離散フーリエ変換においては時間領域と周波数領域間での順逆変換対の演算の間にはDFT,IDFTによる1対1に対応した関係が理論的に確立されている。本論文では数値ラプラス変換法についてもこれを順逆変換対としてとらえ、その解析方法やいくつかの問題点についての再考を行う。

This paper describes a photograph retrieval interface that uses time information and location information. In this paper, we define "Retrieval" as "Overview", "Finding" and "Picking". For "Overview" and "Finding" from a large number of photographs, we propose mapping photographs to a 3D-space with time axis, latitude axis and longitude axis. In addition, for "Finding" and "Picking", we propose a navigation system using a potential field.

The Laplace transformation is known as one of the most powerful mathematical techniques for solving wide range of problems in engineering. For its application to practical problems, many authors have extensively studied methods of numerical inversion. On the other hand, the method of numerical transformation has not been studied very much. For this reason, most of the applications were limited to theoretical or numerical analysis and there were few applications to experimental analysis. To overcome this problem, both of the numerical transformation and inversion are studied in this paper. Numerical accuracy is evaluated and discussed using two test functions, sinusoidal and step function. A chart is presented for determining the parameters of computation under a specified accuracy.

1897年Dieulafoyは,胃上部の微小な孤立性粘膜欠損の底部において動脈が破裂する大量出血を経験し,Exulceratio simplex(以後Esとよぶ)と命名し報告した.以来欧州圏では,このような胃上部にみられる動脈性出血をEsと呼ぶようになったが,英語圏においてはEsについての報告はほとんどみられず,本邦においてもこのような症例がみられても出血性胃炎あるいは胃潰瘍出血としてとりあつかわれていると思われる.しかしこの病態は手術による止血以外に救命しえなく,保存的療法で止血しうる可能性のある上記2疾患とは臨床上はっきり区別してとりあつかい,適切な処置がなされる必要があると考えられる.著者らはEsと考えられる3例を経験したので報告し,その臨床的意義ならびに問題点について考察を加えた.

変換周波数数百kHzで動作するフォワードコンバータ用トラシスを対象にコア外形寸法、特に横幅と高さが制限された場合にトラシスの電力損失が最小となるコアの形状、寸法を検討している。今回、ポットコアについて最小損失を与える寸法を算出したので報告する。

In the latter half of the 1990s, an emerging business opportunity in the American education industry attracted the interest of venture businesses. They now forge management contracts with public schools and school districts, providing them with learning programs, and thus helping them reconstruct themselves and revitalize their educational services. Since the 1983 publication of A Nation at Risk by the National Commission on Excellence in Education, many American parents and taxpayers have been dissatisfied with the prevailing state of public education. ln the meantime, state educational reforms have allowed school districts to loosen their control over schools. Such decentralization policies have allowed site-based management, and seen the birth of charter schools. Now accountability systems complying with the federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB) regulations have been implemented in many states. Reconstitution and takeover of schools by local authorities have become reality. Seizing this opportunity, private education management organizations have embarked on the business of managing imperiled schools. Thus, contract schools were born. The traditional American public education system is now being challenged by privatization. The meaning of public education and even the value of its existence have been called into question. This paper reviews this trend toward privatization and possible future developments.

教育において、思想信条の自由はどのように理解されるべきか。教育は、思想信条の自由を尊重する人間を育成することをめざす。この目的によって、そしてこの目的のために必要とされるかぎりにおいて、教育において思想信条の自由は制限される。社会において現に対立しつつも平和的に共存している諸思想信条について、教育が特定の立場に立つことは許されない。しかし、各教師は特定の立場に立つほかない。教育における思想信条の自由は、公平な教育をめざす各教師の努力と教育界における思想信条の多様性とによって維持される。

日本化学会の学術情報発信の近況を紹介するとともに,電子ジャーナルにおける取り組みを解説する。特に2002年よりJ-STAGEを本格的に利用することで広く読者に情報を提供することができ,他雑誌,2次データベースとのリンクを含む電子ジャーナルの標準的なサービスを実現しつつ,健全な事業形態を構築することもできた。また,日本のジャーナルにおける電子ジャーナル課金の難しさについても考察する。

Michita Nakamura was one of those who played major parts in the economic development of Japan in the early years of Meiji. When he was in Tokyo, he met Yukichi Pukuzawa in the second year of Keio (1866), and since then very confidential contact had been kept betwean them. Though he had not been a regular student at the Fukuzawa School, he became a sincere admirer and follower of Fukuzawa, a theoretical pioneer of Japan's capitalism. When the Western enlightened system of book-keeping was introduced into Japan through the translation work of Fukuzawa titled " Choai no ho", (Booking in Balancing Form), he made an effort with great skillfullness to propagate the method in business circle. He was recommended as the president of Maruya & Co. (now Maruzen Co.), an importer of all sort of Western goods, and contributed to the civilization of new Japan. Nakamura's great achievement in his career was the design and establishment of the Yokohama Specie Bank in 1880, intended as an important one of policies on gold reserves of Shigenobu Okuma, Councillor of State of the time, by the recommendation of Fukuzawa. Nakamura took up the post of the first president of the Bank. It should not be overlooked that he was also one of the founders of the Meiji Insurance Company in 1881. After Okuma resigned his post in October 1881, Nakamura was forced to throw up his duty as the Bank president in the next year. While he was the president of the Tokyo Rice Exchange, he was charged with breach of trust, and had to retire from business life. Though he sank into obscurity in later years, his meritorious works in the earlier days should be noticed. A few years ago, I could find three letters of Fukuzawa at Nakamura's near relatives in Nagoya, which had been unknown among biographers and researchers on Fukuzawa. The present research intends to throw foot-lights on the relations between Pukuzawa and Nakamura, as well. as the latter's life and works which have hitharto been buried into oblivion.

分散メモリ型並列データベースシステムは, スケーラビリティに優れており, 近年の大規模化しつつあるデータベース処理に非常に適しているといえる。しかしながら, ノード数が増えると, ノード間の負荷に偏りが生じ易くなる。この問題を解決するために, 我々は, ライトディープハッシュ多重結合演算の結合演算フェーズにプロセッサ間でハッシュラインの移動を行い負荷の均等化を行う動的負荷分散アルゴリズムを提案し, PC 100台をATMスイッチで結合したPCクラスタシステムを用い, 30ノード規模での実験と検討を行って来た。今回, 我々は処理ノード数の増大に対し問題となる主記憶の制限を緩和すべく, ハッシュテーブル及びマイグレーションテーブルを動的に再構築する機構を導入した。本稿では, 実験結果から本動的負荷分散手法の100ノード規模の環境における有効性を示す。
