In recent years, commercial animated films have been produced in large quantities through a specialized production system. However, in the early days of making animations, only a limited number of cartoonists were engaged in producing animated films on a small scale and as a secondjob. Through an analysis of interviews, as well as articles appearing in movie magazines between 1928 and 1945 (with a collection of notes written by animators), the present study aims at clarifying the relationship between the war and animation by considering the purposes and subjects of animated films, and the process whereby the actual production system was established for animation-making. Special attention is given to clarifying the birth of the animator as a professional, which made the production system possible. The results of my investigation show that in pre-war Japan - just as in the case of other traditional arts or jobs - animation production took place within a simple apprenticeship system. In wartime Japan, the military press officer Tadao Yoneyama realized the efficiency of animated films in enhancing the appeal among the common people of National Mobilization and the idea of the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere, by eliminating a sort of language barrier. The military thus produced numerous animated films with a propaganda purpose. As a result, the basis of the current production system was established. Numerous animated films were created to help in military training, such as aircraft maneuvers and bomb release. Since animation-making for this purpose requires a high degree of technical knowledge, animators were no longer simple cartoonists but rather experts who knew how to draw animation figures according to the movement of objects. In this way, the actual production system established by the military meant that animation was connected with the state, and institutionalized. This paper also suggests the aspect of media whereby animation films are used for a national policy.

China has made a series of cultural policies after 2000 as a result of the ever-increasing popularity of overseas cartoons in order to boost domestic cultural industrialization development. Therefore, revitalizing domestic cartoon industry has become national culture strategy. The dissertation, through real cases, analyses the decisionmaking process of The Central Committee of the Communist Party, State Council and the Ministry of Culture. It is found out that the cartoon policies are subject to the Chinese politicalauthority mechanism and they are closely related to each other. The dissertation points out that the Chinese authority mechanism not only stabilizes the release of cartoon policy but also limits it.

This research compared university student-athletes and other university students to analyze differences in attitudes towards COVID-19. The objective was to examine the impact of student-athletes′ attitudes on their future athletic activities and perform verification that will contribute to the deliberation and creation of university support measures for student-athletes. Google Forms were used to administer an online questionnaire to university students nationwide. The responses to questions on the questionnaire were recorded on either 5 or 8 point scales, as well as open-ended questions without word limitations at the end of the questionnaire. The results were analyzed by separating results into two cohorts; student-athletes and other university students, and then categorizing responses to each question as positive or negative. Cross-tabulation was used and then Fischer′s exact test was performed. To analyze the open-ended questions, KH-Coder3 software, which excels at Japanese analysis and is used in a great deal of research, was used. The analysis found a significant difference for some questions. In particular, a greater percentage of student-athletes than other university students felt unease regarding infection at university facilities, the impact of infection on university life, and the impact on activities from April 2020 onwards. Some of the reasons for the higher percentage of responses indicating unease were the lack of transparency in student life, with universities not defining clear approaches.

ラクトフェリンは乳由来の多機能性タンパク質である.最近,ラクトフェリン腸溶錠を用いたヒト臨床試験によって,内臓脂肪が有意に減少することが示された.ここでは,この新知見を中心に,従来から報告されているラクトフェリンと脂質代謝との関係について,細胞レベル,動物レベル,ヒトレベルに層別して概説するとともに,ラクトフェリン腸溶錠の内臓脂肪低減メカニズムについて考察を加える.

Gender differences in work values were examined among Japanese college students. Factor analyses indicated that work values formed slightly different factors between genders, suggesting that men and women perceived work values differently. In comparison to men, women attached greater importance to various aspects of work values (i.e., intellectual stimulation, family, social contribution, and comfortable work environment). Men placed higher values on achievement than women did. The relationships between attitudes toward women's roles and work values were also investigated. Gender role attitudes did not strongly relate to women's values on achievement. Intellectual stimulation was valued higher by women of liberal attitudes than those of traditional attitudes. Men showed significant relationships between gender role attitudes and some aspects of work values. Men of traditional attitudes attached higher importance to achievement and comfortable work environment, and lower importance to family, than those of liberal attitudes. These results were discussed in relation to career aspirations and vocational behavior.

