Methyl linoleate (ML), linoleic acid (LA), and ethyl eicosapentaenoate (EE) were entrapped in saccharide and protein matrixes, and then stored at 37℃ in a desiccator controlled at 75% relative humidity. ML entrapped with α-cyclodextrin, maltodextrin, and pullulan was extremely resistant to autoxidation, but LA entrapped with maltodextrin and pullulan rapidly oxidized. LA entrapped with α-cyclodextrin was the most stable against oxidation. ML entrapped with gelatin or gum arabic was less resistant to autoxidation than that that entrapped with pullulan. there was little difference in the susceptibility to oxidation between ML and LA entrapped with gelatin or gum arabic. Egg albumin protected ML more effectively against oxidation than LA, while sodium caseinate protected LA more in ML. Ethyl eicosapentaenoate entrapped with pullulan was highly resistant to oxidation, 90% of the total lipid remaining after 35 days. The effect on the oxidation of diffusion of oxygen through the matrix was estimated. It is suggested that the retardation of oxidation of the entrapped lipid can not be explained only by the effect of diffusion.

Pharyngeal orifice of the eustachian tube was ligated in 6 patients, 8 ears withintractable patulous eustachian tube. While the eustachian tube orifice was observed by an endoscope inserted through the contralateral nostril, the orifice was ligated transnasally and/or transorally using instruments usually used in the endoscopic nasal surgery. Now 1 to 6 months after the surgery, the outcome was excellent (both symptoms and sonotubometry were normalized) in 3 ears, good (either symptoms or sonotubometry was improved) in 3 ears, and unchanged in the remaining 2 ears. In one of the ears with an outcome of unchanged, the ligation was found to be spontaneously released soon after surgery, but the symptom was improved after the second operation 2.5months after the first operation. Temporary otitis media with effusion was seen in one ear, and mild inflammation around the ligated site also in one ear, but no other serious complication has been observed. Although further improvement in the surgical procedure and further discussion about its longterm outcome should be required, this procedure appeared to be one of the therapeutic options for intractable patulous eustachian tube.

合板張り耐力壁の施工は簡単そうだが注意しなければならない。例えば、くぎ打ちだ。くぎ打ち機を使っていると、くぎが合板内に深くめり込んでしまうことがある。そうなったとき、耐力壁はどの程度、性能が低下するのか。めり込んだくぎの影響の度合いを、実験結果とあわせて田原氏に解説してもらった。

シベリア産カラマツによる強化LVLの製造方法を検討するとともに、木質構造での利用展開を図るため、強化LVLの寸法安定性、強度性能(特に曲げ、釘に対するめりこみ)について検討した。結果は以下のとおりである。1)ロータリー単板への含浸用フェノール樹脂水溶液の注入について検討したところ、浸せき処理では短時間で十分な浸透率は得られないが、減圧加圧処理では木材組織内への樹脂液の浸透率が高まり、効果的な樹脂含浸方法であると考えられた。2)フェノール樹脂含浸された強化LVL(圧縮率約30%)の寸法安定性は良好であり、通常のLVLと同程度であった。3)強化LVLの曲げ強度性能は密度に比例して増加し、単板の継ぎ目がない場合、密度1.2g/cm3のレベルでは、曲げヤング係数22.0kN/mm2、曲げ強さ142.5N/mm2に達した。また、直交層が存在する場合の強度低減についても高い精度で推定することができた。4)強化LVLの釘に対するめりこみ性能は、密度に比例して増加した。また直交層の挿入により最大面圧応力が大きくなるとともに均一性も向上した。

Asymmetric hydrogenation of -(acylamino)acrylic acid derivatives was first established by Kagan in 1971. A cationic (R,R)-DIOP-Rh complex smoothly hydrogenates an enamide substrate to give (S)- and (R)-phenylalanine derivatives in 7:93 ratio. This finding paved the way to asymmetric hydrogenation world as well as the synthesis of optically active natural and unnatural amino acids. A perfect enantioselection in the Kagan reaction was achieved by use of BINAP ligand (BINAP=2,2'-bis(diphenylphosphino)-1,1'-binaphthyl) in 1980 although the Rh complex suffered from the high substrate specificity. A breakthrough has been made by the discovery of BINAP-Ru complexes, which serve as excellent catalyst precursors for highly enantioselective hydrogenation of a variety of functionalized prochiral olefins and ketones including enamides, ,-and ,-unsaturated carboxylic acids, allylic and homoallylic alcohols. keto esters, hydroxy ketones, and amino ketones. Interestingly, the sense of asymmetric induction in the (S)-BINAP-Ru(II)-catalyzed Kagan reaction is opposite to that observed with (S)-BINAP-Rh(I) catalysts. In this paper, we would like to focus on the mechanism of the BINAP-Rh- and -Ru-catalyzed Kagan reaction that is the origin of highly enantioselective hydrogenation. Combination of isotope labeling experiments and kinetics has revealed that the reaction proceeds via a monohydride-unsaturate mechanism involving the initial RuH formation followed by a reaction with an olefinic substrate. The major S and minor R enantiomers are produced via the same mechanism. The detail rate law analysis made it possible to determine the energy diagram of the catalytic species, which has also been experimentally substantiated by the ^<12>C/^<13>C and ^1H/^2H isotope effect measurements. The Ru monohydride species B is first generated from the diacetate A and H_2, and then forms a short-lived enamide complex C which delivers the hydride to the C(3) position. The addition of the RuH species to the olefinic bond is endergonic and reversible. The overall rate is limited by the Ru-C hydrogenolysis step of the resulting Ru-alkyl species D. The enantioselection is made during this irreversible step but actually is controlled by the relative free energies of the diastereomeric RuH/olefin complexes. Structural information was obtained by NMR studies as well as X-ray crystallographic analysis. Crystalline mono-methanol coordinated diacetate complex and the derivative of the Ru monohydride species were isolated and characterized by X-ray study. The molecular structures are consistent with those in solution estimated from NMR experiments. The reaction monitoring by NMR using ^<13>C-labeled substrates revealed that the observed Ru-enamide complex is nonproductive and that the mode of enamide coordination corresponds with that in the reactive RhH_2 intermediate in the related Rh-catalyzed hydrogenation which occurs via a unsaturate-dihydride mechanism. All of the observation strongly support the enantioface selection based on the stereo-complementary models of the enamide/metal chelate complexes.

研究活動報告(Research and Activity Report)本稿は、2009年12月25日~28日にかけて、日本広報学会「スポーツ広報とソーシャル・キャピタル研究会」の会員5名 が中国上海市を訪問して、ソーシャル・キャピタル(社会関係資本)形成に果たすスポーツの事例を調査した報告である。今回の訪問では、在留邦人を含む多くの外国人が駐在し、複雑な多民族・多国籍文化を形成している国際都市上海を事例に、スポーツを活用したソーシャル・キャピタルの構築について、美津濃(中国)体育用品有限公司・上海石橋水産品有限公司 の各企業を中心とした支援体制のもと調査を行った。スポーツの「強化」と「普及」の両面を調べるため、国家のスポーツエリート養成施設「東方緑舟体育訓練基地」と日本人駐在員を中心としたボランティアによる「龍心館柔道場」を訪問先として選定した。
