[Purpose] The trunk is extremely important for postural control because it has the largest body mass ratio. This study aimed to clarify the relationship between upper body center of mass (UCoM) control, including the trunk, and one-leg standing balance. [Methods] Ten healthy adult males were subjected to a left-right one-leg standing task. The center of mass total locus length (CoM-TLL), center of pressure total locus length (CoP-TLL), CoP-frequency (CoP-Freq), UCoM deviation (UCoM-Dev), trunk lateral flexion angle of the stance leg side, and hip abduction angle of the stance leg side were analyzed. Pearson's correlation analysis was performed on each parameter to examine the relationship. [Results] ​​Significant correlations were found between the CoM-TLL and UCoM-Dev (r = 0.53, p = 0.02), the CoM-TLL and lateral trunk flexion angle to the stance side (r = 0.47, p = 0.04), CoM-TLL and hip abduction angle (r = 0.45, p = 0.04), and CoP-Freq and trunk lateral flexion angle to the stance side (r = −0.64, p = 0.002) in the one-leg standing position.​ [Conclusion] In postural control, some postural parameters were associated with CoM and CoP sway. Postural parameters that contribute to CoM deviation were found to be related to the amount of body sway. Postural parameters that decrease CoM deviance were found to be related to decreases in the amount of body sway and body sway frequency. Therefore, these suggested that different upper body segmentation and mass control strategies were associated with CoM and CoP.

The main objective of this paper is to investigate East & South East Asian peoples' views on Japanese as represented in the response data of the Japanese census 1997-98 by the National Institute for Japanese Language. Firstly, we summarize the historical and social backgrounds of those 10 Asian countries under investigation, concerning their conditions of language learning. Secondly, we analyze their images on Japanese with respect to certain five linguistic dimensions as well as the relationships between their images about Japanese, Japan, and the Japanese. The result shows that these factors are closely related to each other. Thirdly, we show that most Asian countries expect their further advancement in the relationships with Japan in economy, but that this may not necessarily lead to the rapid increase of learners of Japanese. Finally, we suggest some possibility about the near future development of East & South East Asian zone.

Alarminの一つとして注目されているadenosineは数.Mの低濃度から強い炎症性サイトカイン産生抑制能を有する。また組織損傷の強い熱傷では血中adenosine濃度が有意に上昇していることが明らかになった。熱傷のさいに遊離されたadenosineは局所における過剰な炎症を抑制する生理的な働きを果たしている可能性が示唆された。

〔目的〕老健施設入所者の転倒状況を調査し,時間帯別に分析を行い,転倒者の個人要因の特徴を明らかにすること.〔対象と方法〕福島市の老健施設で初回転倒した94名を対象者とし,性,年齢,身長,体重,要介護度,活動分類,認知症の分類,ADL評価,握力,長谷川式スケール,10 m歩行,BPSD,転倒場所について時間帯別に比較を行った.〔結果〕転倒者は9:01~17:00で39名,17:01~1:00は32名,1:01~9:00は23名の計94名であった.1:01~9:00の転倒者は低身長,BPSDの夜間不眠,廊下での転倒が有意に多かった.〔結語〕低身長,夜間不眠,廊下通行の特徴を持つ者は深夜から早朝にかけて転倒する可能性が高いため,注意が必要である.

本稿は,安全保障をめぐり柔軟に協力相手を組み替える「竹の外交」として描かれてきた戦後タイ外交像に対する疑問から,主な先行研究の検討を通じて戦後タイ外交研究の論点を整理し,課題を提示する。タイの対外関係研究,経済史,現代政治研究といった研究群における外交分析の検討を通じ,先行研究が多元的な対外関係に関心をおくなかで,外交については外務省や国軍を中心とする安全保障外交に偏重して研究が蓄積してきたこと,対外経済政策については経済政策の延長として扱われ,経済を通じた国家間の関係調整という側面については十分議論されてこなかったことを指摘した。そして今後の研究上の課題として,イシューの多様性(安保と経済),主体の多様性(外務省・国軍外交の再検討)をふまえ,「竹の外交」に代わる新たな仮説として,多様な外交主体による「多元的外交」の可能性を示して論を結ぶ。
