Previous studies suggest, contrary to our naive understanding that ideas for innovation are generated by supply-side such as product developers, that the ideas can be actually generated by consumers, especially the users called “early adopters” who keep some distance from product developers in product adoption and knowledge. This research tested, through two experiments for idea generation, which was more important to idea generation for innovation; information, i.e. preceding ideas about new usage of a product, or individual cognitive feature, i.e. innovator or early adopter. One experiment was conducted with general consumers, taking as an example idea generation for new products and services related to information technology, and the other was done with R&D members in a real company. The results suggest that information, i.e. preceding ideas about new usage of a product, was important to generation of creative ideas for innovation and, at the same time, that it was early adopters rather than innovators who could make effective use of the information in the idea generation: This is considered to call for a rethink of “sticky information hypothesis” by von Hippel (1994), which claims the dominant role of information in innovation. This research also suggests, through an additional experiment for information retrieval, that tendencies of innovators to avoid communication with people other than innovators and to think much of function and spec that a product has may degrade their performance in creative idea generation.

本稿では,組織がどの程度存続すると予測されるかという意味での組織の寿命と組織構成員が持つ時間展望,とりわけ未来に対する時間展望との関係を検討する.本稿ではまず,この未来の時間展望と組織の寿命との関係について,組織の寿命の長さと組織への依存度によって未来の時間展望が異なりうることを示した上で,戦前から戦後にかけての企業の寿命の変化に応じて未来の時間展望がどのように変化してきたかを論じる.

本稿では、企業のリスクマネジメントという視点から、製品に対するクレームをどのようにして組織的プロセスの改善につなげていけるかを日本の自動車会社の事例を取り上げて検討する。結果として、クレーム処理は合理的な原因追求と改善のプロセスから政治的なプロセスに変化する「政治化」を起こしやすく、組織的な改善にはつながりにくいことを明らかにする。また、「政治化」を引き起こす要因についても論じる。

This paper explores the “longevity” of firms, particularly of big businesses in postwar Japan, and investigates some features of Japanese firms from this aspect.Organizational growth and decline process have been studied in organization theory and business history, though the quantitative aspect of this process has not been examined. I therefore studied this aspect by investigating the longevity of firms, based on studies of organizational ecology and related research. Consideration of longevity presents a new perspective from which to study the activities and organization of firms.From an analysis of the average number of years in which firms are ranked by total capital, and an event history analysis of the duration of listing in the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, I will show that big businesses in the postwar period have especially long lifetimes, and there is no “liability of newness” or “liability of aging” about them; that is, there is no relation between the duration of listing and the rate of elimination from the first section of TSE. Therefore, these big businesses can be regarded as stable entities. It seems reasonable to believe that this stability is related to the Japanese longterm employment system.I will also show that their longevity increased gradually in the postwar period, but not without fluctuation; it decreased in the first half of the 1960s. This seems to reflect the magnitude of economic change during this period, sometimes referred to as the “transformation period.”

本稿では,戦後日本における企業システムの形成・発展過程について,企業の安定性という視点から検討することを試みる.日本の企業システムの特徴が企業とステイクホルダーとの長期的関係にあるとすれば,そのようなシステムの発展・形成過程の背後には企業の存在の安定化があると考えられる.本稿ではまず企業の安定性の変化を把握した上で,労働システムと企業年金システムという二つのシステムを取り上げてこの点を検討する.

術前高ビリルビン血症を伴った42歳男性の大動脈弁狭窄兼閉鎖不全症に対し人工弁置換術とHaemonetics社製Cell Saver 4®を用いた術中血漿交換療法を施行した.人工心肺の回路残血と術野吸引血11,300mlを洗浄処理し210mgのビリルビン除去が可能であった.術中輸血量は同種赤血球濃厚が2単位,血漿交換に要した同種FFPは36単位であった.ビリルビン値は9.9mg/dlから術直後4.5mg/dlに減少,その後一過性の上昇(9.0mg/dl)を認めたが徐々に正常化し退院した.高ビリルビン血症に対する術中の血漿交換は安全かつ有用な手段と考えられた.

腹部大動脈瘤に対するY型人工血管置換術10例に対し, COBE社製洗浄式自己血回収装置BRATTM2を用いて洗浄効率を測定し,本装置の有用性について検討した。廃液および回収血を採取し, WBC・RBC・Ht・Hb・Plt・ヘパリン・Cr・BUN・T-Bil・TPについて回収率と洗浄効率をそれぞれ算出した。赤血球の回収率は良好な結果が得られたが,回収血のHtは49.7%と低値であったため,回収血にヘパリンの残在が確認された。しかし,ヘパリンの洗浄効率は95.3%と高値であった。また,他の血漿成分の洗浄効率も高い値を示した。

To examine the relationships between the northward distributional expansion of the great mormon butterfly, Papilio memnon Linnaeus, and climatic warming in Japan, we analyzed a data set on temperatures near the northern range limit of the species for the past ca 60 years from the year 1940 until 1998. Within the distributional range of the species in southwestern Japan in the year 2000, a significant increase in temperature (i.e., climatic warming) occurred and a significant increase in the latitude of the northern range margins was detected during the period analyzed. That is, the latitude of northern range margins in the species increased with the increasing mean temperature of the coldest month and annual mean temperature in southwestern Japan. Thus, it is suggested that climatic warming as a major external factor may have played an important role in its northward expansion. The averages of annual mean temperatures and mean temperatures of the coldest month near the northern range margins were 15.46℃ and 4.51℃, respectively. Our analysis also suggested that there were different types of northward range expansion patterns of the species. We discuss the patterns mainly from the point of external factors.

働き方改革を具現化するため,ビジネスパーソンの生産性を向上させるアプリケーション構築に取り組んでいる.メール種別を自動分類し,その種別に応じたタスク支援機能を提供することを目指している.本研究では,実際のメールを用いて分散表現空間を構築し,一部のメールに教師ラベルを付与した.教師データを学習することで,メールのタスク種類を分類する分類器を構築した.

A rest room is required in comfortable living space. So this paper describes the improvement of sound quality of toilet flushing sound. An acrylic board model is made for taking a picture of the flushing mechanism by a high-speed video camera. It is found that the flushing sound generates broken bubble in water current, and the frequency characteristics of the sound depend on the size of the bubble. The relationship between sound pressure level of the flushing sound and sound quality is investigated by comparing with the bubble shape.

知財ファイナンスをグローバルな観点から見た場合に関係する制度としての知財担保の適切な扱いのために必要な国際私法ルールと方法論を分析した。実態調査を行うとともに、法と経済学の手法による分析を行った結果、①統一法と国際私法の関係に関する一般的な理解には問題があり、一定条件のもとでは国際私法が優位性を持つことを証明した。②また国際私法の統一及び属地性に関する横断的な考察を通じて、伝統的議論に見直すべき点が少なからずあることを示した。③そして学際的なチームにより知財担保を多角的観点から分析し、新たな提案を行った。英文で公表し反響も確認できた。またイノベーションに向けた研究へのパースペクテイブを開いた。
