東京都北区にある大蔵省印刷局の滝野川工場。その一室で、工芸官と呼ばれる大蔵省の職員20人ほどが、来年7月の2000円札発行に向けて、デザインや手彫り彫刻の作業を急いでいる。 いつもはゆったりとした空気が流れているが、今はどこかせわしない雰囲気が漂う。無理もない。

著者らが所属する SDM (Software Defined Media) コンソーシアムでは,2016 年より三次元映像音声メディアを管理するためのプラットフォームとして SDM Ontology の提案を進めてきた.SDM Ontology は,メディアデータとともに様々な種類・粒度,かつ,膨大な量のメタデータを階層構造に整理して管理可能とする.従来の提案は,収録段階についての記述に焦点を当てた設計となっており,収録されたメディアデータの編集段階まで考慮していなかったため,編集作業に用いられるソフトウェアやミキサーなどのメディアプロセッサの情報を記述するための構造がなかった.また,メディア収録の情報は静的である一方で,メディアの編集作業は収録されたデータや編集されたデータをもとに繰り返しおこなわれることも多く,一般に動的といえるため従来設計では対応しきれない.このような問題を踏まえ,本稿では SDM Ontology の構造について整理し直し,修正を加えるとともに,動的構造を表現するために再帰的記述を導入し,メディアの収録・編集について記述可能な SDM Ontology Version 2.0 を提案する.

日本南端の八重山諸島は、山と川と田がある高い島(田国(タンダン)島)と平坦な隆起サンゴ礁の低い島(野国(スングン)島)とからなっている。田国島である西表(いりおもて)島とその東の野国島である黒島は,昔から物々交換によって結ばれていた。主な交易品は、西表島からの稲束と水田の肥料としての黒島のソテツの葉の灰で、西表島の白米と黒島の麦・豆・海藻の贈与交換も盛んだった。1477年の済州島漂流民の記録は、西表島と周辺の低い島を結ぶ米の交易網の古さを示している。その後1637年から1902年(明治36年)まで続いた人頭税の制度のもとで黒島を除くほとんどの低い島の住民は西表島に通って水田耕作することを強制された。この結果、稲作をおこなわない黒島だけが西表島との交易を続けることになった。稲束と灰をめぐる両島の物々交換は、現金使用がひろまる大正時代も続き、1930年(昭和5年)頃に稲の新品種・蓬莱米(ほうらいまい)が普及し、化学肥料がひろく使われるようになって終わりをつげた。両島問以外の交易活動との比較を踏まえて、以下の点が結論できる。(1)八重山内部の交易は,隣りあう地域の立地と生業の違いに基づいていた。(2)一方、それは悪性マラリアの伝播・津波の災害といった歴史的事件、人頭税下の稲作の強制・移住の禁止などの政治的な制約によっても大きく左右された。(3)もっとも大きい購買力と一定の単位をもつ稲束は「貨幣」の役割を果たした。(4)この「貨幣」を生産することができない黒島の人々は、みかけは対等な交易関係のなかで従属的な地位におかれることがあった。

Laser-driven γ -ray is expected to be a very useful nondestructive diagnostic tool for large-scale structuresbecause of its potential for high energy, short pulse, high spatial resolution, compactness, and easycontrol. CRIEPI has proposed a radiographic testing system that consists of a compact laser-driven γ -raygenerator and a compact radiographic imaging system. It can be applied to a very narrow space (10 cm)in plant facilities, which are often crowded with pipes and other components. Here we review the recentprogress of our research on a laser-driven γ -ray source for nondestructive testing.

国土交通省の馬淵澄夫、辻元清美両副大臣と3人の政務官は10月9日、そろって会見し、2009年度補正予算の執行を停止する事業の内訳を初めて公表した。高速道路6区間の4車線化や東京外かく環状道路の新規着工は凍結。一方、整備新幹線や羽田空港C滑走路延伸は継続する。分野別に明暗が分かれた格好となった。ただし、線引きの基準は不明確だ。

