Japanese tree frogs are known to change their body color readily according to external (ambient) or internal (mental) conditions. The coloration of the frog skin is shown by pigment cells distributed under the epidermis. Pigment cells in amphibians are classified into three types: melanophores, iridophores and xantophores. These pigment cells in the dorsal skin are formed chromatophore units, each of which consists of three different types of pigment cells. In the chromatophore unit, these pigment cells are layered one on the other: that is, a melanophore on the innermost layer, a xanthophore on the outermost and an iridophore in the middle. Various colors of the chromatophore unit combines spectra from each pigment cell, and the total skin color of a certain area results from a combination of colors from chromatophore units in the area. In this study, we examined how the chromatophore unit can show various colors, and to what extent it can exhibit a color range in relation to its component pigment cells. We also examined the total skin coloration in relation to the chromatophore unit deduced by computer calibration. It was also determined that the various patterns of brown or black stripes, which appeared against the green background skin, were caused by differences of MSH sensitivities of melanophores in the skin area.

本稿は20世紀初頭,アメリカで学位を取り,1910年代,20年代に衆議院で活躍したジャーナリストである関和知を例に,排日問題に取り組む政治家の活動,思想を明らかにするものである。学資の不足から留学先で働くことを余儀なくされ,彼はアメリカ社会のさまざまな階層を間近に見た。帰国後は『万朝報』『東京毎日新聞』で記者を勤め,1909年に衆議院議員となった。排日土地法案に対抗して中野武営らと相談会を催し,第18 回列国議会同盟会議では,アメリカの代議士たちと日米部会を結成するなど,具体的な政治活動を展開した。日米両国民の感情の行き違いに焦点を合わせ,互いの理解を深めることが最善であると訴えた。

本稿では,メタルダンスユニットBABYMETALが,欧米で最も成功した日本発の大衆音楽アーティストとしての地位を確立していく過程を,社会システム論およびメディア論の観点から分析する。誰もがインターネットやスマートフォンを利用して不特定多数の人々に情報発信をできる今日の社会は,マス・コミュニケーションが全面化した時代である。BABYMETALが欧米で成功し,大衆的認知を得るにあたっては,テレビや新聞,雑誌などの「旧マスメディア組織」だけでなく,ファンが独自に撮影して動画サイトに投稿したライブ映像が大きな役割を果たした。ルーマンが社会システム論において使用した,社会システムの作動を制御する「プログラム」という概念を使って説明するならば,マス・コミュニケーションが旧マスメディア組織の独占ではなくなった今日においては,他者との感動の共有や承認に対する欲求に基づいたプログラムによって制御される消費システムの作動が,BABYMETALの成功の一因となったのである。BABYMETALの成功過程の分析から,「マス・コミュニケーションの全面化」によって特徴づけられる現代社会における,文化産業の創造性の条件の一端が明らかになる。

症例1は46歳女性.2007年10月に2回,食事中に失神発作があった.近医でのホルター心電図にて,最大で6.5秒間の心停止を伴う発作性房室ブロックが確認された.当院入院中にも夕食時に一致して4.5秒の発作性房室ブロックによる心停止がみられた.心エコーなどその他の画像検査でも異常は認められなかった.以上から,失神発作の原因は嚥下性失神によるものと考え,永久ペースメーカー植え込み術を行った.術後,失神の再発は認めていない.症例2は,74歳男性.10年前より年に2,3回,固い物を飲み込んだときにボーっとすることがあった.2008年4月,食事中に意識消失発作があり,近医でのホルター心電図にて,食事中に最大6.3秒間の心停止を伴う高度房室ブロックが認められた.現在,永久ペースメーカー植え込み術を勧めているところである.

The Northern Ireland Civil Rights Association, which was founded in 1967 to protest anti-Catholic discrimination in Northern Ireland, organised public demonstrations. They were severely suppressed by the Royal Ulster Constabulary. The Irish Republican Army, whose members were Catholics, started to attack Protestant, the police and the British army. Protestants established the Ulster Defense Association, which targeted Catholics. This article analyses the background to the conflict in Northern Ireland using the report of the Cameron Commission which established by the British government to investigate the civil disorders of the late 1960s. I examines four areas of contention. First, electoral practices were favourable to Protestants. Catholics were over-represented among the disfranchised. In a number of areas a unionist (Protestant) council ruled over a population with a slight Catholic majority. Secondly, Protestants were disproportionately represented in the non-manual and skilled occupations. Some private firms discriminated against Catholics. Thirdly, there is evidence that certain local authorities discriminated in allocating public housing. In Fermanagh, where Catholics were a slight majority of the population, 568 post-war councils were let to Catholics and 1,021 to Protestants. Fourthly, the proportion of Catholics in the Royal Ulster Constabulary was well below the proportion of Catholics in the overall population.

