〔目的〕廃用症候群患者の歩行能力回復に影響を及ぼす因子を明らかにすることとした.〔対象と方法〕対象とする廃用症候群の診断名がついた52例を退院時歩行自立群と非自立群に分類し,身体機能,認知機能,血液検査データなどの項目をもとに,多重ロジスティック回帰分析により歩行回復に影響する因子を抽出し,Cut-off値を算出した.〔結果〕膝伸展筋力,身体活動量,総蛋白値の3項目が自立歩行の関連因子として抽出された.各項目のCut-off値は,膝伸展筋力0.35 kgf/kg,身体活動量は9.9 METs・時/週,総蛋白値は6.4 g/dlであった.〔結語〕廃用症候群患者が再び自立歩行を獲得するには,下肢筋力,歩行やベッドからの立ち上がりなどの総身体活動量,静的栄養指標として総蛋白質などが関連していることが示唆される.

目的 東京都内に通学する男子高校生の被服行動が、ライフスタイルや勉学、アルバイト、友人関係などとどのような関連性があるかを明らかにする。方法 東京都内男女高校生1093名のうち、男子高校生251名について一般的ライフスタイル項目26項目の5段階評定尺度値を因子分析した。得られた因子得点をもとにクラスター分析し、男子高校生を6グループに類型化した。次に各グループの特徴を把握したうえで、彼らの衣生活スタイル上の意識や行動との関わりをクロス集計で検討した。結果 ライフスタイル項目を因子分析した結果、「独自・新規性」、「友人関係」、「安易・快楽性」、「風潮同調性」、「男女平等意識」、「マニアック性」、「健全志向」の7因子が抽出された。因子得点をもとにしたタイプ分けでは、1「友人重視・流行追随・低モラルタイプ」(10.7%)、2「男女平等・堅実タイプ」(15.9%)、3「楽して一流願望タイプ」(22.7%)、4「人間関係協調タイプ」(34.3%)、5「ゴーイングマイウェイタイプ」(9.0%)、6「出世願望リーダー志向タイプ」(7.3%)の6つに分類された。被服行動との関連性をみると、ファションに興味や自信を持っている1のタイプは、友人関係には満足だが、校則を厳しいと感じ、勉強は卒業するため、小遣いの額には不満、アルバイトをしている。ファション行動が控えめな2のタイプは、モラルに厳しく、小遣いの額もまあ満足している。ファッションに興味関心が無い5のタイプは、学校生活や友人関係に不満を持ち、校則をゆるいとし、アルバイトの経験は少ない。ファッションへの関心はややあり、髪を染めたことも多い6のタイプは、勉学の目的は知識を増やすためとし、アルバイト経験も多かった。

この研究は平成7年度と8年度にわたって行った。内容については研究成果報告書にあるように我国で行われている確立論の多くの分野にわたることについて計12日の研究集会を開き,研究情報の交換を行った。特にその中でも,数学の他の分野,あるいは数学以外の分野との交流が多く持てたことに大へん意義があった。統計物理,数理生物,数理ファイナンス,数学の分野では討論,微分方程式,スペクトル理論,微分幾何,等々関連する分野の研究に親展があった。また7年度と8年度に1度づつ夏の学校を開き,若い研究者,学生に対して現在活発に進行中の話題,つまり「流体力学極限」と「エルゴ-ト理論と数論」の2つの主題について,専門の研究者に連続講演をお願いした。これは,若い世代に自分の研究の方向付けを与えるものとして非常に意義深いものであったと思う。さらに各分野を統合する研究集会を各年の12月に開催した。これにより,ともすれば狭い専門に限られて関心を広げることができたと思う。

A new type of thermoacoustic sound wave generator driven with the waste heat of a 4 cycle automobile gasoline engine is described. The exhaust-pipe connected sound wave generator, in which the hot heat exchanger is set in the exhaust pipe in order to recover the waste heat of exhaust gas, is proposed. A temperature of 780°C of exhaust gas in the exhaust is observed. In a conventional thermoacoustic sound wave generator, sound waves originate at a temperature of the hot heat exchanger, TH, of 200-300°C and become sufficient at 700°C. It is confirmed that the new generator generates sufficient sound waves and its performance is almost equal to that of the electric heater driven generator at a thermal input of 300 W, which corresponds to slightly more than 1% of the heat quantity of exhaust gas provided under the condition that the number of engine revolutions is 2 600 r.p.m. and that the throttle opening is 35%.

In our experiment we asked 201 female college/junior-college students as subjects to judge body silhouettes that consisted of all possible pairs of ten female junior-college students' photographs. We analyzed the data of the pair-wised comparisons in terms of multidimensional scaling and found that the preference of body silhouettes had two dimensions. A multiple regression analysis was also applied to examine the relationship between the somatometric measures of body silhouettes and the two dimensions of preference. As a result, it was found that female college/junior-college students had a tendency to attach importance to the side of the body when they judged silhouettes and they were likely to prefer a body silhouette having a narrow-angled thinner abdomen, and a thicker bust and hips.