爪甲縦裂症の3例を報告した。罹患爪の後爪廓部に外用ステロイド剤を塗布させたところ, 3例とも正常な爪甲になり完全に治癒した。このことから, 爪甲縦裂症の原因は後爪廓部の異常に基づくものと推測した。

The purpose of this study was to develop a stress-related growth scale for athletes. The subjects were 627 Japanese athletes (male = 274, female = 353, mean age = 34.98, SD = 7.95). They were asked to answer a set of questionnaires including a face sheet and Stress-Related Growth Scale for Athletes (SRGSA) which was developed in this study. The result of exploratory factor analysis revealed a 3-factor solution with 15 items of the SRGSA. Each of the factors demonstrated acceptable internal consistency with Cronbach’s alpha reliability values ranging from 0.812 to 0.913. A confirmatory factor analysis indicated that the structural validity of the SRGSA showed acceptable fit indices (GFI = 0.950, AGIF = 0.927, CFI = 0.971, RMSEA = 0.057). These results suggested that the reliability and the validity of the SRGSA as a scale for assessing athletes’ stress-related growth was statistically satisfied. In future research, an investigation for athletic club members and junior athletes should be considered in order to confirm the structure of SRGSA.

近年,海外において小型モジュール炉(SMR)の開発に向けての様々な取り組みが行われている。特に,米国,英国,カナダにおいては,政府も積極的に開発を支援する動きがみられており,IAEAやOECD/NEAなどの国際機関においても,SMRに関連する報告書が取りまとめられるなど,国際的にSMRへの関心が高まっている。このようなSMRの特性を分析し,今後,世界のエネルギー需給に与える影響を考察する。

【目的】マクロファージは、外来性異物や異物的自己成分を認識し、除去する機能を有する貪食細胞である。我々はこれまでに、多機能性タンパク質であるヌクレオリンがマクロファージ表面のスカベンジャーレセプターの一つとして機能し、変性タンパク質や変性LDL、アポトーシス細胞などを認識・除去することを明らかにしてきた。アミロイドβ(Aβ)は、神経変性疾患、特にアルツハイマー病の発症に深く関与するとされているが、脳血管壁にも沈着することが報告されている。本研究の目的は、マクロファージによるAβの認識・除去機能へのヌクレオリンの関与を明らかにすることである。【方法】Aβは、monomer Aβ40、monomer Aβ42および線維化させたfibril Aβ40およびfibril Aβ42を用いた。各種Aβとリコンビナントヌクレオリン(rNUC)の結合能をsurface plasmon resonance(SPR)法により検討した。フローサイトメーターを用いて、蛍光標識した各種Aβとマクロファージとの結合性を測定した。また、ヌクレオリンアプタマーであるantineoplastic guanine rich oligonucleotide(AGRO)および抗ヌクレオリン抗体を用いた競合拮抗実験を行った。【結果・考察】固定化したrNUCに対し、monomerおよびfibril Aβ40は結合しなかったが、monomerおよびfibril Aβ42は結合することが確認された。蛍光標識したmonomerおよびfibril Aβ42は腹腔マクロファージと濃度依存的に結合すること、これらの結合はAGROおよび抗ヌクレオリン抗体の共存により阻害されることが確認された。また、共焦点レーザー蛍光顕微鏡観察により、蛍光標識したmonomerおよびfibril Aβ42はマクロファージに貪食されることが観察されたが、その貪食作用は抗ヌクレオリン抗体によって有意に阻害された。以上より、マクロファージ表面のヌクレオリンは、Aβ40は認識しないが、monomer Aβ42およびfibril Aβ42の両方を取り込むレセプターとして機能していることが示唆された。

In carrot (Daucus carota L), the taproot colors orange, yellow and white are determined mostly by the Y, Y2, and Or loci. One of the most severe issues in carrot seed production is contamination by wild white carrot. To evaluate the contamination ratio, easily detectable DNA markers for white carrot are desired. To develop PCR-based DNA markers for the Y2 locus, we have re-sequenced two orange-colored carrot cultivars at our company (Fujii Seed, Japan), as well as six white- and one light-orange-colored carrots that contaminated our seed products. Within the candidate region previously reported for the Y2 locus, only one DNA marker, Y2_7, clearly distinguished white carrots from orange ones in the re-sequenced samples. The Y2_7 marker was further examined in 12 of the most popular hybrid orange cultivars in Japan, as well as ‘Nantes’ and ‘Chantenay Red Cored 2’. The Y2_7 marker showed that all of the orange cultivars examined had the orange allele except for ‘Beta-441’. False white was detected in the orange-colored ‘Beta-441’. The Y2_7 marker detected white root carrot contamination in an old open-pollinated Japanese cultivar, ‘Nakamura Senkou Futo’. This marker would be a useful tool in a carrot seed quality control for some cultivars.
