This study explores the role of financial inclusion in the mitigation of the effects of a health shock at the household level. To that end, we examine empirically the effect of financial inclusion on household working hours and health care utilization, using round six of the Ghana Living Standard Survey data. We find that a health shock does decrease household working hours and increase the likelihood of health care utilization. This suggests that households in Ghana are not able to fully insure themselves against a health shock. However, we find that, faced with a health shock, households who are financially excluded see their working hours reduce more than those who enjoy full financial inclusion. Also, financial inclusion increases the likelihood of health care utilization when households experience a health shock. We find evidence that loan acquisition (borrowing) is one of the main mechanisms by which households can insure themselves against a health shock. Generally, our findings support the financial inclusion agenda of policymakers in Ghana and many other countries. Thus, efforts to ensure full financial inclusion will increase the probability of households using the financial sector as a means of insulating themselves against the effects of health shocks.

The way of use of grape is divided into two types, i.e. table grape (eat in raw) and wine grape. In Japan, table grape left unsold are used to process to wine in history. But the quality required for table grape and wine grape is completely different. To make good quality of wine, many attentions are paid in recent grape growing. Sugar content is very important because it is converted to ethanol by fermentation. Malic and tartaric acid content is also important for sourness of resultant wine. But these compounds can easily adjust in its concentration by adding to grape juice/must. Besides these compounds, aroma compounds affect greatly to the wine quality. Aroma compounds have volatility and easily escape from liquid phase during wine-making. This effect partially causes the difference between smell of grape and wine. From this point of view, aroma-precursors considered to be more important. Aroma precursor is converted to aroma compounds during fermentation. For example, glucosidic aroma compounds have weak in smell and difficult to evaporate because of its solubility to aqueous phase by the effect of glucose attached. Once the glucose moiety is hydrolyzed with glucosidase during fermentation, it is changed to aroma compounds and is smell. Amino acids in grape berry are assimilated by yeast, and produce higher alcohol. Amino acids have no smell in grape, but their amount and composition will affect wine quality. Other aroma compounds precursors are also taken account of their concentration in grape at harvest for good quality winemaking.

Three years of extensive reading lessons have improved engineering students′ reading and listening skills in English. The average TOEIC score has increased to 441 points, and the relative numbers of students of lower scores than 350 points have decreased to 14% in the third year when the median reading amount of easy-to-read English texts is about a half million words. The critical success factors are the reading amount and the easiness of English texts read especially in the first term. When students read extremely easy English texts with the help of pictures, they can finally avoid the translation into Japanese and grasp the meaning of the texts directly in English

近年、自然環境問題に対する関心の高まりとともに、アニミズムが再び一部で注目されている。しかし、その現象を語るためのアニミズム「論」の再検討は不十分であり、本稿はそうした理論の整理を目的とする。アニミズム論は、タイラー以来、宗教の基礎理論とされてきたが、一部の論者はこれを環境認識の手法として捉えなおそうとしている。つまりアニミズム論とは、(自然)物に霊が宿ると「見立て」、「擬人化」する認識手法だというのである。しかしこの見方は、常に一方的に対象を認識する理性的能動的主体という至極近代的な人間観を前提としており、自己と(自然)物が等しく霊を共有し、その神秘的な力によって自らも生かされているという主体の受動的感覚を看過しやすくなる。人間が自然環境を一方的かつ操作的に扱ってきた近代的発想を批判したいのならば、この人間の受動性を再認識すべきであるというのが、本稿の主張である。

The purpose of this article was to introduce the role and importance of physical literacy in Canadian Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) and physical education, and to consider the applicability of physical literacy in Japanese athlete development and physical education.    Physical literacy can be described as “the motivation, confidence, physical competence, knowledge and understanding to value and take responsibility for engagement in physical activities for life”. The concept is recognized as the foundation for LTAD. However, the effectiveness of LTAD and physical literacy have not been made clear because there has been no concrete measurement.     On the other hand, in a physical education setting, recent studies have recommended the assessment of outcomes of physical education by the Canadian Assessment of Physical Literacy (CAPL). If the reliability and validity of CAPL is confirmed, further studies are expected to procced in the fields of LTAD and physical education.     In conclusion, there are a lot of research subjects within LTAD and physical education settings, while the attention to physical literacy is increasing. Therefore, the applicability of physical literacy in Japanese athlete development and physical education needs to be considered with careful attention to future research trends. In addition, the discussion on sharing the goal of developing physical literacy between athlete development and physical education is one of the important issues.