Mathematical models used for control, such as for generating control references, have to be identical to the actual controlled objects to improve control accuracy. For this, their parameters are often tuned by model errors derived from the detected outputs of the controlled objects and calculated ones using the mathematical models. Therefore accurate identification between the model errors and appropriate tuning values of the parameters is necessary to complete tuning with small tuning numbers and no steady state errors.<br>In this paper, we propose The Adjusting Neural Network (AJNN), which is the extended model of conventional Multi-layered Neural Networks (CNN), to identify the non-linear relationship between them accurately. AJNN consists of two Multi-layered Neural Networks, namely, the Error Calculation Neural Network (ECNN) is added in parallel to CNN, where the ECNN calculates the output error of CNN and subtracts it from the output of CNN, to obtain accurate tuning values. Training method for AJNN is also proposed, where modified Back-propagation developed for reducing the error of AJNN and the conventional Back-propagation for decreasing the output of ECNN to zero, are applied to AJNN alternately. Finally, AJNN is evaluated with the model tuning of temperature control for reheating furnace plants and demonstrated to be effective to improve the accuracy of tuning and decrease tuning numbers.

This paper proposes the cleanliness check system which is constructed by the evaluation of students for the purpose of efficient cleaning management. This system was applied to a certain university as a case study. First the viewpoints and judgment conditions on which the cleanliness of campus were evaluated were extracted by the hearing investigations to the students. Then, some items for the cleanliness check were decided based on these results. Furthermore, importance level to the check items and user satisfaction to the current conditions were investigated. As a result, the necessary knowledge to improve concretely the cleaning management was obtained.

It is difficult to entrust contractors with daily cleaning services in government offices due to security reasons. Therefore, the quality of cleanness in those rooms is ensured by room users' self-cleaning works. In order to study how to improve the quality of cleanness in those rooms where daily cleaning services are not provided by any contractor, such as "Office work room", "Meeting room" and so on, we assessed the actual situation of room users' self-cleaning works in this study. In detail, room users' self-cleaning works were classified under 4 categories according to the type of cleaning works, "Floor sweeping", "Floor wiping", "Desktop cleaning" and "Trash & ashtray cleaning". And the frequency of cleaning works as well as the number of room users who performed it in respective categories was surveyed. Further, it was analyzed that the relativity between the room users' actual cleaning performance and the result of self-evaluation on the degree of their practice. Also, our study assessed factors which affect the self-evaluation on the frequency of their self-cleaning works such as "Frequently", "Occasionally" and "Hardly".

人間の対話において、身振り、表情、頭の振りと言った視覚情報は、より円滑な対話を行なう上で重要な情報である。より自然なヒューマンインターフェースを構築する上でも、音声だけではなく、これらの視覚情報をどのように利用していくかが大きな課題となっている。本研究では、人間同士の対面および非対面の対話を比較することにより、視覚情報の中でも頭の振りに注目し、対話における役割に関して分析を行なった。分析の結果、頭の振りには、情報伝達手段として利用される頭の振りと、そうでない2種類の頭の振りがあることを確認した。また頭の振りが対話における発話のタイミングと関係していることが示唆された。In practical conversations, visual information such as gesture, facial expression and head movement clearly makes the progress of conversation much smoother and more natural. Therefore, in the more natural human interface that can use multiple modalities, visual information becomes as important as voice information. In this research, we analyzed conversations between face-to-face and conversation through telephone line. It seems that there are two types of head movements, depending on whether it is intended to give an information to his partner or not. Also head movements seem to have a correlation between the timing of utterances.

人が他者の身体シルエットについて, 身体のどの部位を見て好ましさの判断をしているかを知るために, 女子大生201名を対象として, 別の女子短大生のシルエッター写真100体中より抽出された普通体型10体に対する身体シルエットの好ましさを一対比較法によって比較判断する実験を行った.多次元尺度構成法による分析の結果, 他者の身体シルエットに対する女子大生の好ましさの判断には二次元的な側面があることが見出された.一方, 刺激として用いたシルエッター写真上の身体シルエットの写真計測値を求め, 回帰分析によって尺度化との関係について検討を行い, 視覚的なシルエットとしての身体のどの点に着目したか, 好ましさを決める客体の条件についての分析を行った.その結果, 身体シルエットの判断には好みにおいて二次元的な変数が見出されたが, いずれも身体の正面よりは側面からの観察によって得られ易い判断であるという興味深い事実が明らかになった.一つは身体シルエットの角度と関係があり, もう一つは厚みと関係があることがわかった.すなわち, 側面における腹部の角度が小さく厚みは少ない方, バストとヒップの厚みは多い方が好ましいと判断される身体シルエットであることが示された

災害などで通信障害が発生している携帯電話サービスエリアを迅速に復旧させる様々な取組みが行われている。その取組みの一つとして、係留気球に非再生無線中継装置(リピータ)を搭載した係留気球無線中継システムを開発し、実証実験を実施した。本稿では開発した係留気球無線中継システムの概要について述べる。

初年度は、繰り込まれたRVZ誘導変換に対して、代表者の先行研究で既に得られていた局所型中心極限定理を、応用上重要な関数を含むクラスに拡張した。2008年度以降に予定していたタイヒミュラー計量に付随した自然な拡散過程の構成については、当初予測していなかった難点にぶつかったが、幸いにしてディリクレ空間の方法によりタイヒミュラー空間のブラウン運動と思しき拡散過程の候補に至ることができた。
