本研究の目的は、大災害に耐えうるローカル・フードシステムの成立条件を明らかにすることである。そのため、1)米を中心とする基礎的な食料の流通・供給システムの解明、2)東日本大震災の被災地である福島県・宮城県を中心とした被災地における関係者の連携の在り方、さらに、3)諸外国におけるローカル・フードシステムの特徴などを個別事例をもとに調査した。その上で、最終的には、米国農務省が公表したローカル・フードシステムの理論的背景・実践事例の報告書を翻訳し、国際的な視点で知見を共有可能としたものである。

本論文では,PC の操作画面やアプリケーション画面をほぼリアルタイムに配信するWeb システムのための伝送量圧縮手法「Interframe Compression Method for HTML Push-out」(ICMHP)を提案する.著者らが実装したQuickBoard は,PC のデスクトップ画面をスナップショット画像として画像ファイルに保存し,これをHTTP でWeb サーバからWeb ブラウザに擬似プッシュ転送するWeb システムであるが,ICMHP はこのような情報プッシュ型Web システムに適した伝送量圧縮手法である.ICMHP は,プラグインやActiveX 等のプラットフォームに依存したコンポーネントを用いることなく実装できることが特徴である.このため,汎用的なWeb ブラウザや,PDA 等に搭載されている簡易Web ブラウザにPC 画面を配信する際に用いることが可能である.本論文では,実際の教育現場の要求を観察した結果について報告し,この観察結果に基づいて作成したプロトタイプシステムについて述べる.We developed "Interframe Compression Method for HTML Push-out" (ICMHP), a method integrating interframe compression mechanism used in video compression technology with web-server-side technology, delivering computer-screen images to standard web browsers, or even PDA portable web browsers. This paper describes a QuickBoard web-server system that implemented ICMHP scheme. The system allows users to deliver computer-screen images of any application to more than 100 web browsers running on various devices in quasi-real-time. That no client software except a standard web browser is needed for the user's PC is an important feature of the system. This paper describes the implementation and evaluation of the prototype we developed.

The microbial screening is an approach for discovering medicines out of microbial metabolites. The natural products (microbial metabolites) are known to possess very unique and complicated structure that could not be imagined. In addition, many of them also have highly potent and selective (specific) biological activities. This report focuses on the feature and present situation of microbial screening in drug discovery field. Firstly, the recent study and development on antitumor antibiotics, duocarmyicins (related compounds) and calicheamicin γ1IIthat indicate extraordinary potent activity, are reviewed. Next, the biochemical and pharmacological study on KS-505a (C 40 tetraterpenoid) produced by Streptomyces argenteolus, a PDE 1 (calcium/calmodulin-dependent phosphodiesterase) isoform selective inhibitor, is presented. The relationship between the microbial screening and recent “chemical biology” or “chemical genetics” approach is also discussed, using for examples, the mode of action of rapamycin and stem cell-based medicine. Finally, the basic strategy in microbial screening (method, target diseases etc.) is described.

The clinical features of 14 patients with deafness due to mumps who underwent treatment in Jichi Medical School Hospital from April 1993 to March 2003 were reviewed. The diagnosis was made according to the criteria for diagnosis of mumps deafness determined by the Acute Profound Deafness Committee set up by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Japan.The number of patients with mumps has gradually increased since 2000, and the number of patients in 2002 was about 3 times greater than that in 2000.The age distribution of the patients in our hospital was 3 to 34 years old and half of the patients were 5 to 9 years old. The onset time of hearing loss in 10 cases was within 8 days after the appearance of parotid swelling. All 14 patients had unilateral total deafness or profound sensorineural hearing loss. Nine were treated with corticosteroids. Hearing loss did not improve after treatment in any patient. The importance of mumps vaccination should be reconsidered.

現在,ワープロソフトを使用しての文章作成が主流である.しかし,従来技術による文字入力は入力内容をそのまま日本語変換するだけである.これでは表現の仕方が自分任せであるため,語彙が豊富な人でないと偏った言い回しになってしまう.そのため表現が偏り単調な文章になってしまう.そこで,本研究では日本語入力システム (IME) を利用して変換単語に使用されることの多い修飾語を Web 上の文章から取得,また単語の類語を表示することで表現の偏りの解消や発想支援を行うシステムを作成した.評価実験によりシステムの有用性と課題を知ることができた.

プログラミング授業は大学や専門学校等の情報系学科では必須科目となっているが,大学で初めて習う学生の多くはプログラミングに対する苦手意識が強い.そこで本研究では,プログラミング初学者がかかえる問題を早期に発見できるプログラミング学習支援システムを構築し,実際の演習授業で運用を試みた.つまずいている学生の早期発見と,多くの学生が共通にかかえる問題の発見を可能にすることが本研究の目的である.本研究の目的を達成するために,Webブラウザ上で動作するプログラミング演習支援システムを構築し,学生の操作ログ・エラーログを収集して解析できるようにした.評価実験と改良を繰り返し行い,結果として,学生の学習状況を把握しやすくなったことが分かった.The programming exercise is a required subject in the department of information systems in colleges and universities. Most of the students are programming beginners right after they entered university. Our goals are to enable to detect the students who have stumbled, and know problems that many students are facing in common. For this purpose, we built programming exercise support system that runs on a Web browser. The system is able to collect and analyze students' error logs. As a result of the repeated experiments and improvements, the system enabled lecturers to easily grasp the situation of the programming class.
