日本語学習者の増加に伴い,初級以上のレベルでの円滑なコミュニケーションがより必要になってきている。学習者は,日本語の基本的な単語の高低アクセントを学んだあと,それをどうつなぐと母語話者の抑揚に近づけることができるのか,またイントネーションによってどう意図が変わるかという情報は,あまり与えられていない。初期段階のコミュニケーションでは,まず「失礼にならないように話したい」というのが優先される課題であると考え,本稿では学習者が初級段階から使っている丁寧表現「です・ます」に焦点をあてて,その韻律的特徴を考察した。まず,場面別の「です」「ます」表現を使い,東京在住の日本語母語話者に「です・ます」表現の同じ文を丁寧に話す必要がある場面とそうでない場面で発話してもらい,それを別の母語話者に聞かせ,丁寧度の評価点をつけ,音響分析の結果と照らし合わせた。丁寧であるかどうかの判断は,パラ言語情報や,状況などに左右されることから,イントネーションは重視されてこなかったが,母語話者間で丁寧だととられるイントネーションには共通のパターンがあることがわかった。The demands of teaching advanced communication at a level higher than the beginners' level have become more obvious with an increase in the number of Japanese language learners. A key concern of L2 learners of Japanese is the risk of sounding rude in their new language environment. Intonation is one factor that can completely change the interpretation of an utterance. Nevertheless, L2 learners have a limited knowledge of Japanese intonation, such as the use of a falling tone for a declarative sentence and a rising tone for an interrogative sentence.Prosody plays an important role not only in intelligibility but also in speakers' attitudes and emotions. This study focuses on politeness as a variable in investigating possible language specific requirements for Japanese speech. Using desu, masu forms, which are polite forms introduced at beginners' level, two different scenarios, polite and non-polite, were prepared for the same sentence. Ten native speakers recorded sentences for each scenario and ten other native listeners provided politeness scores on their performance.The subject of prosodic features of polite speech has not received much attention in teaching Japanese, since perceptions of politeness can be influenced by various factors and can be difficult to objectively assess. This study identified the common prosodic features used by native speakers in polite speech, which can be used to teach L2 learners the role of these features in listeners' perceptions of politeness.

電気回路を簡略化したガスクロマトグラフ用簡易型エレクトロニック ディジタル インテグレーター試作を行ない,その精度,使いやすさなどにつき検討を加えた。<BR>ガスクロマトグラフよりの信号電圧は,μA-741型演算増幅器で100倍に反転増幅されたのち,μA-709型演算増幅 器,およびユニジャンクシ ントランジスターによる電圧-周波数変換回路により,入力電圧に比例したパルス列に変換される。そのパルス列は集積回路による計数回路で計数後,ニキシー管で表示される。<BR>また,入力信号電圧の微分値が一定の水準を越えたとき,ピークが溶出したとみなす自動ピーク検出回路に連動して,直前のピーク計数値の記憶表示,および計数部の帰塁を行ない,測定が容易に行なえるよう配慮した。本積分器は,市販品のほぼ1/20の費用で製作でき,実際のガスクロマトグラフ測定では,測定者が計数値を記録しなければならない不便もあるが,かなりの高精度で測定可能であった。また,本積分器の機能を向上した中級型積分器についても一部述べた。

:国境離島である対馬は、大陸の影響を色濃く受けた極めて独特な生態系を有している。島の9 割を占める山林は、その大部分が二次林であり、炭焼きや焼き畑といった人々の暮らしによって形成された里山環境が広がっている。一方で、信仰の力によって開発から守られてきた原生林も存在している。しかし対馬では、急速な過疎高齢化によって里山の劣化が進み、原生林においても獣害や悪質な生物採取により貴重な動植物の生息環境が破壊されている。里山を象徴する生物であるツシマヤマネコも年々数を減らし、絶滅危惧種IA 類に指定されている。そのような背景があって、対馬では、原生的な自然と里山環境とを同時に保全するための仕組みづくりが喫緊の課題であった。市民レベルでは、野焼きの復活や環境配慮型農業の導入など、ツシマヤマネコの保全を銘打ったさまざまな活動が行われている。しかし、これらの活動が継続されるためには、制度的な仕掛けが必要である。ユネスコエコパークの枠組みは、原生的な自然と里山環境とを、エコツーリズムや教育、あるいは経済的な仕組みによって保全する一助となるものであり、まさにこの目的に合致するものだった。本稿では、対馬の自然の特徴を整理したうえで、その保全活動の促進や継続に関してユネスコエコパークが果たす役割について考察したい。

