ウイルスが宿主の細胞に寄生し自身を再生産する際、宿主細胞の様々な因子(宿主因子)を利用することが知られている。複数のウイルスに共通する宿主因子を発見すれば、その宿主因子をターゲットとすることで、様々なウイルスに効果のある広域の抗ウイルス薬の開発につながると考えられる。本研究ではウイルス同士が共通の宿主因子を奪い合うことで「干渉」しあうメカニズムの解明を通して、複数種のウイルスに共通する宿主因子を発見し、広域抗ウイルス薬の開発につなげていくことを目的としている。

The area of radiation exposure by the nuclear accident occurred at Tokai village in 1999 was estimated by the ESR measurement of 95 household sugar samples collected from the accident area. These samples were roughly classified into three types of sugar, fine white sugar, fine brown sugar and coarse brown sugar. The control fine white sugar showed no radical in the ESR spectrum, while those of fine brown sugar and coarse brown sugar showed the presence of a small amount of radicals. It was also shown that, among these three kinds of sugar, the radical concentration of fine white sugar sampled from wooden houses at the area similar to each other did not vary much with the samples, while those of fine brown sugar and coarse brown sugar varied to a considerable extent. Thus, the fine white sugar is considered to be more suitable for the estimation of the level of radiation exposure. The radical concentration of each fine white sugar sample was plotted against the distance from the site of the nuclear accident with a correction of the difference in the shielding effect between concrete houses and wooden houses. The samples obtained at more than 2 km north of the site of nuclear accident showed no ESR spectral signal to a detectable extent. On the other hand, the ESR spectra were observed from the samples obtained within 10 km south and 4 km west of the accident site. These results suggest that the radiation exposure by the contaminant blown by the northeast wind blowing on the day of the accident may occur at the south and west areas.

The present study describes the association between inflammatory cell types and feline infectious peritonitis virus (FIPV) antigen in the brain of 4 cats diagnosed as feline infectious peritonitis (FIP). Immunohistochemically, FIPV antigens were detected in the inflammatory foci of the leptomeninges, choroid plexus and ventricles in 3 of the 4 cats. In 3 cases, inflammatory foci mainly consisted of CD204- and Iba1-positive macrophages, and the FIPV antigens were found in the macrophages. In the other case which was negative for FIPV antigen, severe inflammation predominantly consisting of CD20-positive B lymphocytes was observed in the leptomeninges and subventricles, accompanied with diffuse proliferation of gemistocytic astrocytes. The difference in histopathology may reflect the inflammatory process or the strain variation of FIP virus.

1) Almost all the so-called modern interpretations of Plato's idea tell us that the idea is nothing other than a general concept It is true that Plato endeavours to find out the general concept for the benefit of science against subjective opinion (δοξα), but it does not imply that his sight does not reach the transcendent, which is the real object for philosophy Through philological analysis and philosophical reconstruction of Plato's original texts, the author concludes, in opposition to the currently accepted interpretation, that Plato makes an effort to discriminate ειδοζ as the universal, and ιδεα as the transcendent, the transcendent being often modified by the phrase αυτο το Such an inclination in the use of words is clearly perceptible both in Plato's dialogues after Phaedo and in the various texts of his successors, Aristotle, Theophrastus and later Neo-Platomsts 2) The necessary condition of true judgement is that the predicate is not subjective but objective, not individual but general Such generality depends on the nature of the thing which is intentionally designated by the subject-term in question, namely, the immanent form of the thing, that is to say ειδοζ which itself consists in genus-species-relation, and which, therefore, is determined in definition So the ειδοζ is no doubt μαλιστα οργανον for the science in general whose construction is a system of definition 3) But there is something which may not be comprehended by definition For Socrates can never succeed in dialogues in finding out the perfect definition for the real value such as beauty, or virtue such as justice (Meno 100 b 7 etc) We realize here that there is something which is super-ειδοζ, trans-ειδοζ, "au dela de" ειδοζ, επεκεινα τηζ ουσιζ, that is to say ιδεα 4) Through strictly philosophical reflexion, which may not be summarized here, the author enumerates the following kinds of ιδεα a) The ground or criterion of thought and judgement, such as το ισον (equality), το μεγα και μικρον (great and small) (Phaedo 75 c 1-2, etc) b) Ideal form of natural beings, referred to in Timaeus (Tim 39 e 7-9, etc) c) The highest prime cause of cosmological dynamics (Phileb 27 b 9-cl, etc) d) The real value such as Beauty, Good, One, Justice etc e) Some artefacta (artificial things) which have essential relation to βιοζ θεωρητικοζ or βιοζ θειοζ (Arist Met 1070 a 18-19, Resp 596 b 3-4, Soph 265 e 3-4, Phaedo 62 b 7, etc ) But all such kinds of idea are condenced in, or included by, that mentioned in c) above, namely, the real transcendent that in nature is God 5) The idea of the Good ιδεα του αγαθου as αρχη will, according to Plato's own text, be apprehended only after the dialectical speculation through ειδοζ (Resp 510) This transcendentality of idea is confirmed by the analysis of Plato's VIIth letter (VII Epist 342 a 8-e 2)

This paper describes the outline of ‘Living Architecture Museum Project’ by Osaka City. This project is aimed at generating and informing the urban attraction by regeneration and use of architecture in the city. It consists of 3 projects starting from 2013 for 3 years. (1) Selection: Osaka City selects 50 buildings as ‘Osaka Selection’ according to the own concept ‘Living Architecture’. (2) Regeneration: It subsidizes the restoration of the selection. (3) Promotion of Use: The Open House event which has been held in Europe is held in Osaka, and 55 buildings were opened and 77 programs were given in 2014.

