地球磁気圏尾部では、地球半径の20-30倍程度の位置で起きる磁気リコネクションによって磁場エネルギーがプラズマのエネルギーに変換している。この磁気リコネクションが、地球半径40倍の幅をもつ磁気圏尾部で、どのような規模で起きているかを、人工衛星Geotailによる20年以上の観測をもとに確立した。磁気リコネクションのX-line は、イオン慣性長より狭い領域に形成され、その周辺には、ion-electron decoupling regionが10倍のイオン慣性長領域(一般に1 地球半径以下)に形成され、朝夕方向に6倍の地球半径以上の長さを持つという3次元規模とその内部構造を明らかにした。

This paper traces some of the linkages between incendiarism and imposition via the example of Kyoto in the latter half of the sixteenth century. When Nobunaga moved into Kyoto in 1568, he began to ensure the feudal landowners their landholding. But he destroyod some area of Kyoto on fire in 1573. This incendiarism changed Kamigyo into the land with no productivity. Then he exempted them from the taxation and permitted town dwellers to rebuild their houses after the fire. The paper concludes that the incendiarism and the exemption made Kamigyo into the area without feudal landholding except by Nobunaga.

ハワイ大学設置のSIMSを用いて、グラファイトの局所炭素同位体比分析の分析手法を確立した。この手法を用いて、高圧変成岩、接触変成岩、ヒスイ輝岩、グラファイトを含むかんらん岩捕獲岩の分析を行った。高圧変成岩類、接触変成岩類は、炭質物中の不純物の影響により良いデータが得られなかった。ヒスイ輝岩のデータから、ヒスイが形成される沈み込み帯初期には、マントル値と同程度の炭素同位体比を含む流体が関与していることが明らかになった。かんらん岩捕獲岩中のグラファイトからは、生物起源を示唆する軽い同位体比が得られた。マントル中でのダイヤモンドが形成との関連を示唆する。

Katoh-jingu is one of important shrines in the history of Japanese architecture. It had been being worshiped by the Fujiwaras throughout the Heian era and the Kamakura era, and had been a very influential shrine. I showed in my monograph that the main shrine in the Kamakura might have had a plan similar to 'Shimen-bisashi' which was articulated into the core and the surrounding envelope. I guess that the rear envelope was used keeping ritual goods and that the frontal envelope was the place where the Shinto priests performed rites.

3年間の研究を通して、英語表現、特に、動詞・形容詞・前置詞を中心とした表現と文法項目に見られるコア・イメージ図を作成し、そのイメージを定着させるための教材を開発した。初年度は、イメージ作りのための調査、特に、大規模コーパスデータを用いた調査を行った。2年度以降は、実際に大学の授業で用い、検証を行った。また、学生からのフィードバックをもとに修正を行った。3年間の研究で目標とする内容に到達したものと考えられる。成果については、国際学会(2013年・2014年)において採択されている。今後は、高校、あるいは中学校の英語教育、英語教員のブラッシュアップ教材として利用できるように公開する予定である。

In the principle model of pulse oximetry, the measured absorbance change occurs by a thickness change of the arterial blood. However, we cannot explain the absorbance change of the tissue only by thickness change of the arterial blood when we consider these three phenomena of circulatory dynamics:1) arterial blood flows into the tissue as pulsatile flow, 2) Oxygen saturation decreases by oxygen consumption in the tissue, and 3) venous blood flows out from the tissue. In this study, we made a new electrical model of pulse oximetry and examined the mechanism of the absorbance change when the height of the hand is changed. We measured absorbance ratio and SpO2 at three vertical hand positions, 1) on the table (middle), 2) rise over the head (up), 3) lowered (down), with six healthy volunteers. The absorbance ratios increased in the lowered hand position and there was an error to underestimate SpO2. The mean ± SD of SpO2 in the 6 subject at the middle, up, and down positions were 98.0 ± 1.28, 98.4 ± 0.84, 96.3 ± 1.69(%), respectively. We simulated pulse oximetry using our new electrical model, and we were able to express a mechanism to increase the absorbance ratio at the lowered hand position.
