2020年初めより新型コロナウイルス感染症(COVID-19)が世界中で蔓延し、現在、抗ウイルス薬や重症化を抑える治療薬の開発が急務である。タウリンクロラミンは免疫細胞により産生されるタウリン誘導体であるが、広域な抗菌、抗ウイルス作用があり、COVID-19の原因ウイルスであるSARS-CoV-2に対する殺傷作用も期待されている。また、タウリンクロラミンは免疫細胞の炎症性サイトカインの産生を抑制する作用があり、COVID-19の重症化を抑える効果が期待できる。

The 2003 Tokachi-oki Earthquake induced natural gas to gush out at several points in the Izumisato area of Chitose city, central Hokkaido, on September 26th. Four gas samples were taken on October 2nd and conspicuous gas seeping continued for a maximum of a month. Chemical and isotopic compositions of the gas revealed that methane was produced by CO2-reductive/hydrogenophiric methanogen and there were two different origins.Three samples had a N2-rich, CO2-depleted composition, and its methane was relatively depleted in 13C. Enrichment in N2 implies a non-marine source, but the thickness of the late Pleistocene Higashichitose formation around Izumisato is only about 20m, which is inadequate for explaining the discharged gas volume. Therefore the gas might be generated in the Higashichitose formation beneath the Ishikari lowland, and migrated upward through the strata and along the underlying uncorformity. Some gas was emitted through Izumisato fault, but the rest of the gas accumulated at a shallow depth in the eastern area from the fault, and was quickly discharged by the earthquake. Dissolution of CO2 in the formation water through these processes resulted in a low CO2 content in the gas.The other sample had a completely different compositions than the three samples. The gas was supposed to be generated in the marine Neogene Oiwake formation and migrated through or near the fault. This seepage seemed to be continuous and not related with the earthquake.

本研究では研究室配属問題に関して,学生の成績に依存する指数関数型の重み関数を用いた,新しい研究室配属方法を提案する.この方法は,成績上位の学生には成績を優先させて配属しつつ,成績下位の学生には配属希望を最適化した配属を行って,2つの配属方法を切り替える方法である.数値シミュレーション計算により,提案した研究室配属方法が重み関数のパラメータを変化させるだけで,配属方法を任意の成績順位で切り替えられることを示した.この研究室配属方法はe-learningなどの情報処理技術を用いた教育支援システムとの親和性が高く,今後の実用化が期待される.

This paper presents a new guidance law for a missile with varying velocity against a maneuvering target with a constant acceleration. Since an approximate missile velocity change during boost phase or after thrust cutoff can be calculated, the intercept point can be estimated if the target acceleration is measured. The guidance law presented guides the missile to the point directly. The guidance law is constructed by combining augmented proportional navigation and pure pursuit navigation with some mixture ratio. From some simulations, it is found that the guidance law presented is more effective and has the higher off-boresight ability and the smaller lateral divert requirements than conventional augmented proportional navigation or proportional navigation even if there exist the LOS angle noises.

The main question of this article is whether joint actions between human and nonhuman agents enhance their performance and enable the emergence of joint agency. The findings of behavioral and physiological responses on virtual characters and robots, and the findings on joint actions between humans and robots, based on cognitive models, suggest that the interaction between human and nonhuman agents with goal sharing, action synchronicity, and online interaction could elicit a phenomenon that is similar to that seen in interactions between humans. In a future society in which humans and nonhuman agents live together, it is necessary to investigate how to design their interactions appropriately to contribute to the emergence of wisdom in the society.

2019年は,ロシアの化学者メンデレーエフがはじめて「周期律」を発見し,「元素周期表」を発表した1869年から数えて150年を迎える記念の年である。わずか1枚の紙に収まる元素周期表は,今や私たちの生活にとけ込み,物理,化学,生命,産業や日々の生活を考える科学のバイブルとなっている。18世紀のはじめから,多くの元素の発見や性質の解明にはヨーロッパを中心とする科学者が貢献してきた歴史があった。しかし,元素を合理的に整理し理解できる組織図は,ヨーロッパ近代科学を目指すロシアの化学者により達成されたことは驚異的なことと思われる。その不思議はどこにあったのであろうか?「元素周期表」誕生150年を記念して,メンデレーエフの天才の秘密と努力,そして周期表を不滅とした人々の英知の成果を紹介する。

Worldwide, many people have experienced adversity during childhood, including abuse, neglect, and household dysfunction. Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) negatively impact adulthood health. As a result, ACEs have caused enormous economic losses. However, the effects of ACEs on health have not been studied in Japanese general population. This study examined the effects of ACEs on factors leading to early death, including drinking, physical illnesses such as Type 2 diabetes and cancer, and suicide attempt. An Internet-based questionnaire survey was conducted with Japanese adults (N=988, 488 men and 500 women, Mean age, 39.12 years, age range 20 to 75 years). The results indicated that people who had experienced four or more ACE categories compared to those who had not experienced ACEs were more likely to have a history of smoking, physical illnesses, and suicide attempt. However, all effects of ACEs on drinking were not significant. These results suggest that ACEs have adverse effects on the health of Japanese people of all ages.

Atmospheric corrosion on the inhabited steel framed house was investigated with Fe-Ag galvanic type atmospheric corrosion monitoring (ACM) sensors. As the environmental conditions, temperature, humidity and currents of the ACM sensors were continuously measured in several parts of the house for five years. Corrosion rates of hot-dip galvanized steel sheet, Zn-5%Al coated steel and 55%Al-Zn coated steel for the light gauge steels were also determined on the basis of exposure tests. Service life of the galvanized steels and dew condensation in the house were discussed.Amount of deposited sea salt influences the corrosion resistance of the coated steels. Under the indoor conditions of the inhabited house, the amount of deposited sea salt was negligibly small. It is difficult to evaluate the corrosion resistance of coated steel sheets using convenient corrosion tests because of too much sea salt.