近年,マルチコアCPUが主流となってきたが,現在主流の言語はシングルコアが主流の時代に設計された物が多く,並列実行を行って動作速度の向上を行うためには多くの場合で特別なライブラリや構文が必要になり,簡単に並列実行が行えるとはいえない.このマルチコアの利点を生かすため,特別な構文なしで並列実行を規定として行うプログラミング言語「Coa」を開発した.提案するプログラミング言語Coaは,並列実行を既定とするが,単につねに並列実行を行うとするとデータレース問題が生じる.この問題を避けるため,CPUのアウト・オブ・オーダ実行がデータ間の依存関係を検出するのと同様に,変数の依存関係を自動検出し,データレースが生じないように自動的に実行順序と並列性を制御する.このため,内部で並列実行を行いつつも外から見た振舞いは逐次実行と同様となり,プログラムの複雑さを増やさずに実行速度を向上できる.また,処理単位が小さく逐次実行のオーバヘッドが大きい場合に備え,純粋でない関数と指定すれば逐次実行される機能もある.CoaのインタープリタはGoで書かれており,Coaで書かれたソースコードは,goroutineを用いてインタープリタ内で並列実行される.現在,基本演算,繰返し,条件分岐,関数定義などの基本的な機能があり,FizzBuzz問題や情報オリンピックの問題等を解決できる程度の言語機能を実装している.比較実験として,13ファイルのダウンロードとマンデルブロ集合を表示するための計算を,逐次処理と並列処理で実行した.それぞれの実行時間とコード行数を比較し,Coaはコードの複雑さを増すことなく並列実行して処理速度が上がることを確認した.本発表では,Coaの仕組みと特徴,今後の課題を説明する.

2018年に高等学校の新学習指導要領が告示され,情報科は情報の科学的な理解に重点を置き,「情報I」と「情報II」が開講されることとなった.同じく2018年に,2025年からの大学入学共通テストで「情報I」が出題される方向性が示されたことから,都道府県市の教育委員会での情報科教員の採用が促進されることとなった.しかしながら,情報科のみを担当する教員(情報科専任教員)が少ない問題がある.情報科専任教員は発展的内容を教える「情報Ⅱ」を開講するためにも必要である.大学における情報科教員の養成はされている.都道府県市の教育委員会には,積極的に教員採用をして,情報科専任教員を増やしていただきたい.

This study attempted to consider the ideal form of social care which respects the best interests of children, by utilizing an interview survey to examine the elements required to raise the children involved in social care from the viewpoint of those involved. It was found that children who have been subject to social care programs require the preparation and perpetual guarantee of a family-like environment to replace the family lifeand relationships which were lost. When we considered what the best interests were of children involved in this social care, we were confronted with the fact that no overall correct answer existed. This was because the circumstances and problems were different for each individual child, and could only be resolved by individual fine-tuned handling. Because of this, the true best interests of the children will never be identified unless the adults pay greater attention to the children involved, listen seriously to each individual, and hold the children in true respect.

Extensive survey of beetles with sticky insect traps (about 27,000 traps) in about seventy historic buildings in Nikko World Heritage site was performed from the end of April to August 2010. Several species of Anobiid were found on the sticky traps: Priobium cylindricum, Trichodesma japonicum, Sculptotheca hilleri, Hadrobregmus pertinax, and Oligomerus japonicus. Some of them had caused severe infestation at certain buildings. There is little information about the anobiid species, but from the sporadic patterns of numbers of anobiids on sticky traps in many buildings over fairly vast areas, it is supposed that these anobiids may inhabit the natural places (forests) around the historic buildings. Nicobium hirtum is a well known anobiid which infests wooden objects and buildings in Japan. But surprisingly, we did not observe the species in the surveys in the Nikko area. Adult insects were most significantly caught on sticky traps from May to July. Since there is little information about these kinds of anobiids, this trapping survey provided important information about the characteristics of the insects and ideas for appropriate countermeasures to protect the buildings from the insects.

With respect to Takeshima ,the ROK has asserted that (i) Dokdo (the Korean name for Takeshima) was the first Korean territory to fall victim to the Japanese aggression against Korea, (ii) Because it was not a signatory to the Peace Treaty, the ROK was unable to receive any benefits or assurances with regard to the issue of territorial rights over “Dokdo;”, (iii) Up until the mid-1950s the United States strongly supported Japan’s position on Takeshima as a result of Japan’s vigorous diplomacy toward the United States. This research paper aims to critically examine the legitimacy of the ROK’s assertions. The author examined ROK and US government documents including those the author has found and concluded that the ROK government has invented historical basis for its claims by concealing a part of the documents that are inconvenient for them.

次世代集積回路の規模は数十から数百のIP コアからなると予測されており,IP コアの流通が不可欠となる.しかし,製造元の異なる多種多様なIP コアの仕様を理解して集積化および各IP コアを使用することは非常に困難である.また,ますます高精度化する処理データに対し,柔軟に対応しようとして,単にスケーラブルなアーキテクチャを用意しても,回路やソフトウェアの変更をともなうのでそのIP コアの詳細な仕様を理解することが不可欠となる.そのため,次世代の高集積回路においては多種多様なIP コア間インタフェースの標準化,再利用性,使用容易性および拡張性などが求められる.そこで,処理に必要なデータをIP コアに与えるとデータの長さに合った処理をIP コア内で判断し,結果を返すという,処理精度に対してスケーラブルなアーキテクチャを持ったIP コアの設計法を提案する.設計過程におけるスケーラビリティではなく,設計成果物としてのIP コアそのものがスケーラブルであり,外部からの制御をまったく必要とせず,かつ処理データの長さに制限されない,まさに完全自立形IP コアの実現である.これにより,以上に述べた諸問題がいかに解決できるかを,多くの多項式からなりモジュール化が困難であった楕円曲線暗号アクセラレータに,可変長鍵に対応可能なIP コアとして適用できることを示し,提案する設計法の有効性を検証している.