I analyzed regulations and systemic burdens that act as barriers against the conduction of innovative drug/device development and against the promotion of high-quality clinical research and trials. Taking into account the wide range of these issues, I will propose a plan that will allow for both the promotion of innovation, clinical research, and clinical trials and the maintenance of the national healthcare system. By urgently completing this process of comprehensive systems-based planning, I hope to realize futuristic medicine (precision medicine and personalized medicine), which allows for genetic information to be used freely while maintaining the structure of the national health care system.

クラウド・コンピューティングの普及に伴い、開発ツールを提供する際にオンライン・サービスとしての提供、即ちTool as a Service(TaaS)とでも言うべき方法によりユーザ側の利用コストを低減することが可能になってきた。しかし、開発ツールを新規にTaaSとして開発することは開発側にとって大きな負担となる。そこで我々は既存の開発ツールをそのままTaaS化するPlatform for TaaS(PTaaS)、特に堅牢性、可搬性と相互運用性、短い応答時間、柔軟な計算機資源調達に優れると期待される分散ビルド型PTaaSを提案し、その実現の詳細を検討する。

イタリア・ルネサンス期の詩人ルドヴィコ・アリオスト(1474-1533)が1532年に完成版を発表した『狂えるオルランド』(脇功訳,名古屋大学出版会)は,中世騎士物語を代表する叙事詩とされているが,物語の後半第24歌から39歌には,東国の姫アンジェリカに失恋した後に勇者オルランドが発狂する様子が描かれている. たとえば,第29歌には,オルランドについて,「裸の姿になるまでに物狂いした」,「想いに囚われ,放心していた」,「いずこにか知らねど,思慮を失くして来た」,「方々さまよい歩いた」などの記述があるほか,次のような狂気を思わせる表現もみられる.「眼はほとんど額の中に落ち窪み,顔は干からび,髑髏さながら.その蓬髪はすさまじく,また惨めたらしく,髪茫々で,恐ろしく,また汚らし」,「食い物が欲しいときには,村々,家々荒らしてまわり,果物や,肉やら,パンを奪い取り,腹に詰め込み,人々に暴力振るい,殺めたり,怪我をさせたり,一つ所にじっとせず,絶えず前へと進みつづける」.

う蝕原性Streptococcus mutansおよびStreptococcus sobrinusはスクロースを基質として非水溶性グルカンを産生し,歯面表面上に強固なバイオフィルムを形成する。本研究ではセリンプロテアーゼに属するナットウキナーゼの抗バイオフィルム効果について検討を行った。S. mutansとS. sobrinusのバイオフィルムはナットウキナーゼ1mg/ml濃度において約80%程度阻害された。このとき,非水溶性グルカン量の著しい低下が確認された。以上の結果からナットウキナーゼは非水溶性グルカン合成酵素に影響しているものと推察された。セリンプロテーゼに属するトリプシン,プロテイナーゼK,サブチリシンはナットウキナーゼと同程度のバイオフィルム抑制効果を有した。一方,パパインやブロメラインなどのシステインプロテアーゼのバイオフィルム抑制効果はセリンプロテアーゼと比較して著しく低下した。

In the 1990s, a certain type of highschool girl was called 'Ko-gal'. They were the center of attention during this decade. They were identified as wearing remodeled school uniforms, in particular 'cho mini(-skirts)' and lloose(-socks)', had sun tanned skin, and dyed their hair. Furthermore, they were considered to loiter on street corners or at fast-food shops in the Shibuya area with their friends all night long. The mass media, especially magazines for adult men, represented them as being easy to love and sometimes prostituting themselves. While the mass media bashed them, micro- or niche media, such as pagers, mobile-phones, Pri-kura, and several magazines featuring them, were frequently used to connect them with each other. They had their counter-part 'Gal-o', who always paid attention to be loved by (Ko-)gals. If it couldn't be regarded as drastic gender confusion, at least, the Kogal phenomena caused a gender panic. In contrast, during the 1990s, young men didn't have any movement of their own. With the exception of some shopowners in the ura-Harajuku area, who as gurus of style and taste of life, influenced a certain type of young people who didn't like to wear popular clothes favored by the majority. Such gurus created or selected clothes, shoes and accessories basically for men, collected their favorite things, and recommended some records, books and various goods through micro- or niche media and word-of-mouth communication, as Ko-gals did. They were influenced by youth sub-cultures in the USA and in the UK, i.e. hip-hop, biker, surfer, skater, punk etc. It seems that they attempted to reconstruct masculinity in the new era as non-white-collar heroes. A certain type of young girl shared their taste as well.