It is well known that the English word “philosophy” was translated into Japanese astetsugakuby Amane Nishi.The writer makes clear the circumstances under which Nishi coined the termtetsugaku.However, before Nishi coined it, the wordrigakuwas the term most com-monly used to mean “philosophy.” In 1791-92, in a translation of a Dutch book on astronomy, YoshinagaMotoki translated “philosophy” into various terms, such as 儒教・智学・窮理学・性理学・性理術. This was the first recorded translation of “philosophy” into these terms. And after twenty years, in a few Dutch-Japanese or English-Japanese dictionaries compiled around 1810, we can find the wordrigaku (理学).A case can be made that Yoshinaga Motoki and Dutch interpreters played an important role in the translation of the word “philosophy” into Japanese. But why didtetsugahucome to replacerigakuas the commonly accepted translation whenrigakuhad been used for so many years.After presenting a report at the regular monthly meeting in April, 1993, the writer tried to throw new light on this question, as well as on the issues of why opinions are divided on the books in which the termtetsugakuappeared, and why “philosophy” was not translated into its exact Japanese equivalentaichigaku (愛智学).

Properties of N-acyl-N-methyltaurate(AMT), including surface active properties, cutaneous effects, influence on hair, and application to liquid type hair shampoo, are reviewed.It has been found that AMT exhibit considerably high safety on skin in comparison with typical surfactants. As the result of cutaneous effects, the reduction of the amounts of dandruff was observed when using AMT shampoo.In addition, AMT shows weaker action on the desintegration of hair cuticle.Consequently, AMT can be a good surfactant as a detergent for the hair and scalp(skin).On the other hand, cutaneous effects and physico-chemical properties of anionic/amphoteric surfactants mixed system, were investigated.It has been found that these physico-chemical results were in good correlation with those pbtained by cutaneous effects. The synergistic reductions in cutaneous effects were observed as well as physico-chemical results.These findings have promoted the development of hair shampoo composed of AMT.

In this study, the impacts of Typhoon Morakot (2009)'s vortex structure on the extreme rainfall in Taiwan are investigated through an application of piecewise potential vorticity (PV) inversion. The control (CTL) experiment, starting at 0000 UTC 7 August or 15 h before landfall, reproduces the event realistically and is validated against the observations. By altering the PV perturbation inside 750 km from its center, we conduct sensitivity experiments in which the size and/or circulation strength of Morakot is reduced/weakened in the initial field in several different ways.  In the sensitivity tests, particularly those where the initial PV within the inner core (≤ 250 km) is significantly weakened, the storm makes landfall earlier, stays over land longer, and exits Taiwan later. Such track changes are accompanied by a contraction and spin-up of the inner core at early stages of the integration, caused by convection/latent heating within the inner core under large-scale low-level southwesterly flow. As a result, Taiwan receives an overall rainfall amount either comparable to, or even more than (up to +12 %), CTL in all tests. Thus, a weaker Morakot does not necessarily lead to less total rainfall over Taiwan, and the strong southwesterly flow and its moisture supply were bigger factors than the vortex structure in this event.   On the other hand, the rainfall in the southern Central Mountain Range on 8 August, which were the most-rainy area and period in reality, tended to decrease by up to 40 % with the contraction and a weaker outer circulation. Thus, the rainfall patterns and evolution in the sensitivity tests are considerably different than those in CTL, indicating that the vortex structure plays an important role in the rainfall of this region.

To assess myocardial fibrosis associated with muscular dystrophy, T1-mapping and extracellular volume fraction (ECV) quantification was prospectively performed using cardiovascular MR (CMR) imaging in 6 male patients with muscular dystrophy and 5 female putative carriers of Duchenne or Becker muscular dystrophy. Five patients and all putative carriers had an elevated ECV (>29.5% for men and >35.2% for women), suggesting that ECV has a potential to detect diffuse fibrotic changes in patients and putative carriers of muscular dystrophy.

La teoria ficiniana dell'ars non e una 'teoria delle Belle Arti'. Ars e, come la parola greca techne, il sapere produttivo in senso esteso che include anche il lavoro artistico. In questa ricerca della teoria ficiniana dell'ars ci limiteremo alla sua opera maggiore, Theologia Platonica(TP). TP tratta di 5 gradi di essenze : Dio, angeli, anima(uomo), qualita, quantita. L'uomo, occupando il grado centrale, gioca un ruolo importantissimo quale centro universale che ricollega tutto. Ed a proprio questa positione privilegiata dell' uomo in TP ad inflluire decisivamente la teoria ficiniana. Possiamo trovare la teoria degna d'attenzione dell'ars, appunto derivante dal privilegio dell' uomo, in TP XIII, 3 In questo capitolo e da notare la lode appassionata all'uomo come possessore dell'ays. L'uomo e il dio terreno, che esercita liberamente la propria ars, arrivando a sottomettere tutto a se stesso. La conseguenza di tutto questo e che il mondo diventa piu bello. La lode ficiniana e piu audace di quelle tradizionali rivolte all'ars. E visibile l'influenza sopra tutto dell'Ermetismo e di Giannozzo Manetti. Il secondo aspetto degno d'attenzione consiste nello stretto reciproco legame tra 'sapere' e 'fare':solo chi possiede la stessa ars-chi cioe puo produrre la stessa opera-puo comprendere quest'ultima. Viceversa, capire qualcosa significa poterlofare. Questo pensiero viene interpretato, e la sua originalita valutata, nel contesto della lunga tradizione del pensiero occidentale riguardo il rapprto tra 'sapere' e 'fare'. TPXIII, 3 e una clavis magna per la valutazione dell' originalita della teoria ficiniana dell'ars.
