the other hand, the RP group read the text twice with a free-recall task between the first and the second reading. The results showed that while the NRP group showed significantly less reading time, fewer fixations, and less fixation duration in the second reading than in the first reading, the RP group showed the same reading time, fixation count, and fixation duration in the second reading as in the first reading. These findings suggest that RP modulates the cognitive processes in the second reading and this function may facilitate memory consolidation.

The effects of package color on taste impression by appearance of plastic bottled green tea were studied. In Experiment 1, participants rated the taste impressions (sweetness, astringency, mellowness, refreshment, umami, strength, flavor, quaffableness, liking) by appearance of plastic bottled green tea with nine color packages (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, brown, black, and white). It was showed that the ratings varied with color for all these taste impressions. In Experiment 2, AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) procedure was used to investigate how participants evaluated their preference for colors. Three kinds of taste impressions (sweetness, strength, and quaffableness) were designed as evaluation items in AHP. The results revealed that green color made a favorable impression on all evaluation items. Cluster analysis was then applied to assess potential individual difference of the preference for taste impressions. It was shown that evaluation pattern could be classified mainly into three types (high scores on sweetness, strength, or quaffableness, respectively), and that there may be differences of the preference for colors among different types of the preference for taste impressions.

街並の雰囲気という表現に代表されるように,我々は明示的な指摘は難しいものの,何処か感じる街並の魅力をおよそ無意識ともいえるよう感覚的に捉えている.認知科学に基づけば,この街並の雰囲気の捕捉は,自動的処理により形成された街並イメージの認知と解釈できる.そこで,本研究では商業地街路を対象に,自動的処理による商業地街路の認知の存在を感情プライミングパラダイムに基づき検証した.その結果,特に商業地街路の心理的距離は自動的処理により認知されることを明らかにするとともに,その認知は店頭に陳列される実物商品の量に依拠しており,商品の量が多いほどポジティブな感情価として処理される傾向があることを示した.

インターネット技術の発展に伴う情報機器やその関連コンテンツの普及が人間の認知や行動を変えているという見方がある.しかしながら,その見方を議論するまでの知見の蓄積は不十分である.そこで本稿では,この見方を,個人のインターネットを含めた各種メディアの利用傾向とテキストの読みとの関係から検討した.具体的には,メディア利用傾向がテキストの課題成績や読み時間に及ぼす影響について,相関分析と重回帰分析から検討した.その結果,日常的なSNSの接触頻度が高いほど,テキストの課題成績が低くなることが見出された.この結果は,インターネットの利用傾向の違いがテキストの読みのあり方に影響を及ぼしている可能性を示唆した.

ペットボトル緑茶飲料のパッケージカラーがその味覚印象に及ぼす効果について検討した。実験1では、パッケージカラーとして9色(赤、橙、黄、緑、青、紫、茶、黒、白)を提示し、味覚印象(甘み、渋み、まろやかさ、爽快感、うまみ、味の濃さ、飲みやすさ、香りのよさ、嗜好)の評定を求めた。その結果、これらのすべての味覚印象に対する評価は色によって変化することが示された。実験2では、評定者がどのようにして色の選好評価をしているかを調べるために、AHP(階層化意思決定法)を用いた検討を行った。AHPにおける評価項目として、甘さ、濃さ、飲みやすさの3つを設定した。分析の結果、緑はすべての評価項目において最も好ましさを感じさせるパッケージカラーであることが明らかとなった。

本研究ではマンガの読解指導について検討するための基礎的知見を得るために,小学校高学年を対象に,(1)マンガを含むメディアへの接触頻度,(2)マンガの読み方,(3)マンガへの意識・態度に関する調査を行った。その結果,マンガの読み頻度は1990年に行われた調査と比較して低いことが示された。一方で,児童を取り巻くメディア環境が大きく変化した今日においても,小学校高学年児童の多くはマンガに対して肯定的な意識をもっていることが示された。マンガに対する意識を測る尺度得点について因子分析を行った結果,マンガの有用感,マンガの分かりやすさ,マンガの悪影響,マンガへの低評価という4因子構造が得られた。それらの下位尺度得点と,読み方の関係を検討するために相関分析を行った。その結果,マンガに対して肯定的な意識をもっている児童は,マンガを深く理解する読み方をしていることが示唆された。そこで,マンガの読み方を目的変数,マンガに対する意識を構成する4つの因子の下位尺度得点を説明変数として重回帰分析を行ったところ,マンガに対する有用感がマンガの読み方に影響を与えていることが示唆された。

高校生による教育用SNS を活用した協調的議論に対する生徒の自己評価に影響を及ぼす要因の検討を目的として,教育用SNS を活用した議論演習を2回行った.対照群として対面での議論演習を行う群を用意した.事前と事後の質問紙調査,および議論演習後の議論への自己評価に関する質問の回答を分析した.その結果,教育用SNS を活用した議論においては,グループの人数が増えるほど,生徒は根拠などの理由を伴い主張する論証のスキルが向上したと実感する傾向が示唆された.加えて,情報の判断力や表現力などの議論に関連した意識や態度の変容と,論証の出来不出来に対する生徒の自己評価が関連することが示唆された.

本研究では教育用SNSを利用した協調的問題解決の特徴を検討することを目的とした.高校2年生を2つのグループに分け,124人は教育用SNS,114人は対面での協調的問題解決にそれぞれ取り組ませた.議論を円滑に遂行するためのスキルに対しての自己評価や,議論の内容,および授業成果物を検討した結果,教育用SNSを利用した議論では,発話数が対面での議論より少ないにもかかわらず,授業成果物の質は対面でのそれとほぼ同程度となり,アイデアの独創性については対面での成績よりも高くなることが示唆された.加えて,議論を遂行するために多様なスキルを使って取り組むことが示唆された.教育用SNSを利用した協調的問題解決の有効性や演習時の要件などに関して考察した.

The six attentional-style subscales of the Test of Attentional and Interpersonal Style (TAIS, Nideffer, 1976) have been used mainly in the sport psychology area to investigate the relationship between attentional abilities and performance. This study assessed the validity of the Japanese version of the TAIS attentional-style subscales with 157 male and 163 female students. A confirmatory factor analysis failed to validate Nideffer's attentional dimension of bandwidth (narrow to broad attention) and direction (internal to external). The findings replicate previous studies which showed that the structure of the TAIS attention-related subscales is not reasonable and its factorial validity does not meet the needs of psychometrics.

近年,教室等において児童がICTを用いて自分の考えや意見を発表する機会が増加している.教室のICT環境や発表に用いるICTが異なれば,児童の発表に対する態度も異なる傾向を示すことが予想される.そこで,本研究では,教室のICT環境が異なる学級において,複数の発表方法についての,児童の発表に対する態度に関する質問紙調査,及びインタビューを実施した.その結果,児童は発表者としては自分の席で発表を行うことに対して積極的な態度を取り,聞き手としては教室の前で行われる発表を聞くことに対して積極的な態度を取ることが示された.また,タブレットPCが常設されている学級ではタブレットPCを用いて発表を行うこととその発表を聞くことの双方において積極的な態度を取り,常設されていない学級ではタブレットPCを用いない方法で発表を行うことに対して積極的な態度を取ることが示された.
