Environmental magnetic noises change with time influence biomagnetic measurements. There are two types: artificial magnetic noises, and those caused by natural fields For example, the former are caused by the movement of objects composed of magnetic materials, such as cars or trains, elevators, and fan-pumps of air conditioners, on the other hand, the latter are caused by natural fields, such as volcanoes or solar wind. The magnitude of geomagnetism is about 10 -4 T, and that of movements of cars or trains, elevators, and fan-pumps of air conditioners are 10-6 ∼ 10 -10 T. By contrast, the magnitude of magnetoencephalogram or magnetocardiogram is 10-12 ∼ 10 -14 T. Although they are, very weak, environmental magnetic noises cannot be ignored we measured the temporal vertical component of geomagnetic changes with a SQUID (Superconducting Quantum Interference Device) magnetometer in the vicinity of the crater of the Mount Sakurajima volcano for about 40 days. taken, By comparing our data taken by SQUID with the data of by the magnetic observatory of the Japan Meteorological Agency, we confirmed that our data are convincing. The influence of magnetic fluctuation caused by volcanoes on biomagnetic measurement is also discussed.

During prolonged exercise or work in the heat, human thermal homeostasis is first challenged, and eventually lost, as one moves from a compensable state through to uncompensable heat stress. During the first week of such exposure, work and athletic performance is most affected, and the threat of heat illness is greatest. However, given adequate time, the body will undergo a three-phase adaptation to better tolerate the heat. In this review, the principles and practices of the six primary methods by which such heat adaptation may be achieved are evaluated. One technique involves repeated exposure to both heat and exercise, and is designed to elevate and maintain a target body temperature, by varying the intensity of the work rate during the acclimation period: the controlled-hyperthermia (isothermal) technique. It is recommended that this method provides the most dependable, and least hazardous, means of adapting workers and athletes for heat stress.

Among the central features of a major strand of cognitive linguistics (R. W. Langacker's cognitive grammar) is its symbolic view of grammar (syntax in particular): grammar can be adequately characterized as a system composed of form-meaning pairings (rather than a purely formal component organized independently of semantic factors). By way of illustrating how the symbolic view can give us insights into cross-linguistic variation, cognitive accounts are provided of two areas of grammar where English and Japanese exhibit marked contrasts. It is suggested that apparently arbitrary ways some grammatical units (e.g. grammatical relations and constructions) behave begin to make perfect semantic sense if (1) construal (as opposed to conceptual content) is held to form an essential part of an expression's semantic value, (2) proper attention is given to the ubiquity in language of categories built around experientially grounded prototypes (rather than classical categories defined by sets of necessary and sufficient conditions), and (3) a usage-based model of linguistic structure (in contrast to the traditional reductionist view of grammar as an algorithmic device) is adopted.

我々は南米インカ人骨と思われる頭蓋骨1コ, 下顎骨5コについて調査した.その結果を要約すると次のごとくである.1. 頭蓋骨の計測結果によると, 頭長幅示数では短頭型, 頭長高示数では高頭型であった.またコルマン氏上顔示数では中上顔型, 眼窩は高眼窩型, 鼻は広鼻型, 口蓋は広口蓋型であった.2. 後頭部においてはインカ骨ならびに多くの縫合骨が認められ, 骨全般の縫合状態はきわめて緩かであった.3. 頭蓋骨に残存している6本の歯はやや大きく, 咬耗も少なく, 且つ智歯はまだ萌出していない.従って, 頭蓋骨は20才前後の若年者ではないかと思われる.4. 5コの下顎骨はいずれもがっしりした構造をしており, 特に下顎枝の発達がよく, 咀嚼筋の停止部は強い粗面を呈していた.また, 下顎切痕示数値は低い数値を示し, 切痕が浅いことが認められた.5. 歯は現代人にくらべやや大きく, 特に智歯が大きく, 退化的形態はあまり認められなかった.また歯の咬耗は, No.1, 2, 3が最も強く, いずれも40才代前後の熟年者だと考えられる.No.4は咬耗が少なく, 智歯も未萌出で, 20才前のものと考えられる.No.5は30才代以上の熟年者ではないかと思われる.

The history of overseas Chinese school in Japan is longer than that of Indian school in Japan. It is very important for overseas Chinese and overseas Indians who live in Japan to receive a traditional education with ethnic cultural characteristics. This paper examines the actual situation of overseas Chinese and Indian school in Japan. Overseas Chinese and Indians are different groups and both have different cultures. What kind of change did the overseas Chinese and Indian schools take place? This comparative study deals with the issues such as what kind of characteristic are there in the overseas Chinese and Indian schools in Japan, and how is the performance regarding the entrance into a universities? Lastly, based on the above mentioned analysis, I will sum up the common and different points between the overseas Chinese and Indian.