While it is commonly known that sexual and love relations between men in pre-modern society, including that of the 'Abbāsid Period, were widespread, most of the historical research to date has regarded such relations as synonymous with modern concepts of "homosexuality." In addition, historians tend to be of the opinion that what may be called the "essentialist" concept of "Islamic homosexuality" has been embraced consistently regardless of time or place, when trying to understand male-male sexual relationships of various places and different periods. In recent years more and more research is being done that reexamines these conventional views. In particular, the research on the Ottoman Period has begun to relocate male-male sexual relationships within the context of sexuality as a whole. Unfortunately, the 'Abbāsid period has yet to be so reconsidered, mainly due to a paucity of historical sources regarding sexuality during that time. Given such circumstances, the present article is an attempt to show one facet of sexuality at the time, through a consideration of male-male sexual relationships in the 'Abbāsid period. For this purpose, the author conducts an analysis of the discourse presented in the al-Jāḥiẓ's Kitāb Mufākhara al-Jawārī wa al-Ghilmān (The Book of the Boasting Match between Girls and Boys) which is almost the only historical material written dealing explicitly with the subject of sexuality. The analysis shows that there was a distinction between "adult males" and "non adult-males," including not only females but boys, adolescents and so on, with respect to sexual relationships. Moreover, this distinction seems to correspond to a distinction between active and passive roles in sexual intercourse. The author concludes that sexual relationships at the time were based not on modern binary sexual categories of male and female, but rather on a different category fluctuating between "adult males" and "non adult-males."

6月8日、菅直人内閣が誕生した。菅氏は、首相の座を手に入れる過程で、「(小沢一郎氏は)しばらくは静かにしていただいた方が、本人にも、民主党にも、日本の政治にとっても良い」とまで言い、「小沢外し」を明言した。それが民主党支持率のV字回復につながっている。

選挙番組に見られるように, 長時間にわたり多くのスタッフの共同作業を円滑に進めることを援助するシステムとして"スタジオ内情報システム"を提案し, 実施する機会を得た.その結果, 制作スタッフが共有すべき情報の分配システムの有無が, 番組の出来・不出来に大きな影響を与えることが確認された.

<p>Karl Kraus' satirical drama <i>The Invincible</i> (1928) was his reaction to two crises with which the Austrian First Republic confronted in the 1920s. The first being corruption in the field of journalism by the revolver press (<i>Die Stunde</i>) by Imre Békessy, and the second being the political regression demonstrated by Johann Schober, the police chief. It was Schober who was responsible for the police massacre of demonstrating workers on July 15,1927, and this resulted in Kraus writing this drama.</p><p>In this drama, Békessy and Schober appear as pseudonyms, <i>Barkassy</i> and <i>Wacker</i>, respectively. Their lines, mostly in self-defense of their actions, are founded on quotations from their own utterances, which Kraus documented in his polemic with them in his magazine <i>Die Fackel</i> (here <i>Der Pfeil</i> with the publisher <i>Arkus</i>). Based on the fact that Békessy was expelled from Vienna as a result of the criticism from Kraus, this caricatural semi-fiction shows the process in which <i>Wacker</i> becomes an apprentice to <i>Barkassy</i>. In this way, the criminal fact became more obscured with the police and journalistic powers, and the two became conclusively "invincible". In the drama, the black humor culminates in the operetta song that <i>Wacker</i> sings.</p><p>The quintessence of this drama, however, exists in the scene where <i>Hinsichtl and Rücksichtl, Wacker's</i> subordinates who are personifying the language as "the most reliable traitor", cite the report concerning the objective fact of the massacre, thus exposing their unpunished and unrepentant boss. In the context of this drama, these quoted words appeal to the conscience of the recipient as an incomparable accusation, even though they were not actually written as an accusation in and of itself. This effect is due to a performance of the language, which avenges itself here for its abuse. Thus, one can get a clue to the conservatism of Kraus as a language admirer and a reading solo performer. From this perspective this drama provides an actual redemption for the theater-arts to potentially fight against post-truth situations.</p>

米国の中間選挙(2010年11月2日)で,民主党が敗北した。民主党は選挙前,下院に256議席を保有していたが,選挙後には193にまで減らし,単独過半数の地位を失った(下院の全議席数は435)。上院でも,議席を10%以上減らしている。一方で共和党が躍進したことから,米メディアの間では,オバマ(Obama)政権が今後の政策運営に関して「手詰まり状態」に陥るとの見方が専らである。