Recently, bioelectrical impedance analysis systems(BIA)have become available for determination of human body composition, The validity of BIA has been found to be sufficiently in the American population. However, more work is needed to assess the validity and applicability of BIA to the Japanese population. The purposes of this study were (1) to test the validity of body composition measured by BIA in comparison with the underwater weighing criterion method, and (2) to develop a convenient equation that would reliably predict body composition using BIA and anthropometric measurements in Japanese females. The subjects were 226 Japanese womn and girls aged 11 to 55 years (23.9±8.3). Body impedance was measured using a tetrapolar electrode method, with a localized 800-μA and 50-kHz current injection(Selco SIF-881. The percentage of body fat (%fat) estunated by BIA was significantly correlated with densitometrically determined %fat (r=0.793, Lukaski et al.method;and r=0.800, Segal et al.method). The magnitude of these correlations was substantially higher when compared with r=0.615 found between the skinfold thickness method and the criterion method. Absolute %fat values estimated by BIA were, however, significantly lower than those determined by the criterion method, thereby indicating the need for a more accurate method of assessing Japanese body composition. For this, we propose the use of D=1.1303-0.0726(Wt/2), where D=body density in g/ml, Wt=body weight in kg, R=(R^2+Xc^2)<0.5> in ohms, and Ht=body height in cm. Lean body mass (LBM) and %fat predicted from this equation were correlated significantly (r=0.924 and r=0.799, respedtively) with values determined by densitometry. The standard error of estimates of LBM and %fat resulted in figures of 1.9kg and 3.7%, respectively. Thus we suggest that BIA is valid, convenient, and inexpensive, and that the prediction equation proposed in this study is useful for assessment of body composition in Japanese adult females.

「図形」は中学数学の3本の柱のうちの一つとして位置付けられている。具体的に扱われているのは、平面幾何に限定すれば、三角形の合同と相似、円周角等である。「図形」の指導にあたっては、直観と論理の対応をたしかなものにすることが特に重要である。しかし、三角形の合同条件は決定条件と同値として、それを教育上確認させる手段として採られているのは、実際に作図させてただ一通りだけしか得られないことを感覚的に納得させることである。言わば神秘的な三角形の合同条件を認めさせれば、その後の「図形」の展開はかなり論理的に行える。この展開の仕方は、ユークリッド原論のそれを教育的に工夫はしているものの本質的には変わらない。言い換えれば,ユークリッド原論の欠陥を引きずっている。具体的に言えば、ユークリッド幾何の基本手段である、合同や相似の概念が不明確である。基本量は長さと角(の大きさ)であるが、特に角の概念が不明確である。その結果、高校数学で三角関数が出てくるときに戸惑うことになる。中学数学の段階では、これらについて、教育上、あいまい、かつ神秘的な扱いをすることはやむをえない。しかし、教師としては平面幾何を支える数学的な論理的基盤をわきまえておく必要がある。本稿ではユークリッド原論の問題点を指摘し、それを克服するために、複素数の世界(1)で代数的ないし純解析的な手段で構成・展開した複素数体を基盤として平面幾何を展開する。それをヒルベルトの著名な「幾何学基礎論」と対比させる。

Jam-e Jam which means Jamshid's Cup, is one of the most traditional and favourite themes among the classical Persian poets. This Cup has been expressed in various names, such as Jam-e Kai Khosrou, Jam-e Jahan-numa, Jam-e Giti-numa, Jam-e Jahan-bin, Jam-e Alam-bin, Jam-e Jahan-ara, Jam-e Iskandar and Aine-ye Soleiman. Ferdousi, the greatest Persian epic poet, was the first one who used this Cup in his Shahname. He called it Jam-e Gitinumayi, which means the Cup representing the whole world, by which King Kai Khosrou found out the missing hero Bizhan. After this, this Cup was called Kai Khosrou's Cup until the twelfth century and many famous poets, such as Unsuri, Masud-e Sad-e Salman, Muizzi and Khaqani used this Cup in their poems in the traditional and mythical way.<br>But after the twelfth century, this Cup began to be called Jam-e Jam and was employed as a mode of Sufi expression. The famous Sufi poet Sanai interpreted this Cup for the first time as Sufi's pure heart in his Tariq al-Tahqiq. After him many Sufi poets, such as Attar and Sadi adopted his interpretation. This Cup found its highest expression in Hafiz's ghazals, in which he expressed this Cup in different ways and meanings. The true understanding of this term is regarded as an important key to appreciate his implicative poems.<br>In short, we may conclude from the use of Jam-e Jam in Persian literature that Persian poets who flourished in the Islamic periods were greatly influenced by their pre- Islamic traditions, wherein we make out the Persian cultural continuity and consistency.
