This paper examines nine company's residential areas of Oji Paper Co. Ltd. in KARAFUTO (present southern Sakhalin). About each area, it carried out under explanation with the viewpoint of development circumstances, site planning, housing, and welfare buildings. Those company's residential areas are classified as an urbanized type and a remote district type. However it had same components and construction in domestics, because both had the purpose of recruiting employees in KARAFUTO where was developed on large scale after 1905. It had gradually changed into intentional site planning and improved habitability, especially in Showa era. As measureres against fire prevention of dwellings, massive firewalls and R.C. apartment houses were constructed. Housings and welfare buildings provided city-amenities for employees in KARAFUTO.

The encephalographic (EEG) properties of zaleplon were investigated in comparison with those of other sedative hypnotics in conscious rats with chronically implanted electrodes. The oral administration of zaleplon (0.25 – 1.0 mg/kg), triazolam (0.0625 – 0.25 mg/kg), zopiclone (1.0 – 4.0 mg/kg), brotizolam (0.0625 – 0.25 mg/kg), and nitrazepam (0.125 – 0.5 mg/kg) lengthened the total sleep in a dose-dependent manner. On distribution of sleep-wakefulness stages, zaleplon, in particular, increased the slow wave deep sleep (SWDS), whereas triazolam, brotizolam, and nitrazepam increased the slow wave light sleep (SWLS) in a dose-dependent manner. Zopiclone significantly increased the SWDS at a dose of 2 mg/kg and both the SWLS and the SWDS at a dose of 4 mg/kg. All tested hypnotics caused no influence on fast wave sleep (FWS) at doses tested. The appearance of the sleep-inducing activity of zaleplon was more rapid than those of any compounds tested, and zaleplon significantly increased the relative EEG power density in the delta frequency band over that of triazolam at 20 and 30 min after the administration in the spectral analysis. Therefore, the present findings suggest that the non-benzodiazepine zaleplon can be expected to exhibit high practical potential as a hypnotic and is characterized by an increase in SWDS with rapid onset of hypnotic action.

小川作品の特徴として<曖昧さ>はよく言われるところであるが、それゆえに<わからない>という評価をされてもいる。吉本ばななと共に、少女漫画的な作品を書く作家というようなレッテルを貼られ、文学研究のレベルとしては軽視されてきた。芥川賞受賞作「妊娠カレンダー」も例外ではない。<妊娠>を扱ったこの作品は、とくに男性評者からは<まさしく女でなければ理解できない><すさまじい>と敬遠されもした。また、姉の妊娠に向ける妹の<目的がない純粋な悪意>は、作家の特徴である<曖昧さ>で片付けられてきたが、これもまた作家の特徴に還元されて済まされてしまうものではないだろう。作品に描かれたのは《妊娠》そのものの原理であるのだ。

タイヘイヨウサケ属の一種であるサクラマス(Oncorhynchus masou)には、川で生まれてから終生を河川で過ごす残留型と、幼魚期に銀化変態を行い一度川から海へ降り、大型になって産卵のために母川に回帰してくる降河型といった、異なる回遊サイクルを持つ2相がある点で、他のサケ科魚類と異なる。このようなサクラマスのライフサイクルは、広く生物学への興味・関心を高める優れた教材となることが期待される。本研究では、サクラマスのライフサイクルを機軸とした生物教育を構成し得る、発眼卵、孵化仔魚、稚魚の摂餌行動、体色変化、野外観察を題材とした教育活動について紹介する。

Objective: Scrub typhus is a relatively common life-threating disease; its symptoms are non-specific and similar to those of other viral infections. Therefore, scrub typhus might be underdiagnosed.Patient: Herein, we report a patient with scrub typhus whose clinical course mimicked that of infectious mononucleosis. A 63-year-old male patient with hypertension presented to our hospital complaining of symptoms including prolonged fever, pharyngeal discomfort, and a mild headache. He showed the appearance of a rash after amoxicillin administration. At the same time, he did not show a crusted rash on his body surface.Results: After a comprehensive examination, Epstein-Barr virus and cytomegalovirus infections were ruled out. We suspected that this patient suffered from scrub typhus on the basis of his usual lifestyle. Finally, polymerase chain reaction analysis showed a positive result for deoxyribonucleic acid of Orientia tsutsugamushi in his blood sample. Fortunately, he recovered naturally with only supportive treatment during his hospitalization.Conclusion: We should observe and monitor patients with infectious mononucleosis-like symptoms and emphasize the importance of a clinical interview.

機械翻訳に対する増大しつづける需要とその翻訳品質に対する期待に現時点の技術は応じきれていない.しかし,最近,機械翻訳技術の研究は大きく変わった.1つは,翻訳品質を自動的に評価する手法が提唱され普及したこと.もう1つは大量の対訳から翻訳知識を学習する手法が盛んに研究され,短時間に低コストで機械翻訳システムを構築する技術が開発されたこと.この2つが相まって,機械翻訳システムが長足の進歩を遂げ社会の需要と期待に応える日は近い. 本稿では,特に,翻訳品質の評価に焦点をあてて,(1)代表的な人手評価の手法,(2)最も広く利用されている自動評価の手法,(3)評価型国際ワークショップの1つであるIWSLT,(4)自動評価の応用と展望について述べる.

要旨●H. pylori未感染者のラズベリー様腺窩上皮型胃癌32例39病変の臨床病理学的特徴を検討し,8病変の全ゲノム解析を行った.年齢は中央値57(38〜78)歳,男女比は21:11,腫瘍は中央値3(1〜6)mm,すべてUM領域に発生し,6例は多発癌であった.白色光像ではいわゆるラズベリー様外観を呈し,NBI拡大像では不整な乳頭状/脳回様構造を呈した.すべて上皮内病変であったが,Ki-67 labeling indexは中央値62.0(4.4〜96.5)%と高値を示した.腫瘍数(多発vs. 単発)と背景因子の検討では,喫煙(83.3% vs. 34.6%,p<0.05),飲酒(66.6% vs. 30.7%,p=0.12),男性(p=0.059),胃底腺ポリープ併存(100% vs. 57.7%,p=0.059)で多発癌を多く認めた.ゲノム解析ではKLF4遺伝子のDNA結合ドメイン内で共通するSNVsを認め,CNVsは半数以上で染色体1p,9q,17qでの増幅および6qや18qでの欠失を認めた.
