湧水湿地が消滅した後も,湿地植物が土壌中にシードバンクを保持することを実生発芽法によって確認した.愛知県知多半島において,およそ 30-10 年前まで湧水湿地が存在し,湿性草原が成立していた場所 3 カ所と,湿性草原が現在も成立している湧水湿地 1 カ所の土壌を採取してまき出したところ,そのすべてから湿地植物が発芽した.湧水湿地の存在していた場所の土壌からは,トウカイコモウセンゴケ・イヌノハナヒゲ類・ミミカキグサ類・アリノトウグサが多数発芽したが,シラタマホシクサやヌマガヤのような主要な群落構成種を含む,過去に記録のある種の多くは発芽しなかった.現存する湧水湿地の土壌からも,地上部にみられた種の一部のみしか発芽しなかった.より詳細な調査が必要であるものの,湧水湿地に成立する湿性草原(鉱質土壌湿原)の構成種の一部は,地上植生の消滅後も長期間にわたり土壌シードバンクを形成するが,すべての種がそうではない可能性がある.

本研究では1960年代から1970年代の子ども文床運動を分析する。子ども文庫活動は子どもの読書環境の向上を願う母親の要求を出発点とし,そこから派生した公共図書館設置にかかわる住民運動として1つのムーブメントとなった。文庫活動は日本独自のユニークな文化運動として発展を続け,全国に3,000以上ある文庫はわが国の児童図書サービスの重要な拠点となっている。本研究では初期子ども文庫活動に3つの時代区分を与えた上で,文庫と公共図書館の関係を整理する。そして先行研究が図書館サービスの存在に拠って文庫をとらえてきたこと,さらにそれが文庫研究の範囲を限定してきたことを指摘する。さらにコミユニテイの読書環境を視野に入れた研究を進めていくために必要な要素を先行研究から抽出した。(1)既存の読書運動との連続/断絶, (2)石井桃子『子どもの図書館』の影響, (3)文庫を担う母親のとらえかたの3論点が,今後の文庫研究における議論の手ががりとして引き出された。

This review summarizes recent findings regarding the status of physical activity and introduces effective methods of intervention. Data from our serial cross-sectional study between 2003 and 2012 suggested that the decline in step counts over the last decade is mainly related to a reduction in non-exercise activity associated with the increased use of cell phones or computers and with playing video games. We then examined the effects of lifestyle interventions using an activity monitor with computerized game functions or an activity monitor and Twitter on physical activity and body composition. These findings suggested that lifestyle interventions using both of these strategies increases daily physical activity and reduces body fat more effectively than using an activity monitor alone. In addition, changes in physical activity and in body fat were significantly correlated. We also applied a randomized intervention to examine an effective method of increasing physical activity levels among college physical education students using a pedometer. We found that using a pedometer and inducing friendly competition or encouragement from peers increased step counts more effectively during soccer classes. These findings therefore have important implications for ensuring compliance with the Physical Activity Reference for Health Promotion 2013 and Active Guide.

本稿は,フィリピン系ニューカマーが集うエスニック教会を対象に,その教育的役割を参加者に対するインタビューと参与観察から明らかにするものである。具体的には,教会の日曜学校とユースグループを教育的役割を担うものとして捉え,これら二つの育ちの場が参加者たちにとってどのような役割を果たすものなのかを親世代,子世代の世代間の差異に注目しながら描き出していく。 考察の結果,得られた知見は以下の通りである。第一に,日曜学校は親の子どもに対する教育期待を手助けする場,ユースグループは子どもや若者にルーツの確認や承認を与える場としての役割を担っていた。第二に,日曜学校は親の論理で成り立ち,ユースグループは若者や子どもの論理で成り立っているが,そこには親の期待の継承と断絶があった。親が子どもに期待する英語学習はユースグループでは継承されず,むしろ親が重視しないタガログ語が継承されていたが,教会内における友人関係の構築は親世代,子世代の両方で重視されるものであった。第三に,日曜学校にせよユースグループにせよ,これら二つの場は子どもたちがフィリピン系ニューカマーとして日本社会にうまく適応していくための役割を果たそうとするものであった。以上エスニック教会の教育的役割を見ていくことで,自ら資源を作り出すニューカマーの主体的営みを明らかにすることが可能となった。

Coix-seed Reactive Derivatives (CRD)の摂取がアレルギー性疾患に有効かもしれないという証拠が集積されつつある.そこで今回,CRDのTh1/Th2バランスに対する影響について検討した.健常な成人8名にCRD 6g/日を4週間摂取させ,摂取前後の血中Th1/Th2の値を比較した.結果は,Th2とTh0が有意に減少し,有意ではなかったものの相対的にTh1/Th2は上昇した.今後はさらに例数を増やしてCRDの免疫調節作用について検討したい.

Recently, especially since 2000, social welfare has in nature become a substitution for social policy. This has clearly become stronger in comparison with the previous period. To keep this tendency in check, it is important that social welfare movements collaborate with labor movements. Although the latter movement was explained to a certain extent in KIMURA (2011), discussion to establish this larger claim in this book is insufficient. The tasks of this paper are, first, to prove that social welfare systems have increasingly substituted for social insurance systems (labor insurance system) from 2000 onward; second, to clarify the social significance of this substitution; and third, to propose a solution for reducing the use of social welfare as a substitution.

東日本大震災以降,津波で被災した写真を持ち主に返す被災写真返却活動が生まれ,それに関する研究が行われるようになった。しかし,それらの先行研究において被災者に焦点を当てた研究は,依然として存在しない。また,写真は,災害以前の何気ない日常を写したものであるが,復興研究において災害以前の語りや想起に着目した研究は少ない。そこで本研究は,被災写真返却活動の現場において,震災以前に撮影された被災写真や,それを返すという取り組みが被災者にいかに作用するのかについて明らかにすることを目的とする。本研究は,東日本大震災の被災地の1つである岩手県九戸郡野田村で開催されている「写真返却お茶会」への1年以上に及ぶフィールドワークに基づいて行われた。そして,フィールドワークの内容を4編のエスノグラフィにまとめた。その結果,被災者が復興の過程において,津波による物理的な喪失という第1の喪失だけでなく,その第1の喪失すら失われていくという第2の喪失を経験していることが確認された。さらに,第2の喪失に対して写真返却活動がいかに抗しているかについて,「集合的記憶」と「非意図的想起」を用いて考察した。

As is often mentioned in his biographical studies, William James was greatly attracted to spiritual phenomena and continued psychical research to his last days. He conducted experiments with a trance medium, Mrs. Piper, whose mediumship was so strong that he was convinced of the genuineness of the phenomena. Although he arrived at no conclusive view on the spiritual matter, his thinking was greatly affected by psychical research. In this paper its effects are discussed in some respects. First James saw in psychical research a solution to the contemporary problem of how to settle the struggle between science and religion. He criticized mechanical rationalism and contrived a framework of the new science which would defend the value of personal experience. Secondly, influenced by his fellow psychical researcher F. W. H. Myers, James employed the subliminal-self theory, which says that everyone has a wider self under the realm of consciousness. This theory assured him of the possibility of telepathy, but at the same time it brought some contradiction to his own “stream of thought” theory that denies substantial beings in the mind, such as the soul. Moreover, as a result of his last experiments, James came near to believing in the existence of the soul. But unlike Myers he remained doubtful to the last because of his thirst for truth.
